Nia wants a Hawaiian shirt and chinos and a ridiculous fake mustache.

Nia can absolutely have those things! Sean can have a pink jumper and a turquoise skirt, howabout. 

Wearing these things will not do him grievous bodily harm, sure.

A girl who looks vaguely familiar, except she's really very strikingly pretty so maybe Kareen's just happened to blink and miss her at every meal, shows up in a dark purple shirt with a normal amount of Scholomance damage and a pair of lace-pocket pants. "I should probably dress up a little more than this," she murmurs in a low alto voice.

Kareen herself is wearing a bowtie and a tweed jacket with elbow patches. The bowtie and the elbow patches both have eyes on them. 

Kareen's fathers are both trans, albeit only one is still wearing their original body, and she has variously enhanced eyes on top of that. She absolutely recognizes this vision of beauty, and actually does not realize she isn't supposed to.

"I have dressier clothing than that! What's your fancy?"

If she was hoping to be scolded for failing to show up in drag she is disappointed. "Any chance of browsing or is there not enough space?"

Kareen has a big armoire full of varyingly impractical options, "but if you want a customized version of something don't hesitate to let me know."

She looks through the armoire and eventually pulls out a drop-waist one-shoulder number. "This but in the same purple as my shirt?"

Kareen pulls it out and hands it over. 

And Ennis ducks into the changing booth to put it on, and comes out again.

"Gorgeous."

Curtsy. "Thank you."

Kareen fails to parse this as “who is that” instead of “wow Ennis is really good at makeup.” Beholding doesn’t make you immune to typical-minding and they’re both from Manchester and thus know each other.
