Well he could pull away, or push Dayo, or any number of things that are not kissing him!

Could.

But why would he do that.

Who knows! Not Dayo, he's not the telepathic one.

[Damn Speech.]

[We should maybe get going.]

[Yes. Yes we should.]

He is still pressing Anthony against a wall.

He is.

[… We probably have about a minute before we actually really need to get going,]

Then it will be a very enjoyable minute!

And then he pulls away, sighing.

[We should do that more often.]

[If we survive tomorrow, I'll definitely take you up on that.]

[Joy of joys.]

Speech-wards.

They reach a small auditorium, housing some twenty seats—there are others where some other people are going to watch, it wouldn't do to make this seem too impersonal—and Dayo finds an empty one to Vivian's left.

Anthony seems like he's going to follow Dayo, but then notices someone else in the room, looking quite tired, and decides to go sit next to them instead.

Once everyone's there, a woman (not the same one from breakfast) shows up and climbs the steps to the stage.

"Hello! I hope everyone's enjoyed their mornings."

Anthony nods quietly.

"Our Leader's Speech will begin in just a few minutes. Please make yourselves comfortable, as usual, and smile big for him!"

Of course.

And after a few minutes, the cinema screen comes alive with the Leader's image.

"Good morning, world!"

"Good morning," responds Anthony, smiling.

As does everyone else.

"It is now precisely eleven twenty-nine and fifty-four seconds," he says, but of course this sounds different depending on what timezone's watching. "And I am so very happy to see that you are all here and well."

He suddenly turns serious and looks at one specific person... somewhere. "Except you, Lucas Flynn, you're late."

And he's happy again. "But everyone else's here! Today's a bright Saturday and we have news! Tomorrow's delivery day, and because of everyone's hard work we've upped the allowed dose of chocolate per citizen by fifteen grams per week!"

Yay! Anthony looks happy and tries to look thankful about this!

Of course! Why wouldn't he? But given that he's in a compound he actually normally gets even more chocolate than the average citizen.

"And also, given that it's Saturday, it's time to select this week's big winner who will be able to spend a whole day in the main compound! They may even see me!"

Ooooooh, thinks Anthony (quietly), completely without sarcasm.

(There is a lot of sarcasm.)

"So! Let's see who the lucky one is..." He waves a hand and a set of self-rolling drums is conjured out of thin air, and then a flowery envelope appears, and he makes a show of opening it and reading it. "One Vera Clover, number two billion seventeen million five hundred and seventy-three thousand eight hundred and four!" He beams brightly at the camera.
