Milliways: the bar at the end of the universe. It's a bit crowded today, with a group of brightly-colored lizard people taking up several of the tables in the main bar and a more usual assortment of patrons scattered densely around the rest of the room - well, except for by the fireplace, where one patron is being given a somewhat conspicuous amount of space - perhaps it's the intimidating all-black outfit, or the way she's muttering to herself as she reads from the book she's holding, or the almost feral way she looks up when anyone in her field of view moves too quickly, but no one seems to want to get especially close to her.
And here is another patron holding a heavy book. He spots a empty chair by the fireplace and makes his way there. He notices the all-black outfit and the conspicuous amount of space... He decides to approach cautiously.
She peers at him over the top of her book; not hostile, quite, but watchful and not at all welcoming.
He is wearing jeans and a long sleeved maroon shirt. And he could pass for a baseline human on the "young" side of young adult, except for the wings attached to his back, big and with feathers in red-orange tones. Noticing her steady gaze he says. "Hi?"
He takes a chair and opens the book and starts reading. Making notes in a notepad.
She glares at him for a second and then goes back to her book, muttering annoyedly.
He can't say that he expected that. Reading for a but more.
Felix has an idea he gets up and goes to Bar.
He comes back a few minutes later. Not in the same spot, closer to the edge of her personal bubble. He fiddles with the sign and it flashes a message:
OFFERING HELP IF NEEDED. ACCEPTING SUGGESTIONS. TALK TO ME FOR DETAILS.
He keeps reading as well. Someone approaches, but apparently they just need to be directed to the infirmary.
After a while, a person made of metal approaches and sits next to her, somehow without prompting any glaring. They talk quietly for a minute or so before the woman goes back to her book.
She doesn't really have eyes, just a pair of unmoving golden discs where they would be on a human. She doesn't react in any particular way to being looked at.
She says something to her companion, who nods, and then she heads over. "Hello."
