Down in the forest, there is a tree.
What's left of one, anyway.
The Nemeton calls another supernatural creature to its town.
The blood that drips onto it forms a circle.
"Something more locally relevant. I'm not quite ready to go fully public."
"There are the remnants of a werewolf pack here. They were mostly living amongst humans peacefully, but the majority were recently murdered. Some of them are interested in forming a sort of private sanctuary. You could help with that, if you were interested."

An employee will be with her eventually, it's not a big store.
"Hey. You just browsing, or do you want help finding something?"
He leaves her to examine the comic books. The available literature is mostly superheroes with unusual powers, a few post-apocalyptic stories, and surrealist exploration of human psychology or two.
She can try the police station, if she wants to enlist the authorities for anything. She can also try looking for strange monsters herself.
The problem with that idea is she has almost no idea what she is actually looking for.
She'll wander slowly in the general direction of the forest and see if she sees anything.
No strange monsters appear!
There's a light breeze, and the forest is brightly lit by the mid-morning sun. Perhaps not a good time to look for monsters.
Midnight is far more dramatically appropriate.
But if she's alone, she can go flying. As long as she gets high enough fast enough that no one can see her. Which is trivially doable.
