The Valar announce that they've done as much as they can in Singularity (they can't bring back peoples' babies in that critical period either, but they can get them earlier versions) and are setting up portals between there and Sanity as soon as they are confident they've cleaned up the plague. A bunch of Elf architects have this wild idea for a fivedimensional city where alternating intersections are interdimensional portals between various Valinors and they get eagerly to setting it up.
"Do you have to overhaul your entire circulatory system to actually fly with them -"
"Guess what," Fëanáre says to her gleefully. "Computers!!!" And then a very fast-paced explanation of what those are.
They can each have one if they'd like after the brain surgery is explained. Tyelcormë's can have her alphabet as default.
" - that'd be great. We don't need to have specific things to take care of them?"
"I can probably figure out how to convert your household electricity into something that can charge them."
"And you may look over my shoulder while I do it. Timothy, are you bored?"
"Good." And he measures the household current and comes up with a transformer and splices it in, narrating as he goes.
"Maitimë believed it and it fits the languages. Someone had eight children at once, did you know that?"
"Mmmmhmm." One of the children is trying to climb up his leg; he scoops her. The other one wants to touch Cam's wiring project; he scoops her too.
It is a very enthusiastic talkative family that sits down to question the time travellers over dinner. For some reason no one except Maitimë objects to knowing who they'll marry.
