::You did, yeah. I'm thinking a shield projector, like Nine has -:: She says a few words to him and he rumbles an acknowledgement and activates the shield function of his forearm, producing a humming field of translucent blue that extends a few feet above and below it. ::Blocks blaster fire and can take a hit from a lightsaber, too, though it's not enough to win you a fight with a competent Sith.::

::Oh, that would definitely be helpful.  How's it hold up against kinetics?::

::Depends on how big it is and how fast it's going. A slugthrower will wreck your day but a thrown rock will mostly just be annoying.::

::I see.  Most of the weapons back home are guns, but I take it that blasters are more common, here?::

::Dramatically, yeah. Blasters come with a stun mode built in - you do sometimes see people die of stunning shots, but not often, and it's not so directly a matter of aim - and they're not as hard on buildings and things, so they're less regulated. Probably doesn't hurt that they're less dangerous to Sith, either.::

"Mmhmm."  ::I think I probably ought to pick up a blaster or something, just in case.::

::Sure; they'll have those in town I'm sure. Lightsaber's not off the table either but I don't get the impression that your powerset lends itself to them and it's way too easy to lose an arm without that.::

::I don't know what a lightsaber is, or why it would need special powers, but if I want a melee weapon, I have my staff.::

::They're a Sith weapon, sword with plasma for a blade.:: she pats the holster at her hip. ::They can cut through any mundane material. They pull, though, you need telekinesis and ideally at least a little precognition to wield one safely. And you'd want to think about what carrying one would say to other Sith, but that'd be half the point if you did want one. - well, I say Sith, but Jedi carry them too. Anyway, if you want to present as a third party then definitely skip it.::

::...Huh.  How do they work?::

She can explain! It's pretty neat.

::...It is.  What's this kyber crystal stuff?::

She knows less about kybers, but still more than the very basics. Naturally occurring ones are best but they're also made artificially like so; they're very slightly sentient and that means they need a couple extra preparatory steps like so for Sith use; they have these qualities that are relevant to lightsabers and these other qualities that are really just symbolic.

::That's...Huh.  That's really interesting.  There was a power source of the Violet light, back home, that came in crystal form.  I don't think anyone made plasma blades with it, though! (humor)::

::I wonder if kyber is a similar material...And, if so, what I could do with it.::

::Well, we can grow one if you want to find out, I have the gear for it.::

::I'd be really curious to try that, yeah.::

::We'll order in the materials, then.:: She passes this along to Daisy.

::Thank you.::

::You're welcome. -worth noting that Sith will notice a kyber crystal even if it's not in a lightsaber, while I'm thinking of it.::

::Like they won't notice this?::  She wiggles her staff demonstratively.

::True, but it's less obvious what to make of that. Which may or may not be an advantage, really depends on the Sith.::

::It's hardly like they'll find anything I might do with them any more scrutable, I imagine.::

::Yeah, but it's - you aren't a Sith. You don't look Force-sensitive at all. You're obviously enough human, so they're not going to assume you're an alien with some weird thing going on, generally, you're just confusing. But if you're carrying a kyber... the only people with kyber crystals are Sith and Jedi, and both of those are potentially deadly threats, so it's at least a suggestion of that. You're declaring yourself an equal, or at least declaring that you're on the same playing field, as opposed to just being completely out of context.::

"Mm-hmm."  ::Definitely worth thinking about, if it's the...texture of them that does it.  But I think, in such a situation as one where I encounter a Sith, that I should scan as a threat to them.::

::Because, to most, I will be.::  Not a promise, not an oath, not a malediction nor a curse - Diana's pronouncement is simply an inevitability, tinged with the certainty that the compassionate thing to do might well to be to simply end some Sith.  ::Probably not a fundamentally deadly one; I do not wish to take lives I can spare...but some lives can only be made right in their passing.::  The Joker.  The Emperor, she suspects.  ::And I will not traumatize the galaxy by inflicting upon it minds that hate themselves as caretakers of the wounds their bodies previously caused, unlike Abin Sur.::

::Not the metric I'd use, but. We'll see how you go, I suppose.::
