And the darkness fades away. The false facade did as well, but she didn't notice. As expected.

"I have nothing for a ghoul's touch except patience. If whatever struck Tomas is longer lasting than that, we may need to wait and rely on Yanor for a solution."

Tomas unfreezes within thirty seconds. He stumbles for a moment. "Paralysis rays. That could have gone much worse. We're fortunate they were quite weak."

"It certainly could have! Slitting a throat with those claws might leave them open to retaliation, but that is little comfort to the dead. I wonder what happened to the fourth. We may wish to take one back with us if we have the space. I haven't heard of this style of construct in the past, and these were small and relatively fragile. If they are as easy to construct as their scale would suggest, the chance to reconstruct the recipe would be valuable to the right buyer. I do not know that the remains are worth their weight in gold, but it is possible."

"We can collect one when we reverse course. If we end up with too many very heavy objects, we might have to make multiple trips."

"It's a good sign we're having that problem."

"Indeed. The advantage of paralysis rays is that when we shake them off, they leave minimal trace, so I believe we are all unharmed? Onwards once Tomas has checked for any secret doors, in that case."

Tomas leads them down the hallway and around a corner.

An incredibly realistically rendered mural decorates an alcove here. The painting depicts a grand assembly hall thronged with hundreds of adoring spectators focused on a beautiful woman who stands upon on a dais, arms outstretched as she addresses those gathered. Behind her, several nude men and women are chained between upright pillars.

He holds out a hand. "Trap! The floor is trapped."

"Can you disable it?" Detect Magic. Are there any potential magical triggers for the trap?

Tomas crouches down next to the wall and pulls a panel off. He spends perhaps half a minute fiddling with a bizarre mechanical contraption. "It should be disabled now."

"Thank you kindly."

Anything on Detect Magic?

The trap is not magical. The long hallway ahead of them doesn't have anything more unusual than is typical here.

"If there are more magical traps, they are appropriately obscured. Onwards, then, checking for secret doors as we go?" Tomas appears to be doing that, but it's still worth mentioning in case any of the others spot something he doesn't. (In theory she might, but she has very little idea what to look for.)
