She saw the whole thing, officers, these two citizens were defending themselves after an unprovoked attack with lethal weapons. No need to take them in (as she leans in to subtly drop a pouch of coin in the sergeant's hand), but their service in getting these attempted murderers off the street is surely appreciated by everyone.

- Lilou recognizes one of the guards. He'd in fact been one of the ones she gave a subtle heads up to.

She makes eye contact and tips her head very slowly at the two. He stiffens - and nods. (The guards are going to so very much arrest these two - about your day, citizens.)

Lilou heaves a sigh of relief once they're off. (They'll need to follow up - or at least send information to the Blades...)

"As good an excuse as any to leave," she murmurs to Lilou, "if you're not dying for a drink right now."

"No. I'm not."

"Your place or mine?"

"Yours."

"Fair enough. Give me a five minute head start to clean up the dirty dishes."

"Will do."

And off she goes.

They head out, too.

Renardine's flat is in the Waterfront, just around the corner from Dareloth's Garden. The door is unlocked for them.

Good.

She does keep an eye on their surroundings as she's walking - makes sure they're not being tailed - which gives Renardine the requested delay.

In.

She's got three shot glasses with a generous measure of brandy in each on the table.

"So."

"So. - Sorry about getting you tangled in this, but. I need help."

"Have you heard of the Mythic Dawn?"

"The ones that assassinated the royal family."

"Yeah."

"Those two were agents of them - I'm guessing decently involved ones since those spells are distinctive - and I need to figure out more about the Mythic Dawn and - stop them."

"You know the saying is set a thief to catch a thief, right, not set a thief to catch an assassin."

"Tragically, the Dark Brotherhood have a religious objection to assisting security, pen-testing, or investigation against assassination, even by other groups."

"They are unfortunately dogmatic about that. Still, there's something reassuring knowing that there's at least some people still around not entirely motivated by material profit."

Grin.

"I think I've become one of them," she says with an almost amazed (and teasing) expression. "Downright patriotic, even."

"Nothing like knowing the throne is up for grabs to get you wanting to protect it?"

Smirk. "Give me some to get some."

Her vulpine ears twitch in amusement. "All right, if that's how you want to play it."

"It is." Her own wolf ears relax into a friendly half-tilt.

"For starters... someone's been watching your place. Couple of the kiddos spotted the stakeout when they went to take a crack at your door. They're sloppy, amateurs, no connection any organization I know about, but dedicated- eyes on your door around the clock."
