The Valar announce that they've done as much as they can in Singularity (they can't bring back peoples' babies in that critical period either, but they can get them earlier versions) and are setting up portals between there and Sanity as soon as they are confident they've cleaned up the plague. A bunch of Elf architects have this wild idea for a fivedimensional city where alternating intersections are interdimensional portals between various Valinors and they get eagerly to setting it up.
We can't discount the possibility that it's trying to secure an opportunity it hasn't had yet.
I know. That's why it's really important to know if he's lying. And I have a computer in front of me that says he's not, and I want to come to Singapore and compare notes so we can figure out who got it wrong. But I won't come if you're going to shoot me, I'm not his summoner.
All armed GCP agents are capable of binding-checking parlor tricks. If you do not have an unsafe summons active you will be in no danger.
If they don't get overeager. I'll head over. Where should I meet you.
If you can get here during my lunch break I will be at the Olympian Diner.
He summons a fairy and takes a circle for a demon and some Polyjuice.
He finds the diner.
It's a food, some kind of dough full of meat. It's pretty good. "So what exactly do you propose to do?"
"Same thing I did this morning, ask a demon under the binding I sent you for the complete works of my little brother, see if the vlog stuff is in there. And it will be, 'cause I just did that this morning. And then - I don't want to be accusatory or anything but I think someone has to be lying to you and I want to figure out who and why."
He hands it over. It's the same one as the one he attached in an earlier email. No gag, otherwise perfectly safe.
"Nah, never had one to begin with, it's this weird birth defect that shows up sometimes on Hazel."
"I can't agree for you, right? And you can shoot me if I seem likely to be talked into snapping the binding or something, right?"
"I'd rather not shoot you in a diner, or at all really, plus it seems pretty plausible that you're working for demons for some reason and wouldn't telegraph it if you were going to snap it."
Sigh. "If I were working for demons I could do that even with the gag, couldn't I?"
"If you actually snap it I'll have fewer qualms about shooting you and if there's a gag you won't be convinced to if you didn't already plan on it."
"I have summoned upwards of a hundred demons ungagged and I assure you I have never been even vaguely tempted. If they were presently torturing my whole family and promised to stop and I couldn't dismiss them for some reason I still would not be tempted. I am not insane and I do not take risks lightly."
"I am not going to dispense with any standard safety precaution on the word of a teenage boy. I am indulging you, on my lunch break, because you seemed like you might have something to show me, but if all you have to say is a rehash of the tirade about gags I'm wasting my time."
