Ridaya cou failing to cast a scroll of a spell you shouldn't be able to cast at all is harmless - it either works or it doesn't.

"Luto, can you..."

Uma... "Her scroll case, right?" She leans Zan forward to root around in her backpack and pulls out an overstuffed scroll case.

"Here." She tosses it at Umakhi, perhaps sliiightly harder than necessary.

(Zan makes a small noise - Luto gives her a concerned look and a hug.)

She catches it (?ow?) and pops it open, sorting through the scrolls inside. Once she's found the one she's looking for, she silently hands it to Linzi.

Who casts it without any trouble, really. It's only first circle; those are easy, even divine ones.

Luto is poked with the knowledge of Taldane.

"Does this mean we all speak a language in common now?"

Share Language feels weeeiiird! (This isn't the first time it's been cast on her, but it has been a while.)

Right, okay. What would Zan do.

"Thank you again for all your help," she says, now that Ekundayo and Linzi can understand her, "and please don't worry about the cost of the scroll - we used it on me, after all."

"Oh! Um." Oh no, words, saying words in the physical reality she's been forcibly tethered to, under pressure and with no time to think through her words properly. With the pretty girl she was cuddling!!! Linzi was not prepared for this moment!!!!! "It's nice to be able to properly speak with you."

Ekundayo, also not being a words person, inclines his head respectfully.

There is at least one words person present, though!

"Okay! Now that we can all understand each other - so I think our plan should be do a quick pass of just this section of the tomb for loot, as low risk as possible for a lich's lair. I'm particularly thinking of diamonds, for obvious reasons; he might have had some in storage somewhere. Then, I break the teleport traps so we can more carefully loot the place later, and then we all go teleporting off to a major city - I recommend Highhelm or Caliphas as teleport destinations - to see about fixing, uh. Everything?"

Oh, look, Sivi is talking, and so Linzi is having a much easier time finding her words again.

"Does 'everything' there include someone stealing our cleric? Please tell me it includes dealing with that!! Because no, seriously, can we please actually talk about what even was that!"

"Ah. Um. Right. So, for one, I think that was a Gate. For another - okay, so, Gates can technically grab non-outsiders, but the way it grabbed him was - like it was grabbing an outsider?"

"Have you seen any Gates before?" says Jubilost, archly.

"Well, no, people aren't really lining up to cast Gates for educational purposes, but it, it's - the ultra powerful grandfather of callings and summonings, so it's not unlike what I do. I'm a conjuration specialist, recall, I do actually make it my job to know these things. I don't know for sure, but once Uma mentioned it - I think she's right."

(Luto smiles warmly at Linzi as Sivetrys is talking, and nods along at the suggested plans. Looting and then going somewhere with clerics sounds good to her!)

Umakhi nods. "It looks... very different. Read about it..." she tilts her head, pausing to think. "...Advanced Conjuration Notes, Heeler & Vosesso, but... it's obvious, from the spellform."

Sivetrys nods, seriously. "Right. Which means that the obvious way to get him back is to just. Call him back. With a spell. I'm sixth circle, Planar Binding is theoretically possible for me."

"..... would that work?"

"Probably? If he's not under a Dimensional Anchor or something, which, I mean, he was kidnapped, so. He might be."

"Planar Binding would work, but that means whoever took him... could have used Planar Binding... And cast Gate, instead."

(She doesn't sound very happy about the implications, for obvious reasons.)

"Planar Binding allows for the subject to resist, if they want to, and then returns them once the calling is complete. A Gate doesn't allow either. Though, it's not cheap to use it that way, so. I was thinking I should buy a commune from Sarenrae and ask Her if it would be in Her interests to counter-kidnap Her cleric."

"And Tristian wouldn't refuse your Planar Binding, because you're... you? And he could tell? That it's you?"

"...... Probably?" says Sivetrys, without a lot of confidence.

"Personally, if I were kidnapped, I'd happily accept a random calling from anyone to escape the tedium of prison..."

"...He'd know it's you. Works like Raise Dead."

"Then he won't resist! Though... he will awkwardly have a return to his jail cell-or-whatever on his calling, though. Since your thing comes with the return part. Which. Sounds bad."
