She laughs and - with a flourish entirely unnecessary for equipping something from her inventory - a ring manifests on her finger. Its band is an eerie black, set with a glistening silver moon behind a golden star, a distinctive cluster of sapphires at its center. 

"May I introduce myself again? I am Dar-Kha'azi - Nerevarine of the Tribes of Ahemmusa, Erabenimsun, Urshilaku, and Zainab; Hortator of the Great Houses Hlaalu, Redoran, and Telvanni; Ambassador of the Tamrielic Empire to Akavir; and Spymaster of the Blades."

Berengere now has additional questions.

She raises an eyebrow.

"Why aren't you in Morrowind?"

"There were... Concerns, evidently, about an independence movement gaining steam in my presence, and I am, regardless, better suited to announcing a candidate I approve of than I am to ruling."

"After I returned from Akavir, I was sent to Summerset Isle for talks - but I returned to Cyrodiil when I received news that the Emperor's family was being targeted."

"And you were passing through Kvatch when the daedra attacked."

"Yes - though I had slowed down to start gathering intelligence and finding what networks still exist. Returning to the Imperial City as the Nerevarine could be - incendiary, if I approached it incautiously, and I didn't know if it'd be better for me to travel straight to Morrowind."

"What a fortuitous coincidence."

"Life is made of those."

"So it is." She stands. "I will return in a moment."

"See you then."

And Elliane goes to settle her affairs.

"We are lucky to have met you," Berengere says to Azi.

"And I'm lucky to have met you - I haven't been able to make contact with other Blades since landing in Anvil."

"Many have died. We weren't ready for the Mythic Dawn."

" - It's been a long time since I've heard that name."

"They're the ones behind the attacks on the royal family."

"Fucking Dagon."

Sigh. "Yeah."

"Did any heirs survive?" she asks, in the tone of a woman calculating exactly how much of an army she can levy against a god.

"Only one," she says, looking in Elliane's direction.

" - I can see it," she says with a speculative look in Elliane's direction. " - And, also, that's a lot more convenient than none."

"There's still hope," she agrees. "If we can get her to the Amulet of Kings."
