"Could be more than one person working together--even if Poafa isn't the one placing obsidian he could still be covering for them, feeding them information. He still feels sus to me."

"Would Parrot and Poafa work together?"

"Honestly? No idea. They're not enemies, but they haven't worked together in the past. It's not unthinkable but it wouldn't be my first guess for either of them, except for... everything else right now."

"Mhhm."

"We should probably figure out the plan for tonight--I dunno if anyone's around to keep watch. I still can't do it, sorry, I've got a lot of off-server stuff this week. Poafa's definitely the most motivated to do it, but has the obvious problem of still being a suspect. ...Could also just see what they do next, since the boat is gone."

"I would be happy to take watch again."

On the one hand, this is extremely bad. Possibly the worst thing that's happened since Planetlord brought up checking statistics. Mapicc is definitely going to get mad at him later. On the other hand, if they hadn't asked, that would... also not look great for them.

"Are you good with doing that all night? I mean, you did that last night too, you haven't slept. We could ask Planet or someone."

Who really needs a sleep schedule, actually. "I can sleep a bit before night falls. It's no trouble."

Hm. People will definitely be around before nighttime. Morning would be better, but if he says that and then it's petrified in the morning--

"Okay. I just don't know how sustainable that will be if we have to keep doing this. We can make a schedule, get Subz and Planet in on it. Maybe Poafa."

"Subz seems the most trustworthy of all those people, but I'm not sure he would agree."

"I am not doing an allnighter for this, by the way. I'll make the group chat, that's it."

"That's fair enough." Other people need to sleep, he does not. 

Mapicc does, indeed, make the group chat: the three of them, as well as Poafa, Subz, and Planetlord. Poafa is included on the basis that Poafa has in fact already done several watches and it's probably good to know when specifically he's standing watch, either on his own or with someone else. Other people can get added in the future if they're interested and at all trustworthy.

It's a good system, even if he is quite happy to become nocturnal and take arbitrary watches.

(And now Team Awesome knows when the watches end. Unfortunately, both Mapicc and Roshambo have school, so it'll be hard to pull off, and it'll be suspicious that whoever is doing Medusa knows when the watches happen. But it'll be possible. ...Hopefully.)

There's still a while left before the watches start, though; Drizzt and Mapicc and Roshambo can hang out for a while.

Drizzt is trying to both hang out and be productive-- that is, sort the random things he has picked up so he isn't carrying around piles of useless things. (There's a pile of flowers and rotten flesg around his feet.)

And he finds an onyx-black egg.

"Do you recognise this?"

Mapicc's eyes go wide real fast; Roshambo takes a step back. 

"Dude, where the fuck did you get that-- do not let Parrot see you with it. Honestly, we probably shouldn't even be doing this anywhere near spawn. Put that away, let's go a thousand blocks out and try it out there."

Mapicc picks a direction and starts walking.

"Is it named anything, does it have any NBT data...?"

Drizzt is following. Apparently it's important that the egg is kept secret?

"How would I check the data?"

"I don't think you can see what it is without op, but you should be able to see if it has it--it'll show up as, like, a note that it's got NBT tags when you look at it in your inventory."

"It does appear to... have those? And a garbled name."

"Okay, good to know."

It would have been faster to do this in the nether but they've already gone far enough out that there aren't any portals nearby. Oh well.

"Should we try and make it into a spawner or something? If it's only the one, it's going to be really embarrassing if we spawn it and then whatever it is just, like, dies."

"Spawners don't keep NBT data."

"Damn. Well, good to know."

They keep traveling for a while before Mapicc signals for them to stop and starts digging down. He digs out a room. (He starts recording. Whatever this is, he'll want footage later.)

"Okay. You can put it down now," he says, and holds his breath.
