"Foreshadow." ...does he want a handshake?

Okay, very cautious handshake of someone who had gotten some bad reactions today.

"You're welcome?" It wasn't really a big deal, and he seems... less anxious, now, which is good.

"-huh, not bad," he will let go, though, unless she clings; she can't be more than eighteen at most, he doesn't want to send any creepy messages here.

Yeah, she's not clinging, although she gives her hand a thoughtful look when she takes it back. That was a little more than she got from Zara.

(Not enough to make it a good idea to use her power properly, and he's much older than her. But -- probably worth keeping in contact, in case she doesn't find someone in time.)

"That's the best so far," she agrees, cautiously.

"...Jamie has all our cards," he sighs, "I can get you my agent's number off my phone, and mine, if you want it. Good to have backups, especially now."

"...I would appreciate it. I don't live near here, though."

"We live in Winnipeg, north-west of here, in Canada. I know a teleporter, though."

Out comes the phone, and he hunts down the contact information he needs, offering her the screen once it's all there.

She will record all this on her own phone. ...and look up Havarti cheese, while she has it open.

"Thank you. ...Havarti's probably the spotted one."

"You think so?"

He looks down at the napkin. He picks up the non-spotted one and pops it in his own mouth.

"Hmm."

He shrugs, "You got an agency? Potential partner besides me?"

She shows him the Wikipedia page. "Yeah."

...and then she looks down. "Not yet. Researching agencies. There's... not a lot public, which makes sense. I met a girl at the last mixer I was at, she said she'd hold my hand through official power testing if I needed it, but I... don't think she wants to deal with dungeons."

He will open his notes app, while also peering at the havarti page. He writes down 'rindless' 'smooth' 'buttery smell' and 'cream to yellow'. He looks down at the cheese he didn't eat and nods, "Think you're right. She really liked this one," he explains. "My partner, I mean. She's, uh. Pregnant."

Phone goes away, and he's back to business.

"I'm not much of a dungeon esper, either - my backlash rate is pretty bad, for combat. If you need someone for the Confluence, though, I can do that, and you can look for something better after it. My partner probably won't be dungeon-ready in time."

"...oh. Bad time for it." How old is his partner There is no good way to ask that. "If I don't find someone before then," she agrees. She hasn't poked everyone here yet (just most of the people her age), and there's still the Seattle mixer. "I'm a sensor, or I probably couldn't get certified in time."

But sensors don't need to know how to fight just how to use their power and follow directions. (...and not wander off, but as long someone's reminding her she should be fine even if it gets bad.)

"Mm," he nods, "We're in a room over there," he points to the door leading to the hall of breakout rooms, "Third on the right. Come sit with us if you need a break, or some guiding; no funny business, promise. They were talking dungeon gadgets when I left."

On the one hand, that sounds interesting.

On the other hand, that isn't not 'alone with strange adults'.

"I have more people to meet," she says, "but thanks for the offer."

He nods, "There's resources for new espers you can pretty much trust," he tells her, between covering a yawn with his hand. "I'll send you some links, if you want, through my agent or through text, whatever you're okay with. Might help you with the agent problem; there's some pretty good review systems."

"Thank you," she repeats. "I would appreciate that."

"Welcome." He turns to leave, offering a limp wave, "Thanks for the cheese help."

"You're welcome. I hope your -- girlfriend? -- appreciates it."

Small smile, "Me too," he runs a hand through his hair, "Just got the last bits out."

...oh, he definitely cares about his partner, that was fond. A good sign.
