"I wouldn't've made it without Daisy, yeah." Bit of a grin, with that, just the shadow of one really.

Nod.

"You've been through some shit together, huh?"

"Yeah." She sounds fond. "Living out here has been nice, though."

Aww.

"I guess the heat probably doesn't get to you so much, right?"

She chuckles. "Dusk did actually have to upgrade my cooling system, when we first got here. But I don't feel it, no."

"Oh, right. Overheating's still a thing. Probably isn't much better for you guys than it is for us."

Not that there's any way to check, but...

Shrug. "I don't really have a way to compare; Dusk isn't bothered by it at all."

He looks aside at Dusk.

"Your thermoregulation must be pretty excellent."

"Force effect. I can share, if you like." The heat briefly dissipates.

Whoa.

"...teach me that one too?"

"Sure," she chuckles, and replaces the effect. "I don't have great range on it, maybe something like thirty feet, but I can leave it up while you're around until you pick it up yourself."

"Nice! It's, uh, not a huge effort, right?"

"Nah. I have lots of practice at just leaving things going."

"That's pretty cool. I wonder if you could get healing to work like that."

"Hm, maybe. It seems like it takes a little too much focus, but I've only seen the one example, there might be a way to do it anyway."

"...yeah, it does take some special attention. I guess, the way I do it, that much sensory input right in the front all the time would be...kind of hard to live with."

"That doesn't necessarily mean it's impossible. My Force senses are always-on, but I have 'em set up so they don't bother me unless there's something I'd want to know about. Like - y'know how if you're asleep, a loud noise will wake you up, or someone quietly saying your name, but a quiet noise that isn't your name won't? It's like that."

He nods.

"I guess...if I could set it up like that, it'd work. Probably a long-term project, though."

"Mmhmm. It's super handy once you figure it out, though. I can tell where anyone is and what they're feeling anywhere within - probably close to a hundred miles, now, it's been a few years since we measured it and it was just shy of seventy then."

"...wow."

That is pretty damn cool.

"Yeah. You're pretty much just not going to be able to sneak up on me, ever, it's pretty good."

"...Pretty sure you can sense people who are sort of still in space. People couldn't sneak up on you from space."

Giggle. "Not even 'sort of'. I'm not quite up to the satellites yet but I do notice when someone's coming out of orbit overhead."

He swings his legs to the side so he can flop back on the bench. Ow, burns and bruises.

"Space feelings. Holy shit."

"...I don't remember what I would've felt like when I was landing."

"Unless you've been around a couple months, I missed you - it's only a few times a year that someone comes in the right way."
