She laughs.

"Speaking of facts - do you have anything else for me?"

"General gossip, mostly. It's been pretty quiet here since the Emperor died."

"It's more of a long term concern than the Mythic Dawn, but - I want to make sure the transition of power goes as smoothly as it can. With the short term there - the Mythic Dawn might think to target anyone who's successfully keeping things coherent or who'd support a new Septim. And anyone sufficiently power hungry might think they're using the Mythic Dawn to support their own rise, or might just try to take advantage."

"So... I'll be in the market for politics, now."

"Not strictly our usual trade, but I'll keep my ears open. Ask around a bit."

"A lot of things are secretly politics when you're good at people."

Well, if she wants to be buried under a tide of almost everything Renardine has seen or heard of happening involving people in the Imperial City, that can be arranged.

Maybe a little bit more focused than that. Though Lilou quickly reveals a good bit of how much she can extrapolate. (There's only so much she'll give Renardine about the upcoming Septim, but she'll concede to 'priestess of Akatosh from Kvatch, Septim bastard' as something Renardine can figure out on her own and as relevant here.)

But she can take a lot of Renardine's deluge of information and turn it into information she can nearly immediately trade back - both clues about where to keep looking for the Mythic Dawn, but also who might be corrupt, who might be pursuing undesired business in the sort of blind spots the Guild has trouble penetrating, who's recently come into some money but is hiding it more successfully than usual, who's anticipating coming into some money and is keeping that close to their chest, who's looking at the deaths of the royal family as an opportunity, who might try to challenge the rule of law...

(Speculation, mostly, and instinct as much as experience, but Lilou would be a terrifyingly effective spymaster once she fully integrated herself.)

(The girl really is limiting herself in her chosen career. She was hoping to poach her for the Guild, has been working on that for a number of years, in fact- But a known quantity in a new government is a decent second prize.)

"...and that's about everything," she finishes.

"Thank you."

Then: "Maybe if you make a really big break I'll share my deeper secrets."

"Maybe I'll just focus more effort on you in particular."

"You're welcome to try."

"We'll see."

"Only if you aren't any good at sneaking."

"Outside of our game, is there anything else you care to share with me, your favorite and best friend?"

Smile, and glance at Bérengère, who's been lurking in the background. "Come here, lovely," she says, gesturing to the floor in front of her.

She kneels down where indicated.

"Good girl," she says, pulling back Bérengère's hood and petting her hair.

...Huh.

"Well, well."

Ear scritch. "Introducing my beautiful, long lost twin, Bérengère."

"Hello! A perfectly storybook tale! Empires in danger, heroic champions meeting beautiful women..."

Grin. "More of a splash than I've ever worked for."

"Twins, though. How does that happen?" Her gaze is maybe a little hungry.
