The danger is still present, in your time, as it was in ours. (Or: In which Ophelia found the source of the rakghoul plague, and Mace Windu found *her*.)

...Are they taking orders from her now.

No, but he is going to look at them solemnly until they comply.

Also: She asked.  Politely.

She seems to hesitate.

She opens her mouth, seems suddenly unable to speak.

...She shrugs a little, awkwardly, her movements still don't look quite right. "...Maybe."

"...Alright.  Thank you.  Answering that question takes a lot of effort, sometimes, and you did it.  This is normally the point where I'd say I'm proud of you, but that seems a little patronizing to say, here, so take that or not as you'd like.

"...Before I rejoin the various Masters Jedi, I'd like to reiterate my request to search more deeply for the faint Darkness I still feel upon you.  It...  I think it may be part of why things still seem a bit off.  You've noticed, yes?  Perhaps a feeling like your body is a glove one size too large or small, perhaps just the ongoing awful headache, but I'd really like to rule out the idea that the Sith Master left something that's throwing you off.  I require your permission, however, before I can attempt it.  Doing a deeper inspection like that is..."

"I do not gain unfettered access to your mind, but sometimes a vision quest will show you something that you do not want to see, and, as I am also looking - though it is just as likely I may be looking in another direction - I may see it too."

For just a second she leans forwards, looking up at her -

- and then a look like fear or pain crosses her face and she jerks back awkwardly and onto the bed, staring up at the ceiling.

"I - thank you. Truly. But please don't. I don't like, what's happening," her voice is a little slurred again, "but it will pass, it always does and I've had too much of Jedi trying to fix me- " She looks over as if in sudden fear, eyes so wide, it doesn't look quite right. "I mean- that's not to say - I am tired, please, let me rest."

"...I am not a Jedi, Padmé Amidala.  Nor am I trying to fix anything."  If the...  Not quite a Mind Trick...  does not work around the compulsion she is afraid is there, she fears that she now may find herself with no choice but to resort to doing something invasive anyway.  That looks like a hastily laid compulsion.  One that the Senator is doing her damnedest to fight through anyway, but that she might just need a knife to cut the strings of.

She can be a knife.

She flinches back fast, hard, jerkily, crashing up against the wall, and screams.

See this is why they do not always listen to Obi-Wan Kenobi.

She is cowering with her arms over her face, unnaturally still but - quivering in some way -

Would Darth Mourne care to explain this.

"Sith's been in her brain."

"No you have," she spits, suddenly violent, and - "like -" it seems hard for her to talk again - " - like he used - to - " she's almost unintelligible - "for years- felt the - same way -"

"...As I said.  Sith's been in her brain.  Void take me, why do I keep directly walking into the landmines in the worst way possible...  ...If you wish, Senator, I shall leave immediately and you need never see me again, but.  Can you nod or shake your head: Is the person who made you feel like this before Chancellor Palpatine."

Her head shakes, violently, jerkily.

She opens her mouth as if to say something, "A-"

"- Anakin."

"...Absolutely not.  Impossible.  Anakin Skywalker would not have the finesse to do this if it bit him on the ass."

She sniffles, but her eyes are dry.

"I meant," and her voice is flat, hollow, slurred, "what - you - did just now - when you said you were no Jedi - I've felt from Anakin - before. ...You were - gentler - though. Earlier today was just - much stronger."

"...Okay.  My conclusion so far: Someone has very definitely kriffed with your head, extensively, Senator Amidala.  The details thereof...  I remain unconvinced, but I find myself rather more willing to be than I wish I could.

"...I think it is rapidly becoming a matter of both medical and state security necessity that we figure out exactly what was done to you, Senator.  And I don't think the Temple has had to handle anything this bad in thousands of years.

"I have.  It was unfortunately common, when I'm from.

"You deserve to know, Senator, that I am a Force Sensitive directly from the three-and-a-half thousand year ago Sith Empire.  I am not a Jedi.  I am also, however, not inclined to the utterly stupid evil characteristic of orthodox Sith, like the ones currently wrecking the galaxy.  The Masters Jedi can confirm my alignment with the Light Side of the Force.

"...If you do not wish for me to be further involved I will not be.  Goodness knows I'd understand why, I hate even the Jedi Mind Trick, let alone what the Dark Side does.  But I also think that I am the best option the Temple has, for untangling Force compulsions."

She draws her knees up to her chest tightly and wraps her arms around them.

"...I don't care who you are. I don't want anyone else to do anything to my mind at all, I don't care if you're just looking or - trying to fix me, like, what Anakin, was doing - I don't know how I didn't realise until now -"

"- I want to leave."

"Senator, you can barely walk-"

"We'll get a speeder. She is not a prisoner."

"Master Kenobi, your judgement is understandably impaired. We need to at least discuss this in Council."

"...Senator, while I would be an awful hypocrite if I tried to keep you here against your will, and I therefore will not remotely countenance doing that, you are all but looking like you're having a stroke or a seizure every time you speak about this, and there's the distinct possibility that the Sith Master the Order has been looking for the entire war is responsible for your current state, because he was in the building when this attack happened to you.

"I am not going to force you.  I will carry you out of the building myself if I have to, to make sure no-one else does.  But I beg of you, please, truly consider this with an open mind."
