Sadde returns home, sleeps, and then goes to school the following day. He arrives and starts looking for Theo, but runs into—
"Well, but I'm pretty sure you can in fact do that, so we won't get a lot of information when you do, the point is testing your limits! Though admittedly teeth sharpness has limited applicability if you're not in the eating people business."
"… I am pretty sure I am not in the eating people business, on account of having never eaten a person before in my life to my knowledge and also finding the idea rather horrific. In case there was any doubt." He blinks, kind of horrified at how he phrased that, and then says, "And yeah, doesn't provide much information, but at least provides some."
"I wasn't opposed to just nailing some asphalt – I wasn't really thinking about how much damage I could do, more the idea of mangling. But yeah, needles, cardboard and maybe asphalt."
Downstairs they go?
He shrugs, then goes to fetch some needles! "Voilà," he says, returning with some needles. "Needles. Do we go sterilize these on the stove or something then poke ourselves with them? … Or was it just me that was poking myself."
"Well we need a baseline for comparison, I think I should poke myself. And Willow."
"Because you're the only certified one hundred percent human here. He's part demon, I'm something, probably a demon, too, so."
"So, are you poking each of us, then? So you can compare how difficult it is?"
"Okay," he says, then goes over to the stove, turns it on, and holds the needles in the flames – being careful not to get himself, of course, he's not fireproof.
"I mean, I don't think we're planning on mangling ourselves or anything, so, like, have a paper towel at the ready or hold your arm over the sink or something?"
And the needles are nicely hot and still pointedly sharp now so he removes them from the flames.
"Alright, then." And after appropriate appropriateness has been appropried, she grabs one of the needles and makes a tiny hole on the tip of her finger. She immediately raises the finger to her mouth.
Willow makes a hole in herself, too, but seems to react less to the pain. "This hurt less than I thought it would," she says. "And my skin didn't look any less tough than hers."
"So we're poking ourselves individually? It's just, it might not be very easy to tell the relative difficulties or whatever."
He does, however, poke himself with the needle. It doesn't seem like he used a different amount of force from the others.
Then he frowns. "Did we even work out whether I was part-demon or just whole demon, anyway? Is there a way to know that?"
"There might be a way to know that! And you're right." She gets a little twig with a leaf and whispers a word in Greek while she touches their wounds with the leaf. They're all healed. "I should poke everyone."
"Yeah," he says, and then the frown returns! "I think the memory thing might be disappearing slowly?"
"The block or whatever on it – like, I don't remember what happened but it's sort of fuzzy and not just gone now?"
"That you grabbed the herbs, I then felt like it was immediately after the herbs were totally burnt, and there actually was a– thing in between those two events but I don't know what. Which is more than I remembered before – previously, I knew there was a thing between them only because I knew you were removing memories and suddenly things had changed, not because I could actually tell there was a gap."
"...that sounds weird. And it sounds weird that it would come back only partially like that. If this spell is undone it should all come back at the same time."
