She raises an eyebrow and relaxes. "You're not lying." She turns back to her meal prep, pausing the cooking process, and goes to sit across from Acererak. "Is that reason shareable?"

"Yes - and you're taking this well."

Her alt snorts. "An alternate universe me feels less weird than some of the other things I've run into."

"Fair enough." She shrugs. "May I have your name?"

"Sure. I'm Lace. And you were going to share why you came here - ?"

She nods and tries not to fidget. "It's perhaps a bit of a story - but, well, I have this girlfriend, and her birthday's in two days..."

Laugh. "And our first interdimensional contact since the dawn of the universe is a booty call?"

She laughs a bit, too. "You could say that, I suppose."

"Sounds fun."

She raises an eyebrow. "That easily?"

"Well, I'm hot, and I know I have good taste..."

Heh.

"We'd want to hurt you, quite a bit. Maybe keep you for a time."

"I have three weeks of paid leave saved up, and nothing major scheduled coming up. Two days is enough warning for the museum to cover for me."

"You," she says, "Are a strange me."

Her smile softens. "You're not a masochist, are you?"

She shakes her head. "Not at all."

"And your girlfriend's a sadist."

She nods. "A delightfully inventive one."

"So you tracked down a masochistic you - that's adorable."

She blushes a bit. "Yes, well, only the best for her..."

"Well, I'm delighted to be the bizarrely masochistic and easy us, then."

She grins. "Good."

Heh.

"For limits - I'm down with everything that'll leave me alive and free at the end. I'm a demigod of Battle, so I can survive pretty extreme injury, but I'd rather not test my immortality too much... And I'd like to at least get a chance to return here before my three weeks of leave are up, I've put down some roots that're worth at least being more careful about undoing."

"I can be careful - though I do have lossless resurrection..."

"Extreme risky injury objection withdrawn, though I'd recommend leaving how far you go there up to your girlfriend."
