What are "theater," "shop," and "home economics?"

"Theater" is the study of acting and putting out plays-- which are stories where people are pretending to be the people in them. "Shop" is metalworking, woodworking, and repair skills. "Home economics" is cooking, childcare, sewing, and home decoration. 

Tetley is going to take up running as her sport, as it seems like the most helpful for when she returns to the Isle, and art for her elective. She's always wanted to make beautiful things. 

Bern wants to take shop, because building stuff is useful, but that means he needs a sport. If he doesn't want to get beaten up, he needs to do a no-beating-up sport... Tennis looks nonviolent, there's this whole net between you and the other person, so, maybe he should go with that?
