"Ooh." He touches that one, too, wincing only slightly when he burns his fingers.

"Neat, huh? I grabbed these because I could theoretically use them, I'd be no use with something heavy but I took an assortment of light weapons..." she rummages around some more. "You're probably not as interested in anything ranged."

"Not so much, no."

She pulls out an elegant quiver with bow and arrows in it and sets it aside and keeps rummaging. "Ooh, I forgot I took this one!" And she pulls a very large sword out of the bag.

"I like it already."

"It's a nonstandard sun blade! Normally they're bastard swords but this one's a greatsword." She draws it a little ways out of the sheathe; the blade glows gold.

"And what's a sun blade?"

"Well, it does that," she says, gesturing at the glow, "and it normally behaves like it's got a twofold magical enhancement, but against--well--people the alignment system classifies as 'evil' it acts like it's got a fourfold magical enhancement, and against undead or anything from the Negative Energy Plane it cuts like twice as deep, and once a day you can get this awesome globe of sunlight out of it."

"The entire way magic works in your world is just so bizarre."

"From your perspective!"

"If we meet another world I'm nearly certain they will think yours is weirder."

"I dunno, most people are less chill about the torture thing than I am."

"I don't think that has anything to do with how weird the magic is!"

"Might prevent them from being objective about it."

"I'm not sure that counts, then!"

"All I'm saying is weird is subjective!"

"Somewhat."

"Oh?"

"I mean - there are a lot of different things about your magic system that I think are bizarre, and I don't think mine has - enough different characteristics like that - for it to be even possible that you could think that many things were weird about it. I think mine is just inherently closer to what people starting from different perspectives would think was sensible."

"I see your point."

He smiles at her. "Anyway. I like your toys. Got any more?"

"Yeah, lessee--ooh. I think you'll like this one," she says, drawing a sling out of the bag.

"Oh?"

"Projectile weapons put their enchantments on their ammunition. Slings? Have a verrrrry broad definition of ammunition." She wraps the sling around her hand. "And based on what I've gathered about your tastes I think you'll like this particular enchantment very much."

And then she appears to be made entirely out of an intensely shining light, and her clothes fall through her to the floor.

"I have no idea what's going on but that's beautiful."
