A few days later, Arthur gets a message from the twins asking when the four of them can hang out. What does Dayo think?
The limo starts moving again.
Someone else is watching it carefully, very interested in where it's going.
The twins live in a dingy apartment complex. They (and a lot of other people) are very surprised at the sight of the limo.
"Oooh, partay," Felix says climbing inside along with Fenris. "When Arthur mentioned this happening I assumed your family had rented the limo for some reason and then cancelled their plans at the last minute."
"Well, thank you for the ride," Felix says like he doesn't go inside vehicles that much and thinks this is some sort of Properly Polite response.
They go to a fancy restaurant at Jessica's expense and have a fun night out with friends. It's very relaxing, but soon enough they have to go home.
Jessica has a lot of fun with the Dalkailas and approves of them. They are allowed to date her friends.
The best route back involves going via a road by a river. It's not very well travelled this time of the night.
"I don't know... this road is curved enough and with enough junctions that someone following us might disregard stealth over not losing track of the limo," Fenris notes.
"If they were after Jessica they would pick some point during her normal routine and definitely not when there are two skymages nearby."
Their pursuer keeps pace with them. A streetlight illuminates the biker briefly. A helmet covers their face, but they have a tall slender possibly-female build and mismatched clothes. They were holding something in their hand that almost looks like a smartphone, but oval.
A few strands of hair poke out of the helmet.
He has been quiet since Fenris pointed out the motorbike.
Now he is pale like a ghost and holding very still.
"Okay, maybe we could, like, call someone—Victor—"
"On it," the driver's voice comes from a speaker.
Careful observers might notice two flickers of the hand that's holding the oval.
The limo's lights go out and the engine makes a pathetic sound before stopping.
Victor has to steer the engineless limo and manages to make it feel almost graceful.
"What the everloving fuck."
