"Well, I'm not leaving now, it's getting late. Go right ahead."

"Cool. You'll love magic. It's gonna be great! The Puchuu do the hard work of finding gribblies and we get to practice awesome superpowers and come to the rescue! But we magical girls do have to use proper teamwork, of course."

"Yeah, I'm all about that, I don't want to be without backup in a monster nest. Besides the obstacle course are there not-live-fire options for that?"

"Sparring. Particularly weak enemies or soloing something with backup waiting in the wings. It's not cops and robbers, the monsters are Monsters, not villains, and they're playing for keeps and already escalated almost all the way. Abyssals, anyway. Rowdy werewolves will surrender."

"What do you... do... with surrendering werewolves?"

"Hit 'em with silver and let Puchuu give them a talking to and then cart them back home! There's a few clans around. At least the two times I did it- Two different weres."

"Huh! And they're basically just folks except the regular police can't put them in the drunk tank?"

"Ehhhh... Whole toxic culture and a few weird powers other than being big and mean. But kinda yeah."

"Toxic culture how?"

"We are the strong, we take care of the Pack and nothing else matters, bad warriors are worthless as people, our land has been stolen and blood will run when the time is right..."

"Has... their land been stolen? Are these Native American werewolves or something?"

"No, they're black, mostly. I dunno about the land but the whole thing is just... Brr."

"Are they contagious?"

"Yeah, and the P.G.C. have threatened, uh. Extermination if they start mass turning. Oh. That's - Puchuu Girls Collective, what passes for the Justice League. It's extremely informal."

"How is it together enough to threaten people with things if it's extremely informal?"

"Puchuus will tell you they exist, I mean, I wouldn't want to cross them... Maybe not extremely informal. It's an alliance between some big names and the Puchuus. The big names at the top hop around the world to deal with major threats, otherwise they don't - do much. One of a few groups on that level - there's the Heavenly Stars, an Asian group, who are full of pageantry and formal ranks and stuff, and this group calling themselves Olympus who go way into the greek mythos aesthetics, and the PGC who I think are the most reasonable but also the least formal. There's a mailing list and a suggestions box and an annual meeting but, uh, it feels more like a hobby group and a party to show off than a serious superhero team. The big names, Antoine, Sola and Luna, Monument, Amazona, don't want to make it very limiting I think."

"Should I be on the mailing list?"

"May as well! Or I can just show you the letters I get. ...By mailing list I mean snailmail, yeah."

"I do have a physical address and can receive mail at it. Puchuu gave me a teeny little coin to let my dad remember what I told him, too."

"Sure. You have to send in a form, give me your email address? It's good form to donate a few coins when you can spare them. Or occasionally volunteer for something if the newsletter calls for aid."

Bella rattles off her email. "I think I owe Tanya before I go paying membership dues but I will assess my availability if the newsletter calls for aid."
