There is a constant low sparkle of affection, and also amusement that Tanidio cares so much that he knows that he doesn't have to cook. "I'm glad I'm allowed to use my own kitchen. ...use the Duke's kitchen."

...Tanidio's own arguments are suggesting some things about his own behavior, specifically, that Bun is much more important than Tanidio is, and that therefore he should not be under a Charm Person all the time because he makes Tanidio feel warm things in his stomach. 

Tanidio pulls him close and kisses his cheek and dismisses the Charm Person. 

"Seeing as I'm about to waste my Very Important Time, is there anything you want for breakfast, or do you want to convince me further."

Even without the Charm person, he still likes him! It's just now taking up a comparatively more reasonable amount of his surface thoughts.

...this is very confusing.

Yeah, it would be more fun than this discussion. But-- he isn't going to trample over Tanidio's boundaries just because Tanidio would prefer to pretend they didn't exist. (And the attitude of 'powerful people get what they want, even if what they want is a pretty wizard' and Tanidio trying to convince him that he's more important--) "If you're allowed to convince me I'm important, I'm allowed to do the same."

The Detect Thoughts is about to wear off but Tanidio catches that thought before it does. 

"How about I tell you what I like in bed and we agree to disagree about whether it matters for its own sake? --I'm not going to lie to you if you don't want me to."
