A total of ten wooden and iron doors line the walls of this long hall—five doors to a side. Each door bears an identical inscription on its face, as does the blank wall at the western end. Only the easternmost door to the north seems to have a different inscription on it—this door is also caked with a sheen of frost.

"Thassilonian? What do the inscriptions say? The western wall must bear some sort of path, given this setup, but the frozen door is more mysterious."

Yanor takes some time to translate. "Every door except the frozen one says 'Thou wouldst enter? Then thou must touch!'. The frozen door says 'Thou wouldst enter to enjoy the company of the Runelord of Lust herself? Then thou must touch!'"

"There's a magical trap on the frozen door."

Is Yanor actually translating these into an older dialect of Taldane because they're Thassilonian and therefore old. That's adorable. What a delightful translation convention. (Also, lust was correct. Unsurprising.)

...Best to recognize it. She grins, apparently involuntarily, before speaking.

"Good to know! The frost did rather imply a trap. Can you seek the mechanism for opening the wall? I will investigate the magic in the area, and perhaps one or the other shall prove informative." Detect Magic.

The doors and wall have faint transmutation auras. The frozen door has a moderate evocation aura.

Tomas walks to the end of the hall and inspects the wall.

"Transmutation for all the doors, most likely a simple Open/Close from the context though it may be something hiding behind that pretense. The frozen door has an additional layer of evocation. I would guess that Tomas's trap. We should at least explore the non-trapped rooms, and perhaps the trapped if it can be disarmed. If not... pitting ourselves against even the millenia-old remnants of what a Runelord set to guard her bedroom seems foolish."

"I can't see any obvious mechanism to open the wall..." He walks over to one of the doors and touches it briefly.

The door swings open! Inside is a well-furnished bedroom. The temperature is unnaturally perfect within.

It is what the inscriptions said. Slightly risky, but having lies there would be weird if this was intended to be inhabited at some point, and the bedrooms do point in that direction.

Is there anything particularly magical within? There are the ambient effects and clearly some further comfort enchantments, but does a Detect catch anything else?

There's a moderate transmutation aura in this room that isn't present in the hall. Nothing else seems to be magical.

"Moderate transmutation in here, presumably the preservation enchantment, and nothing else. It may be innately permanent? If there is a Permanency I may have lost it in the other spells, but I cannot make it out. Worth sketching just in case. Tomas, if you wish to tamper with the trap, please warn me that I may prepare myself in case of failure."

Sketch time!

Tomas peeks his head in. "It's a magic item, not a spell. I think it's either tied to the room or it is the room. Strange."

"Ah, unfortunate. Useful but most likely less valuable. Check the other rooms, then, and thereafter you may examine the trap as you wish, and once both are done we go through the wall?"

The other rooms are identical to the one they just searched.

Tomas spends a minute working on the frozen door. "I can't seem to disable the trap. Probably best to leave it alone."

"The wall, then, unless we wish to let Lhín attempt to open it while the rest of us are well away and through a solid object. And even if we do, best to leave that for before sleep."

Julen can do the actual wall-poking though. If something ambushes them on the other side, Julen should be the first in line.

Julen touches the wall.

Nothing seems to happen.

He runs his hand across the text printed on the wall.

A door sized section of the wall swings open.

This opulent marble chamber is dominated by an enormous bed that sits on a raised dais. The walls bear frescos of a woodland scene, with leering satyrs chasing nubile nymphs. A domed ceiling inlaid with mother-of-pearl rises twenty feet above the opulent bedchamber.

"Fancy, even compared to the other rooms."

"I wonder what was behind the frozen door, given this. The various substances of which this is formed would be worth quite a bit, but I expect extracting it to be difficult and transporting it at least equally so. Most likely not worth our time?"

Detect Magic. Anything here that wasn't in the other bedrooms?

The temperature and cleanliness effect from the other bedrooms is present here. There doesn't seem to be anything else of magical note. A set of closed double doors at the north end of the room leads elsewhere.
