"I wanna learn how to fight evil things and check out the cool new books."

"I'm just here for the books."

Theo shrugs. "Moral support?"

"Very well, then." She looks at Eva. "Do you have any martial training?"

"No," she says. "I was thinking of getting some but– never did."

"Mmm. We will probably need to find a place to put practice dummies for you to hit."

"Yeah."

"I'd suggest my place but it's tiny. The graveyard, maybe?"

"My house is a possibility as well."

Shrug. "That works, if you're okay with it?"

"Certainly. The Watchers' Council picked it anticipating this possibility."

Nod. "Okay, so, are we all going there then…?"

"Yes. I could offer you a ride, if you don't mind being squeezed in an old tuna can."

Eva smiles. "That'd be good, thanks."

So they all file into Norma's car—Sadde makes sure to sit beside Theo so he can hold Theo's hand and rest his head on Theo's shoulder—and go.

Awwh.

Then eventually they get to Norma's house! Presumably.

They do! It's a spacious two-story house with a nice living room and enough space and privacy in the back.

And a wooden practice dummy waiting there. My, it's almost like Norma'd been expecting this to happen. Sadde snorts when he sees this.

Eva looks at it and raises an eyebrow. "So how much were you expecting to find me in Sunnydale, then?"

"Oh, we knew you were here the moment you activated."

"'We' being… watchers?"

"Yes. We knew the previous Slayer had died, so some of the witches employed by the Council figured it out."

"Any idea how she died?"

"A demon ate her head."
