...not exactly how she'd put it, but she's not going to add anything. (She's so tired.)

"Hmmmmm, I haven't written a beginner's guide to Highhelm, have I, and it's not like anything that hack Jeshtain has written anything passable..." muses Jubilost.

"But we lightly raid the lich's lair for his valuables first," says Sivetrys. "Really, I should have thrown some of my unused Greater Dispels at some random bits of the area before hiding in the Rope Trick for a nap, but the Gate and cleric kidnapping freaked me out. That's on me, sorry guys."

Uma frowns. "I need a bit. To mix an extract. for trapfinding."

Luto nods. "Umakhi is very good at breaking traps down once we know where they are, but without her poti-" (She sees Uma inhale to correct her) "-extract for it, she's not great at finding them in the first place. I can help her with the searching, too." She taps her goggles.

"Jubilost and I managed to get all of the big ones in this room, we think, but an extra pair of hands and eyes aren't going to hurt."

"Unless those hands go wandering. Please do not touch anything potentially valuable until after it has been checked over by a professional." He is looking directly at Linzi as he says this. "And our baronness will be on dispel standby."

Jubilooooost you're embarrassing her in front of the other partyyyyy!!!!

And also it only happened one time!

She smiles sympathetically at Linzi and stage-whispers "the others still haven't let me live down the Cursed Ring Incident, and it was years ago."

She's busy mixing a concoction but is paying enough attention to add "the bracelet was this year."

"Ok, well, yes, but it wasn't cursed, it was just! opinionated!"

(Thank you, Uma, she thinks privately.)

This earns a little giggle from Linzi.

"Truly unfair, that some of us will never live down our mistakes," says Sivetrys, in a perfect deadpan.

"Oh, like you can talk, Miss Fireball-your-own-party! You're why I even learned the communal version of Resist Energy! I live in fear of you freaking out at there being too many spiders again."

"In my defense," she replies with a laugh, "There were a lot of spiders, and they died first, and we didn't!"

They can, in this way, turn carefully combing over a small part of the demilich's tomb for traps and loot into an inter-party bonding exercise. That hopefully distracts them all from the very sad problems that they have yet to fix.

...Oh, that was very nicely done. Luto approves. (...She misses Zan) they'll get her back soon!

First, though, there's a tomb to search. Luto has very acute senses, and she can point out a few different spots where things don't seem to be quite right.

And once they're pointed out, Umakhi methodically disables them, mostly in normal, uninteresting ways. (She also catches a few that Luto misses, courtesy her alchemically-enhanced senses.)

At one point, she frowns, sighs, drinks one of her extracts, and then, concentrating, mixes and throws a bomb into an illusion-covered hole in the wall, watching with satisfaction as - nothing visible happens.

This is a fascinating method of disarming traps, and Linzi is absolutely going to gush about it! In a way that doesn't, actually, require Uma to explain anything in particular, because she gets Jubilost to explain it for her.

Jubilost, finding the bomb based disarm of a trap intellectually novel, and also in the habit of enjoying hearing himself talk, finds this division of labor acceptable.

He's getting a few technical details wrong, which she corrects absentmindedly, but she certainly doesn't seem to mind having to talk less!

She keeps looking for traps and hidden rooms. If Vakt were alive...

...Yeah. (She gently pats Uma on the head as she moves past to look at this unexamined corner.)

Somewhat awkwardly: there is a preserved body in an alcove in this unexamined corner! (Under an illusion.)

"Ah. Maegar Varn. That.... will make his resurrection a little easier, I guess????" says the woman who recognizes him immediately. Ugh. Kept in the demilich's corpse pantry. She attempts to peer around Luto, floating behind her because stepping on the ground is how you accidentally activate traps, and her Overland Flight is still up.

She misses Ridaya she ducks out of Sivetrys's way. "How did you know him?" she asks softly.

"Baron of the local polity, and head of a mercenary company called the Varnling Host. He's about the only one of my neighbors that I reliably get along with; he helped my people out when we -" she does not want to get into the nonsense that was what they locally call 'The Season of Bloom.' "- had a magical plague. So."
