"We were always going to have to enter physically. The barricade is lowered without harm to ourselves. We should push forward."

"I need to clean you off first. They'll be able to smell the rot otherwise." Create water.

Julen is now soaked. "Tencednil has prestidigitation could you not have—"

He laughs. "This is more fun."

She grins and sighs momentarily. And then Prestidigitates him non-stinky, because water dumped over your head is not actually as good at removing accumulated filth as even a loose Prestidigitation. Scrubbing well would be, but water dumped on your head is not exactly a thorough and complete washing and drying.

"In, then, and we hope they accept the fog. When I call out that I am casting a spell with a letter, know that it is in fact a figment — spell A, spell Q, and such. I will leave numbers for any tactical planning we wish to do, but presenting a broad range of warnings for illusions seems of value."

And she starts folding up the telescope back into its Anytool form, ready to follow where Julen leads. (Yanor? Julen seems to be the more experienced in tactics, though.)

Julen leads them back over to the cave entrance. "How close do you want to be when you cast the illusion?"

"I'll need to maintain focus on it, so I won't be much use in combat while it's active. If we clear the room cleanly it won't be an issue, but if we don't we may need to flee. If they land a solid hit on me, it may well break..."

She nods. "How much do you three expect a cloud of fog you can see through to help? If that should be sufficient to handle the tribe, I can stay well back, just in Message range, and support with more images and Bursts as needed if they all come out. If you expect to need me actively casting my Color Sprays, I will need to be closer, and you should not rely on the fog to last longer than a few moments if I am engaged by one of them."

"This plan seems like a good option. I expect a cloud of fog we can see through to help quite a bit."

"I will stay a hundred feet back or so, then." Message. "Tell me when you are prepared, and I will cast the Image."

She keeps whispering along the link as the others close in on the cave, making sure she'll hear a reply.

Her party members sneak up next to the cave entrance.

"Now." Tomas whispers across the message link.

Silent Image. The area the barricade was in is covered in a cloud of apparent fog, as is another ten feet to either edge of the cave. "Image up. It's an illusion, you should be able to see though it. If you can't, whisper and I'll call flaws as I see them."

Julen moves forward into the cave. "I can't see through the fog." He whispers over the message link.

"Blast. Julen can't see yet. One ten feet ahead of you, five to your left, if you want to try without sight. Or you can wait for me to spot something that might help."

He follows her directions and slices at the troglodyte he finds. The fog makes it too hard to aim. Miss.

A different troglodyte yells something in Draconic.

She maintains the Image. "I can't jerk the fog without giving the troglodytes a chance to catch it. If you get close to the edge I can try a coordinated movement which should be clear from the outside but not in, or you can look for a flaw on your own. Try waving your hand through it quickly, the feel should be a little off and that might snap its effect for you. Or examine it and find the flaws, I'm sure there are some."

Two troglodytes search within the fog for foes. They don't find any. The cave is very big.

Tomas strides forward into the fog and spears the troglodyte next to Julen with his new magic rapier. It collapses to the ground.

A third troglodyte hears that but their perceptive abilities are very poor.

Yanor walks calmly into the fog and gives one of the troglodytes a deep glare. They spontaneously fall asleep.

Julen waves a hand through the fog. It seems to fade away before him. He studies one of the other troglodytes intently.

One of the troglodytes calls out for reinforcements again. They search the cave for the intruders and find Tomas and Julen. They don't have enough time left to attack.

"Julen, you can see now? I'll hold the fog, tell me if you see reinforcements."

She holds the fog and closes in a little. Nobody seems to be watching for her so far, so as long as she steps lightly and doesn't need to announce herself with any more spells, she should be fine getting closer.

"I can see. No reinforcements yet."
