"I used to sneak out of the creche to spend more time in the library. I'm not sure if that should count."

"Perhaps the way an early apprenticeship does."

Nod. "Makes sense. Kind of what that time was."

"Of course, you have more opportunities for gaining experience now."

"That's the good thing about missions."

"It is." There's more fondness in her. "Even if some teachers throw you off the deep end."

Heavy, amused sigh. "Mostly this team. The Senator has odd ideas about teaching."

"Seems like she has odd ideas about learning, from what she demonstrated during our conversations on the trip."

"I don't think most Senators are quite so mechanically inclined."
