"Packing peanut particles will pass harmlessly through their systems!"

Fascinating! She pets one of them approvingly.

It attempts to burrow in her hand adorably.

Lovely!!! She wants ten.

"I can get you a forthcoming litter for a down payment of just five thousand dollars but litters are usually not more than eight hamsters."

"Oh, well, I wasn't being literal, at least, not for certain. I'll have to talk to, uh, someone about it. Do you have a web address or something I can write down?"

"Here, take my card!" The card has been nibbled on by hamsters. They have all been, so maybe it's a deliberate artistic choice.

She thanks them and pockets it.

Next up: roses that can smell you and deliberately attack you with thorns if you aren't familiar!

How delightfully poetic! Are the thorns venomous?

Not in this batch, the roses were less pretty when they had to grow around the plant being poisonous.

Huh, how much of a threat can non-venomous plant thorns really be? How fast do they fire at?

Oh, it's not a firing thing, they can move their branches and wrap around you. The creator recommends pairing them with attack dogs or something.

Checks out. How does one get the tensile strength of rose stems up to the requisite level?

Rose stems can be pretty woody! And people mostly don't want to pull on them very hard if they have thorns embedded in their arm.

What an ingenious design! Katie is now wondering if they would be safe enough for bedroom applications. She grabs a business card.

This place does have a website (listed on the card)!

Next one is Land Coral: A Concrete Alternative.

Beautiful!!! Exciting!!! Transformative!!! Katie does not have much personal use for this one but she is excited to see where it goes.

There are Land Coral dollhouses on display!

Not much of a dolls person either, but she gives one an examination anyway.

Land Coral will grow along any direction painted with Land Coral Growth Medium; you start it out on the foundation, and once it gets tall enough you can start painting the floors of the second story (grown from the walls of the first). There are Land Coral Miniature Trial Kits available for sale in six colorways if she wants to make a desk toy or sculpture or something out of it.

How much do they cost?

$80.

She'll think about it.

"We're expecting the price point on the trial kits to drop once we get some contracts for enough of the stuff to grow a full size building," explains the salesperson.
