Losing the battle to her alts and their hangers-on is moderately obnoxious. Still... That's a clever group. She'll have to remember them and their tricks.

The combined forces of everyone whose souls she stole - now resurrected by the alt who shares her face - tear her body apart. Inconvenient.

Acererak drifts, for a while, and then -

Her body reforms, of course.

(Did they really think killing a lich who could challenge gods would be so simple?)

She leans against her phylactery for a while, as her body finishes knitting itself together. She then renews the protections on it, opens a portal...

And leaves.

Staying in her demiplane would be boring, but returning to her usual stomping grounds isn't smart, right now - so a new world it is. Hopefully one with resources she can exploit.

Acererak steps through, stretching her neck, and looks around at where she's landed.

Permalink Mark Unread

There doesn't seem to be much in the way of exploitable resources in the immediate area. There is, however, a positive surfeit of mud. The earth is a nearly-uniform grayish brown, pockmarked by craters of varying depth in which a few flames still gutter. It's difficult to tell the time of day through the thick cloud cover, only a few shades lighter than the ground below. The air is thick with the acrid stench of fuel and spent gunpowder, almost covering the coppery tang of spilt blood.

Permalink Mark Unread

Ah, a war zone, and a recent one. Nostalgic. Better technology or magic than her usual worlds, too...

She flies up into the air, deciding there's no real point in bothering with the mud. Even if her clothes are enchanted not to get dirty - well, it's the aesthetic that counts.

Permalink Mark Unread

There is a whistling sound, rising in pitch, and something is streaking through the air to kill her.

Permalink Mark Unread

Cute.

Her heat signature (and image) is suddenly far enough away from her she'll be unaffected by any blasts.

Permalink Mark Unread

The rocket screams through a sharp turn to its new target position.

The explosion is quite large.

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh, she underestimated that.

Still, she's unruffled, after briefly flickering ethereal.

She keeps flying up, away from the false target.

Permalink Mark Unread

Another pair of missiles are sent to futilely attack.

From her higher vantage, she can see the battery that fired them and the encampment surrounding it. The tents seem like semipermanent structures, divided into neat rows. Parked between every few tents is an armored vehicle with a pair of long barrels on a swivel mount on top.

Permalink Mark Unread

Interesting enough to investigate.

She stays high in the air, almost idly flying over.

Permalink Mark Unread

A figure wrapped in a green glow rises into the air from near the middle of the encampment and streaks over to where Acererak left her decoy. It pauses there for a moment, then begins following her path through the air.

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh, somebody over there's clever - and decently powerful, it looks like.

Acererak holds still, idly weaving protective spells and preparations around herself. (It'd be somewhat obnoxious to have to reform again so soon, and of course eventually she'll wear through her stash of functionally identical magic items.)

Permalink Mark Unread

The figure quickly approaches, resolving into a young woman who appears in her late teens wearing a dark outfit: a long, slim coat over a lace-up shirt with the top ones left undone and a trim pair of pants that flare slightly at the ankles for the high-heeled boots.

She's murmuring something as she arrives, the sound stolen away by the wind, and her eyes flash as she looks Acererak over. "And who, pray tell, are you supposed to be?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She grins and bows extravagantly. (She's wearing a purple robe with silver eye designs picked out in gleaming threads, and an elaborate headband, a silver and amethyst necklace that seems oddly arresting, gloves decorated with images of daggers, silver filigree boots, a wood and silver and amethyst staff slung on her back... Just of her visible items, of course.)

"Why, I am Acererak, the Devourer and the Lady of Unlife. And who might you be?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"...Eliese."

Permalink Mark Unread

"A good name. Tell me, Eliese, is this," and she gestures broadly, encompassing the destruction around them, "Your handiwork?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Most of it." She cocks her head to the side. "Are you a fan?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Laugh. "I'm too newly arrived to be a devoted fan just yet, but it does look rather impressive from where I'm standing."

Permalink Mark Unread

She smiles, tight and angry.

"If you like this, stick around for a day or so. I've had just about enough."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh? Enough of what?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"This fight. These orders. This planet. The whole damn war."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I've never much been one for orders, or for wars I didn't start. Why do what others tell you?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Because there's too many of them."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Declaring your own war on the universe can be a bit tricky... But there are other ways to fight, you know."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Avenues I'm sure I'll explore after I've made my statement here."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I wasn't planning on witnesses. But you might do."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I promise to provide only dramatically appropriate running commentary, then, whatever it is I am to be witness to."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We'll see. Would you like to come down? You're making my targeting officers nervous."

Permalink Mark Unread

"And we can't have that."

"I'd rather not land in mud, but lead on."

Permalink Mark Unread

She descends towards the tents. The paths between have plastic planks laid out, so there's really not much mud at all.

Permalink Mark Unread

Good.

She follows, looking around, mentally cataloging their apparent technology level versus how much of what they're doing is magic.

Permalink Mark Unread

As far as she can tell, the only person using magic here is Eliese, and even she stops glowing when they touch down. All the soldiers who step aside and salute are completely mundane, and slightly nervous of one or both of them.

Permalink Mark Unread

So high technology... Limited magic, but what they have is used to good effect...

She grins at the soldiers, following along in Eliese's wake.

"Efficient camp you have here," she comments, lightly.

Permalink Mark Unread

"That is how I like it. They have practice."

Permalink Mark Unread

"If you must have soldiers, I suppose it is nice to have them well accustomed to you."

Permalink Mark Unread

"They learn quickly, or they die."

Permalink Mark Unread

"A good motivating force."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mm." She stops in front of a large tent. "My officers. Try to avoid killing them. Or messing with the displays."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll be cautious."

Permalink Mark Unread

She pushes inside. An aide near the entrance is about to say something, but she cuts him off by saying "Acererak. Non-hostile," and waves him away. Around the edges of the enclosure, serious people are doing serious things on consoles with brightly-lit screens. A few of the stations are unmanned, showing test images or static camera views. In the middle is a circular table with a three-dimensional image of a spherical planet projected above it. The world seems to have two equally-sized continents on the same hemisphere, the rest of the surface taken over by ocean.

Their position seems to be marked as close to the center of the northern continent. Five clusters of enemies are noted, spread across the east and the south. Eliese moves to the center table, calling for updated positions.

Permalink Mark Unread

She watches, interested, keeping her hands behind her back as she peers at the displays. She doesn't usually bother with worlds this technologically advanced - but perhaps this'll be a refreshing change of pace. She gets used to their reporting quickly, mentally dissecting the feeds of information, thinking through how she would fight this war... And how the way it is being fought reveals the extent of their military and magical prowess.

This Eliese seems to be doing quite well with what she has. A clever, vicious mind.

Acererak watches Eliese take command with an amused expression, not interfering for now (unless she sees a far too tempting place to teasingly offer advice; Acererak is immensely old, and she's fought more wars than even she can remember - including ones in universes like this).

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese is fighting more of a delaying action than a war; she seems to be trying to draw the enemy in closer, giving ground readily. Her officers don't agree with this strategy, pushing for a more offensive approach. Their casualty numbers against the Whitespawned are "unsustainable". Without her or additional reinforcement, they don't have any effective counters.

She brushes these concerns off. High Command has decided she alone is sufficient to solve this problem, and that is what she intends to do. In her own time.

Permalink Mark Unread

She can certainly think of what she'd do, with her enemy all bunched up like that, overconfident at their successes... Of course, Acererak wouldn't be using soldiers that could complain about their deaths, nor whose ingenuity could throw off her plans. Skeletons make for a much better smoke screen.

And, well, if your intent is for no one to ever put you in any command ever again... Perhaps using harder to replace soldiers isn't the worst strategy...

Still.

"If you wish for less noisy bait," her voice whispers in Eliese's ear (audible to no one else), "Perhaps I can oblige."

Permalink Mark Unread

She turns her head and pins Acererak with a glare.

Permalink Mark Unread

Innocent smile.

Permalink Mark Unread

She shakes her head and says "Smoke and Mirror Images."

She stays where she is and continues giving orders.

She also steps over to Acererak. "What are you talking about?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I can turn dead bodies into useful soldiers. Quiet, obedient, recyclable."

Permalink Mark Unread

"An interesting talent."

Permalink Mark Unread

"A fun one. And I could even put them directly under your control."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Perhaps another time. Everyone is nearly in position. The delay is more to make certain my reserves are adequate. Your appearance has pushed the timetable back by about six hours."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I apologize for the inconvenience."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, thank you for that."

Permalink Mark Unread

She smiles. "You seem interesting enough to bother with."

Permalink Mark Unread

"High praise indeed."

Permalink Mark Unread

Shrug. "I don't bother with most, not for long."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Then I will be sure to treasure our time together. Perhaps I can show you the hospitality of the camp. There are places to sleep and food to eat. And that's about it, actually."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I need neither, sadly. Though I'm sure your hospitality is grand."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It is possible you are better off for passing on the experience."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I do admit I'd be shocked if you had delicious rations."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I suppose that's traditional where you're from as well?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Unpleasant ones are."

Permalink Mark Unread

"A pity. I had hoped things might be better elsewhere."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Most places don't care much for their soldiers."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Have you traveled widely?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"More than most."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I would be interested to hear of your adventures."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'd enjoy sharing them. Do you prefer tales of far off climes, how I got here, where I'm from...?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"How you got here, to start."

Permalink Mark Unread

She hums, clearly thinking. "Well... The path that led me here started quite a while ago. In another universe, in fact, though the culmination of events all happened quite quickly."

Permalink Mark Unread

She blinks slowly.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Some centuries ago," she begins, voice low and grand, "I began a project - to build a god of my own. To feed it, I would need trillions of souls... Something rather simple, if I merely stole from the dead. I found and modified an artifact, to steal those souls and crystallize them."

"This apparently attracted quite a bit of ire, especially since it also stole the souls of the resurrected. I constructed a grand tomb complex to house my godling, to draw in powerful adventurers I could kill. And also because grand tomb complexes full of traps are funny."

"Unfortunately for me, I apparently drew the attention of a multiversal group, who allied with one of the resurrected whose soul was growing looser and closer to being stolen by the hour. They infiltrated my complex, bypassing many of the traps in a way I'll have to prevent in the future... And they actually got to my central room, challenging me. One could manipulate the blood of my little godling. One could manipulate reality to give her friends an edge. One could challenge my mastery of the undead, albeit weakly. Two had quite an entertaining array of powers - which proved my downfall. I played with them for a bit, you see, and moved early to try and rip out the heart of one of the more powerful members. She survived, but I thought I'd effectively removed her from play... Giving me time to winnow down her friends."

"She objected to me ripping out another's heart - the blood manipulator, who was being exceptionally obnoxious - and used a powerful ability to sacrifice her own life, blowing open the gates of the realms of the dead and resurrecting both her friend and every single soul I'd accumulated. I let myself be beaten back, after that, as I know when to give ground, and let them believe they'd killed me permanently."

"It seemed wise, after that, to avoid places where my face was known, so I picked a world at random - coming here."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Of all the stories I've heard, that is certainly one of them."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Do you not believe me?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"No, I think I do."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I can prove some of it, but not all, I admit."

Permalink Mark Unread

"What I've seen of you already is certainly not of this universe."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Should I be flattered?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"If you consider being the first confirmed extrauniversal traveler I've heard of to be a point of pride."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hm, perhaps. I think I'll aim a bit higher, though..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Fair."

Permalink Mark Unread

"How high are you aiming?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Ask me again tomorrow."

Permalink Mark Unread

"This teasing's getting me all excited, you know."

Permalink Mark Unread

She smirks. "What an entirely unforeseen outcome."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Surely someone must have informed you before how tempting you are..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It has come up once or twice."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh, good, I'd hate it if you were completely unaware."

Permalink Mark Unread

"On the other hand, you've missed your chance to enlighten me."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hm, true..." Light shrug. "Though innocent girls get boring after a few millennia."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I suppose they might. If you never vary your diet."

Permalink Mark Unread

She laughs. "A well rounded diet is important." Her grin has quite a few teeth. "Is that something you pay attention to?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I keep myself healthy."

Permalink Mark Unread

Her tongue darts out to wet her lips. "Very conscientious of you."

Permalink Mark Unread

She laughs.

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh, she's pretty when she laughs.

"Since I suppose I'm going to have to wait for the show... However shall I entertain myself in the meantime?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"My quarters are available."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sounds fun."

Permalink Mark Unread

"This way." She leads the way to her tent. It's decently roomy, but has few personal touches. It does have a desk, a pair of chairs, and a cozy-looking bed.

Permalink Mark Unread

She sits on the bed after a brief glance around, then grins at Eliese. "How do you plan to entertain me? Or will you be leaving me in suspense there, too?" she teases.

Permalink Mark Unread

She sits next to Acererak and presses her body up against her. "Well now, I wonder," she says, reaching out to stroke her face.

Permalink Mark Unread

She leans in, turning her cheek into Eliese's hand and kissing her palm.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese giggles. She runs her hand down to Acererak's chin, and guides her in for a kiss.

Permalink Mark Unread

She brushes her lips over Eliese's, teasing.

Permalink Mark Unread

"And you call me a tease," she whispers.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Perhaps we're two of a kind." Still, she presses her lips a bit more firmly, next kiss.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mmm." Kiss. "That's either terrible, or very good."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss! "Good for us, at least."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I suppose it is."

Permalink Mark Unread

Light kiss. "Perhaps terrible for everyone else."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Perhaps we can, heh, revisit the question tomorrow."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mmm, tomorrow. For now..." Firmer kiss.

Permalink Mark Unread

She likes the way this is going.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak gets more and more into kissing Eliesse, swinging into her lap and pushing her back into the bed.

If Eliese lets her, she'll take this in quite delightful directions.

Permalink Mark Unread

She has time to kill. This suits her just fine.

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh good.

Then Acererak will help her winnow away quite a bit of time, showing (in her own opinion) remarkable patience about whatever Eliese's grand plan is.

Permalink Mark Unread

After some time she stretches languorously. "It's about time."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm excited!" she says with a laugh, stretching as well and grinning at Eliese.

Permalink Mark Unread

She stands.

"Here is as good a place as any. Closer to me would be better, though if you have any defensive spells to cast, I would suggest you do so."

Permalink Mark Unread

She smirks and stands, stepping into Eliese's space, then gestures (causing her clothes - including her magic items - to arrange themselves upon her), and starts sing-songing a bit, hands weaving - mostly for show, she doesn't actually need to speak or gesture for her spells. Still - she becomes massively harder to kill over the next few seconds.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese gives her a moment, then begins speaking, almost chanting. "Raging Fire Heart Consuming Life's Destruction of Storm-wracked Sea Step from Sky to Star-" The same green aura she had while flying builds around her as she talks, crackling like flame and sending lashing tendrils all about.

Her incantation continues for almost a full minute, ending with "-in Seven Suns' Nova!"

And then there is light, and heat, and noise. A massive eruption of raw power, smashing everything, igniting the air, burning away the ground.

Permalink Mark Unread

She spins, awed and delighted as the destruction spreads - a flick of her wrist, and scrying sensors spring up high in the sky, zooming out to track the edges of the devastation -

Permalink Mark Unread

The extent is incredible, the firestorm spilling all the way over the horizon and beyond the next and further yet. And still it billows forth, wave after wave, an explosion unending.

Permalink Mark Unread

Wondrous.

She claps, watching with her breath caught in her throat.

Permalink Mark Unread

When finally it ends, an orange sun shines down from a sky seared clear of clouds onto a vast, perfectly level plane glinting with reflected light.

Eliese stumbles just a little bit, enough to bump into Acererak.

Permalink Mark Unread

She steadies Eliese, wrapping an arm around her and muttering a spell to pour some of Acererak's own necromantic energy into her. (Modified a bit on the fly so it should refill Eliese's wonderful, delightful magic reserves).

"Beautiful," she breathes.

Permalink Mark Unread

She gasps. "Ah. I'm glad- you think so."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle. "You are a worker of amazing things."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Worth the wait, then?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mmm, yes."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Good."

Permalink Mark Unread

Hungry kiss.

Permalink Mark Unread

Also good.

Permalink Mark Unread

Surrounded by rather gorgeous death and devastation (and a heady rush of necromantic energy) is clearly the perfect time to make out.

(And Acererak is fully capable of kissing and casting. She gluts herself on the rush of dying souls, feeding some of the excess energy into Eliese.)

Permalink Mark Unread

"This," she says, "is an," kiss, "incredible," kiss, "rush."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss! "Good," kiss, "You," kiss, "deserve all," kiss, "the rushes."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll have to keep you around."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Funny, I was just thinking the same..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We're a pair after all."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mmmm." Kiss. "We rather are."

"What's your next step?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Wellllll... I was loosely planning on waiting to see who showed up first to see what happened."

Permalink Mark Unread

"So you're sticking around?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I also left a shuttle in orbit, if that doesn't appeal."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, depends on what you plan to do when found, really. And I'd like to stick by you for now."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That depends on who shows up. I thought I'd tender my resignation."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, I can help make sure that resignation sticks, then."

Permalink Mark Unread

Smile.

"I'd appreciate that."

Permalink Mark Unread

Grin. "In the mean time... I suspect we can entertain ourselves quite well."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh, doubtless."

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmmm kiss!!!

(She'll notice, of course, if anyone comes to investigate... It's a tossup whether she'll care.)

Permalink Mark Unread

Investigation, when it comes, is extremely unsubtle.

A woman in a black dress appears nearby in a flash of dazzling darkness. She flicks a hand and Eliese and Acererak are pushed apart by eight feet.

Permalink Mark Unread

She pouts, of course, but lets herself be pushed for now.

"And who might you be?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Imperatrix."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Eliese." She slightly inclines her head in acknowledgement. "And... visitor."

Permalink Mark Unread

"My usual name is Acererak."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Acererak, then. Which of you accomplished this?" She gestures at the featureless glass plain.

Permalink Mark Unread

"You don't want to guess?"

Permalink Mark Unread

A slow blink on a smooth face. "Rather, I wish to see if you will be truthful with me."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't kill and tell."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hmm." Her gaze swings to Eliese.

Permalink Mark Unread

"It was me."

Permalink Mark Unread

She frowns, glancing at Eliese out of the side of her eyes then back to the Imperatrix. "You're not trying to intimidate my friend, are you?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"She doesn't have to try..." Eliese mutters.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak's stance is of someone who is thoroughly confident she's the most terrifying in the room.

"What do you want."

Permalink Mark Unread

The Imperatrix is entirely unconcerned by whatever Acererak is implicitly conveying. She focuses on Eliese.

"Your instructions were to neutralize the Whitespawned on this planet so its people and position might be fully exploited. Instead, you have eliminated terrestrial life and existing economic investment. Why?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Because I'm done. Consider this my resignation from your army."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You have heretofore been an effective agent. Is there no compromise you are willing to accept?"

Permalink Mark Unread

A whisper, in Eliese's ear: "You do not have to compromise. We can leave this world fairly trivially. If she escalates and turns out significantly more powerful than me..." A pause, then another whisper: "I'm impossible to permanently kill and can resurrect arbitrary people. And I can make even the powerful regret annoying me."

A pause, and - "You have choices here. I will hear your return messages; focus on the intent to send it to me."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think you're underestimating her power level," Eliese replies.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I won't cause trouble for you that you'd rather not court," she says after a small pause.

Permalink Mark Unread

"...What kind of compromise?" she asks the Imperatrix.

Permalink Mark Unread

"If the army is no longer to your liking, our academy is always in need of teachers. Your experience would be invaluable for the younger generations." She pauses. "Perhaps after a leave of absence. I can spare you a decade or two, if you agree to return at the end."

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak stays silent. (A lot can change, in a decade or two...)

Permalink Mark Unread

"That seems too easy."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You are worth it. As this demonstrates."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Fine. Accepted."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Very well." She nods. "You know where to find me." And in another flash of darkness, she vanishes.

Permalink Mark Unread

"My earlier offer will likely remain open," she says, "If you end up deciding you don't want to return."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Maybe. We'll see."

Permalink Mark Unread

Small smile. "You shouldn't be bound."

Permalink Mark Unread

Smile.

"Thank you."

Permalink Mark Unread

Broader smile. "You're welcome, lovely."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll call the shuttle, then."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Alright."

Permalink Mark Unread

She uses her wrist comm to do so.

"Shouldn't take long. Not like there are many obstacles for the autopilot to handle."

Permalink Mark Unread

Snicker. "I'd be disappointed if there were. It'd ruin the view."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It is very... enticing."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Almost as lovely as you."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You say the sweetest things."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Would you prefer sweeter?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm not sure my heart could handle it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Perhaps I'll have to work you up to it, then."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That sounds enjoyable."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Good." Kiss.

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!

The shuttle arrives. It's shaped basically like a flying brick, tapered at both ends. A door opens on the long side as it hovers just above the ground. Eliese offers her hand to help Acererak in.

Permalink Mark Unread

Not the prettiest thing, but she accepts the hand graciously.

Permalink Mark Unread

It's slightly roomier than Eliese's tent was, and about as spartan.

"Not the best ship I've ever had, but no one was going to be missing this one."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Perhaps we can find you a better one."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Do you want to make that our first destination?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I do enjoy traveling in style..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Destin Shipyards it is."

Permalink Mark Unread

"To steal a ship? Or do you have enough authority to requisition one?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I could certainly purchase one. But if you really want..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I dunno. Theft sounds like it could be some kind of fun."

Permalink Mark Unread

"All right. We'll be spoiled for choice. What do you like in a ship?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hm... Fast, reliable, pretty, cozy and well appointed inside... Room for me to collect stuff like the gremlin I am..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We may have to trade off between 'cozy' and 'room to collect stuff'."

Permalink Mark Unread

She laughs. "If it comes down to a choice, I do have my own demiplanes to store things in."

Permalink Mark Unread

"All right." She gets the heading programmed in, then pulls up some common ship designs on the main cabin screen to scroll through. Silhouettes range from bricks stapled together to ethereal designs whose curves flow like water.

Permalink Mark Unread

She likes the more ethereal (and more menacing, but also ethereal) designs best. She actually has some feedback on materials - she can interact with certain ones better magically... Probably could actually make some prettier...

Permalink Mark Unread

What materials are good?

Permalink Mark Unread

Plastics are a pain. Metals and natural materials are easiest. There's assorted materials in between those... She could probably also transmute some material, though "plastic is obnoxious" remains a consideration. Some of the best materials are ones she suspects aren't native to this universe.

Permalink Mark Unread

Plastics usually feature in the interior, though hulls are typically a metal or metal alloy.

Permalink Mark Unread

Should be workable, then.

Permalink Mark Unread

With that, she's able to narrow down their choices to a couple models. They'll see what's available when they arrive.

Permalink Mark Unread

Alright. How long will it be?

Permalink Mark Unread

Probably another hour or two.

Permalink Mark Unread

Not too long, then.

Permalink Mark Unread

As these trips go. Eliese remembers a bit about the shipyard's layout. Does Acererak want to make some preparations?

Permalink Mark Unread

Perhaps one or two.

Permalink Mark Unread

It's a vertical design, consisting of a stacked series of 'Y' shapes rotating around a central column. Each branch hosts a drydock for repair or construction, with logistics, administration, and crew quarters making up the middle.

Permalink Mark Unread

Hmmm... She can make the two of them invisible for a time, with varying strength and length, which should help... Making the entire ship invisible would be hard...

She frowns up into the air, thinking through her spells.

Permalink Mark Unread

They'll have to physically disable or otherwise convince someone to release the anchor locks, and evade the perimeter patrol if cloaking isn't an option.

Permalink Mark Unread

Might depend on how much ships weigh... She can make up to three thousand pounds invisible or teleport up to fifteen hundred pounds fairly trivially, would have to poke metamagic for more than that...

Permalink Mark Unread

It's going to be... a bit more than that for anything worth stealing.

Permalink Mark Unread

She laughs - she's not very surprised they don't have ultra lightweight materials.

Her metamagic isn't useful for increasing that, not significantly - and the widest portals she can open are only twenty feet in diameter... She can make illusions, probably can randomly displace the ship's image, not as effective as going invisible but will make them harder to hit... She can teleport onto enemy ships and kill anyone inside... She can summon monsters into enemy ships, also killing anyone inside... She can mind control people at a distance...

Permalink Mark Unread

Mind control would probably be the most useful for a stealthy getaway.

Permalink Mark Unread

Teasingly: "Spoilsport. But I can do stealth."

Permalink Mark Unread

"If you'd rather blow up half the shipyards, we could do that too.

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "Not if it'd cause trouble for you... But it's been a bit since I've gotten to blow anything up."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I did just resign and get away with it. So I'd say I have some leeway."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh, goodie."

Permalink Mark Unread

Hee. Kiss!

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmmm good kisses.

Permalink Mark Unread

Quite.

Eventually, they arrive at the shipyards. It is, as described, a rod-like space station around three miles long, with three docks per level sticking out like spokes. From a visual inspection, it seems like it's about three-quarters occupied at the moment. A few of the models they were looking at are toward the distal end.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Where should the fun start?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, we don't want to scratch our new ride before we even get it out of the docking cradle..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Stealth, then a trail of explosions in our wake?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"That would be efficient."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sounds fun to me."

Permalink Mark Unread

"All right. I'll get us somewhere to dock."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll start on the chaos, death, and destruction groundwork, then."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese smiles, and brings them in. They wind up about half a mile from their target.

Permalink Mark Unread

In very easy range for even weaker teleports! Which means Acererak can turn them both invisible then go teleporting around trying not to giggle out loud, sowing the seeds for later chaos. (She gives Eliese a way to signal her, and then returns to her side when chaos fuses are primed so they can properly steal the ship together.)

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese checks to make sure their chosen ship is in good repair, empty, and otherwise ready to sail out. Confirming that it is, she alerts Acererak.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak teleports to her side.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Ready to go?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh, absolutely."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, essentially all we have left to do is... walk on and fly off."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sounds easy enough."

Permalink Mark Unread

And it almost is, except for the pair of security personnel that show up just as they get to the docking tube.

Permalink Mark Unread

She sends them a rather powerful suggestion that nothing is wrong here, and they have more business elsewhere.

Permalink Mark Unread

And as quickly as they arrive, they turn on their heels and are gone.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Smooth."

Permalink Mark Unread

She grins. "Figured it was better for a clean getaway than just killing them."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Most likely." The airlock opens easily. "After you, my dear."

Permalink Mark Unread

She steps through, graciously, and looks around. "I can set off my preparations from a distance," she says, "But we should probably decide the best point to start blowing things up..."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese follows and heads for the controls to start the engines. "This has decent shields. We can be in visual range."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Perfect."

Permalink Mark Unread

"There should be an observation lounge on the second deck."

Permalink Mark Unread

She grins. "Will you be joining me?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Once I get the autopilot set up." Quick kiss. "Save me a seat?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss! "I promise. One with a good view."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You're the best."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We are."

Permalink Mark Unread

Heh. "I won't argue that."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss.

"I'll go head to the observation lounge."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll be there shortly."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll be waiting." And off.

Permalink Mark Unread

The lounge has a large window on the port side, offering an excellent view out. There are a few reclining chairs and a small couch with some throw pillows arranged to face it, and in the back, what seems to be a small bar.

Permalink Mark Unread

She gets an appropriately exotic and fancy drink and drapes herself on the couch, waiting for the ship to get some distance before starting her party.

Permalink Mark Unread

The station starts falling away in the window. Before it gets too far, Eliese enters, leaning over the couch to rest her chin on Acererak's head.

Permalink Mark Unread

She snuggles, and, with a twist of her fingers...

The first explosions start.

Small ones.

Of course, whoever goes to investigate them is going to trigger runes that cause blinding rage in the weak willed...

Permalink Mark Unread

This is not immediately obvious from outside.

"I was expecting a little more..."

Permalink Mark Unread

She laughs, says, "Faster, then," and triggers an explosive cascade at the shipyard's center.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese coos appreciatively.

Permalink Mark Unread

She smiles, coordinating the follow up explosions mostly for aesthetic - and destructive - effect.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Should have set it to music," she muses.

Permalink Mark Unread

"We can do that next time, darling."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We're always improving."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Practice is quite important."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mhm." She pets Acererak's hair. Twin jets of air puff out of either end of the station.

"Looks like the central shaft was ruptured."

Permalink Mark Unread

Snuggle. "It seems likely they'll all be dead rather soon, then..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Those that don't flee to the ships."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We'll see," she says with a laugh and another twist of her fingers. Strategically placed points along the docks explode, cutting off most escape routes, and several people whose job it is to coordinate and help with evacuations go insane.

Permalink Mark Unread

This causes several follow-on explosions.

"You do think of everything."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I've been causing mayhem for quite a long time."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Fortunately it doesn't show on your face."

Permalink Mark Unread

Smirk. "My skin care secrets are the envy of the multiverse."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Must have been why everyone was really beating down your door."

Permalink Mark Unread

She laughs. "Sadly, I only hand it out to people I really like."

Permalink Mark Unread

"And there aren't many of those?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Only a handful. I do think you're one of them, though."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I am happy to hear that."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle. And, voice low and sultry, "How would you like to know my secret, darling?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I do like knowing secrets. Even if this one in particular is likely to be redundant for me."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh? You know how to recreate your body after death?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"...That seems a little extreme to get rid of wrinkles. But no, I meant that while I am alive, my appearance will not change."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "I can keep you alive. My anti-wrinkle method is my immortality method, after all."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That does sound interesting."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It's a rather basic idea, though one with a complex implementation - you anchor your soul externally to your body. Of course, if you're not cautious that can simply give you a different vulnerability."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Enabling people to attack your soul directly?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"No more so than when it's in your body - but some people have a harder time defending locations far away from them, and it's most effective if you hide your soul's seat."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I see."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I have mine hidden in its own little universe, more trapped than the worst hell in the multiverse, of course."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I assume it's fairly safe there."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It has been for millennia."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't think I know any places quite so secure. Somewhere anonymous in interstellar space, perhaps, though that would be obviated by objective-based teleportation."

Permalink Mark Unread

"There's more methods of interdimensional travel than just mine, and mine is teachable."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That is convenient."

Permalink Mark Unread

"And the amount of mayhem you could unleash given time seems quite worth even some inconvenience."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!!!

Permalink Mark Unread

"Where do we start?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Depends on how much control you want to give me over the process, really... If I'm assisting, the process will be a bit different than if you want to learn to do it yourself."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't feel in any imminent danger, so I'd like to learn it myself."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sensible enough. It'll be safer, that way - and if something surprising happens, I can just resurrect you."

Permalink Mark Unread

"So glad you approve."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "I like independent girls, I must admit."

Permalink Mark Unread

"And I," kiss, "like powerful ones."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh, good." Kiss. "I'm afraid I'd bore you otherwise."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Never."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle. "Good. You're interesting."

Permalink Mark Unread

Smile.

Permalink Mark Unread

She stretches on the couch some. "Do you want to do lessons next then, darling?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes. The autopilot can handle things for a while."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Most of the early arcana stuff's boring, and not even a good foundation for the later nonsense - I'll start you on the accelerated course of study, how about?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sounds appropriate."

Permalink Mark Unread

"And if you want to expand once you have your phylactery - the place where you keep your soul - well... There's quite a lot of fun nonsense out there."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That depends how it compares to the power I already have access to."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I suspect anything you'll hit in the next few centuries will have far less raw oomph, but there'll be some interesting synergies and utility spells arcana covers better - the spell I used to funnel necromantic energy into you was modified off of an extremely basic spell. At the highest standard levels - quite frankly, teleporting between planets is significantly more worthy of pursuit than causing earthquakes and tsunamis, even if it's less focused on."

Permalink Mark Unread

"More versatile."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That. And if you're smart you know where to find nice big bombs to teleport around, or how to conjure a bit of the inside of a sun - but the hilariously destructive spells require you to stick around being a target."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Seems awkwardly designed, especially if most people are not as durable as you."

Permalink Mark Unread

"A bit! Most people throwing around tsunamis are more durable than average, but arcana users are typically on the low end of 'stupidly durable powerful people.'"

Permalink Mark Unread

"That won't be a problem for me, but I also have other tools to achieve those results."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Having multiple specializations is good like that."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Quite."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It does make me curious if your system is learnable..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't think it is. You have to be- gifted it, by either the Imperatrix or her counterpart."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yuck."

Permalink Mark Unread

"The bright side is that they do not appear capable of revoking it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"An advantage, at least, and better than some kinds of granted magic I've seen."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll take what I can get."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "Fair. And you should get everything you can reach."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Of course."

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmmmmm that is a very good look on Eliese. Clearly the proper response is for Acererak to tug her down to join her on the couch.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese is completely on board with this plan of action.

Permalink Mark Unread

Kisses!

And, a bit later, explaining the actual important basics of arcana as relevant to aspiring liches while cuddling. There's quite a few steps involving massive blood sacrifices of course, and the creation of the phylactery itself... Acererak's animated as she explains it, eagerly delving into the most obscure minutiae at the slightest provocation.

Permalink Mark Unread

The best way to learn is from someone who has a passion for the subject. Which Acererak clearly does.

Permalink Mark Unread

Cuddles (and floating illusions) are clearly essential to the explanation process, too.

Permalink Mark Unread

Obviously.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Where to next?" Acererak asks, after a lull in the conversation.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hmm." Eliese taps her lips. "I'm not sure. What sort of place do you want to see?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Shrug. "Somewhere exciting? Exotic? Pretty?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"How do you feel about tropical beaches?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Would you wear a bikini?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She runs a hand delicately down her side. "I think I have the figure for it. Would you?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Of course. It's important to be appropriately attired."

Permalink Mark Unread

"A beach it is."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sounds lovely."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm sure you will be."

Permalink Mark Unread

Heeeeeeee.

Clearly time for kisses.

Permalink Mark Unread

Kisses!

And then she has to go set a course for a tropical vacation world.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak hangs around, but does spend some time working on her own things. (She should probably bug Eliese for book recommendations.)

Permalink Mark Unread

The ship's mainframe should have a literature dump.

Permalink Mark Unread

Delightful. Acererak will see if any of it's worth reading, then.

Permalink Mark Unread

From hundreds of years of galactic history, there's bound to be at least one or two volumes that pique her interest.

Permalink Mark Unread

She picks the trashiest possible romance novel.

Permalink Mark Unread

Two teenagers are trying to run a student government and also get the other one to admit they're in love with them! Also one is a demon and the other is a werewolf! And then a vampire shows up and tries to get them both to fall in love with him!

Permalink Mark Unread

She giggles at - basically everything, the prose is atrocious, the characters are basically self parodying...

Permalink Mark Unread

Fortunately for her, there are three more books in the series.

Permalink Mark Unread

She also reads quickly, especially for pleasure. (Worlds with widespread literacy are the best.)

She finds Eliese to drape herself over for snuggles midway through.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese is amenable.

"Is that your taste?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"It's entertaining, at least. Most of the output of my home civilization is..." She waves a hand, "Dry, and disproportionately academic."

Permalink Mark Unread

"How unfortunate. Well, I'm glad to be able to provide you with something... juicier."

Permalink Mark Unread

She laughs. "I'd have to think far more seriously about destroying your entire universe," she says, voice teasing.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm sure there are authors elsewhere."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Places without much literacy are..." Shrug. "More boring."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Perhaps you should destroy those universes instead."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Perhaps. Not right now, though; I'm on vacation."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Have you decided how many frills you want on my bikini?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "Hmmm... You'd look better in something sleeker, I think..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Ah, excellent thinking."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Do you think I'd look good in frills?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Just on the outlines..." She traces over Acererak's body demonstratively.

Permalink Mark Unread

She hums, lowly. "Draw the eye to my best features?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Just a bit of decoration to make them really stand out."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "Mmmm... I think I'd like that..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Good."

Permalink Mark Unread

Happy nuzzle. "A bloody red I think, for me..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Suits you."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "And it won't clash if I get up to chaos."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!

"An important consideration, to be sure."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It's essential to be ever the pinnacle of style and beauty."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think your natural state is at least halfway there," she says, playing with a lock of Acererak's hair.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Leaves me room for improvement, then."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Just a bit."

Permalink Mark Unread

"In the margins."

Permalink Mark Unread

She laughs.

"I think black for me. Or green, perhaps. I do have a theme already."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Maybe black with some green highlights. Draw the eye a bit."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You'll have to help me decide on a pattern."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "Of course, darling."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You're the best."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!!! "I am."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!

"Mmm. Shouldn't be too much longer."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Alright. We just need the bikinis, then..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We can go shopping when we land."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sounds good."

Permalink Mark Unread

Which soon enough, they do. The planet is mostly blue, with white swirls of clouds and long chains of archipelagos trailing across the middle band. The spaceport floats on pontoons off the coast of one of the larger islands, with a building complex on shore catering to new arrivals, selling everything from yachts to beach towels.

"We can get supplies, then find an island all for ourselves."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That'll be quite lovely."

Permalink Mark Unread

On to shopping! Food, sundries... and new clothing.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak has quite particular opinions, of course.

Permalink Mark Unread

Of course she does. Fortunately, there are boutiques that will cater exquisitely to their exacting tastes. And with the wonders of modern technology, they can have an entire wardrobe tailored in under an hour.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak splurges - mostly on silly, frilly things, but also some sleeker outfits. She seems entertained by beach towels.

Her suggestions for Eliese - and her own purchases - do show a keen eye for color and fashion.

"To the beach next, darling?" she asks after changing into something more local than her usual somewhat ridiculous and archaic garb (she still has most of her magic items on - just disguised to fit in with her new style).

Permalink Mark Unread

"There is only one question remaining. Do you prefer a traditional hull, or a hovercraft?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hm... A hovercraft would be something out of the ordinary for me."

Permalink Mark Unread

She smiles. "One of those, then."

Eliese negotiates a lease for an arrow-shaped hovercraft, around forty feet in length and striped in blue and white. Once their supplies are loaded, she pilots it out of the harbor with a deft hand. Once they've got a clear ocean, she shows off the speed of the vessel, slaloming across the wavetops.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak cackles in delight, standing at the arrow's point and looking out over the waves. (She keeps her balance perfectly, of course).

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese is maybe making a little game of trying to upset Acererak's balance.

Permalink Mark Unread

She climbs up on the railing bracing herself to lean forward - and keeps her balance. By her laughter, she's definitely enjoying Eliese's attempts.

Permalink Mark Unread

Hee.

"So did you want a completely deserted island," she calls up, "or just mostly deserted?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Depends on if you feel like clearing it out!" she calls back. "Though an island of pretty girls would have its own fun..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well..." She takes a look at the holomap next to the helm. "Looks like there's a... university group that's rented out one of the islands. Can't say they'll all be girls, though."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Up to you what we do with the others, then. I'm flexible, myself... Though real fun risks getting noticed... Would rather not cut the vacation short, and I'd like to have time with just you..." She hums and shrugs. "Of course, there's not much stopping us from island jumping if we get bored of deserted or inhabited."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Do you want to start with just us, or finish like that?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She hums. "Perhaps... More or less begin that way, but bring a toy or two - just us and some playthings. For as long as they last, at least."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We've got enough speed to pull off a raid," she agrees.

Permalink Mark Unread

"And I can teleport, especially given images of my destination."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Then this will be easy. If you wish to select the toys that most strike your fancy, I will disable their transportation."

Permalink Mark Unread

Grin. "How about we find our own island first, so I have somewhere proper to steal toys away to - and a solid base to set up scries from."

Permalink Mark Unread

"All right." She banks into a turn. "Do you want to come look at the map?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure."

She heads over, draping herself over Eliese's shoulders and peering at the map. She likes islands with plant and bird life, and ones with good views of sunsets and sunrises, ideally with some shallows around them for light swimming... And nearness to other features isn't essential given teleportation (not trivial, but still easy) - isolated is more important...

Permalink Mark Unread

A place satisfying these desiderata can be found easily enough. It's about an hour away; Eliese opens up the throttle, the wind whipping past.

The island is crescent-shaped, limned with white sandy beaches and only deep enough to dock the yacht in the middle of the bend. There's a strip of jungle in the middle, with birdsong audible from the shore.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Beautiful," she says, giving Eliese a kiss on the cheek.

Permalink Mark Unread

"It meets with your approval, then?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Squeeze. "Indeed."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Let's make ourselves at home."

Permalink Mark Unread

She laughs and sets out to explore the island a little, picking the best places to settle in for now. This involves a lot of flopping on the beach to test different sunning spots.

Permalink Mark Unread

There are many superlative choices available.

Eliese takes care of moving things from the boat to the shore while awaiting Acererak's verdict, bundling them up in a glowing net and flying them over.

Permalink Mark Unread

She settles on a spot eventually.

Permalink Mark Unread

Then they can set up their shelter. It's all memplas, and springs into shape from its box travel form at the touch of a button.

Permalink Mark Unread

She weaves a few alarms around the shelter, then stretches. "I'm going to start scrying for toys. Any preferences?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mm... Perhaps a blonde?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"A nice contrast to the two of us," she teases, before sitting down and weaving her hands in front of her, forming a shimmering image. She pages through several views, spying on girls on different islands, before narrowing in on a very pretty blonde girl who seems to be on her own - reading on an isolated beach. "How about her?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"She does fit the criteria."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "I'll be back soon, then, darling."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "Any special arrangements you need on this end?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I can manage bindings or conjuring small items fairly easily with magic... Think about what sort of situation you'd like her to wake up to? I'll probably knock her unconscious for the journey back, after all."

Permalink Mark Unread

"All right. Have fun."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh, I will." A kiss - and she teleports off.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese- sets about constructing a flimsy wooden cage.

Permalink Mark Unread

And Acererak returns soon enough, the girl in her arms - asleep, apparently uninjured, but also appearing to be having nightmares, her expression twisted in fear.

Permalink Mark Unread

"She looks like she's having a good time already."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Perhaps she'll even be glad to see us."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Anything's possible. I was thinking we could leave her in the cage to wake up-" she prods at her creation. It creaks and shudders like it could fall apart at any moment. "-And see how long it takes her to get out. And what her face looks like when she realizes she's still magically tethered."

Permalink Mark Unread

She giggles. "And with us hidden... Give her a bit of hope."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Just so."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "I like it."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese smirks smugly.

"Lightning Collar Hidden in Cloud Leashed to Earth," she commands, tapping the unconscious girl's forehead then pointing at the ground in the middle of the cage. A bright spark traces around her neck then leaps to the spot indicated before fading away.

Permalink Mark Unread

"A pretty technique," she says, laying the girl inside the cage.

Permalink Mark Unread

"It'll activate when she gets about ten feet away. Shock her right down to her knees."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That'll be quite fun to watch."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It always is."

Permalink Mark Unread

She kisses Eliese - and turns them both invisible to outside eyes. "We're hidden, now," she murmurs. "I can wake her up whenever."

Permalink Mark Unread

She kisses back. "Let her dream a bit longer..."

Permalink Mark Unread

A deeper kiss, then.

Permalink Mark Unread

Mm, that's good.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak is perfectly content to make out until the girl stirs on her own (quite a little bit; the nightmare spell was strong).

Permalink Mark Unread

This suits Eliese fine.

She pulls back a bit when she notices the girl waking up.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak keeps an arm around Eliese, but also turns her attention to their new toy - who stirs and freezes, eyes snapping open, chest heaving, breath shaking. Her skin's slick with a cold sweat, pale and likely clammy. Her gaze darts around, taking in the cage - and the clearly deserted beach. The girl whines, then scrambles to her feet, immediately going to work on trying to break out of the cage - by undoing the corner joins when brute force doesn't work.

Permalink Mark Unread

It takes a little bit of work to get of from the inside, but not very much really. Though the panic probably muddles the perspective.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak giggles silently as the girl breaks through, looks around - and then runs toward the trees.

Permalink Mark Unread

And Eliese laughs aloud as the lightning collar flares back into existence.

Permalink Mark Unread

The girl shrieks, collapsing to the sand - the sound barely covering Eliese's (and Acererak's) laughter.

Permalink Mark Unread

She lets her squeal for a bit longer before going over to drag her back by the hair.

Permalink Mark Unread

The girl flails at the apparently invisible hand pulling her back. Acererak paces around her, footsteps intentionally audible. The girl's chest heaves as she cries, struggling, gaze rolling around in terror.

Permalink Mark Unread

She drops her to the ground, then kneels to pin the girl's arms beneath her knees. She brushes her hand gently across her face.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak watches, not touching the girl yet.

The girl flinches and tries to jerk her arms in, eyes wide, cheeks wet with tears. "Who - who's th-there?" she whimpers.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese bends down to whisper in the girl's ear. "Your new favorite people, of course. You want us to like you, don't you?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak hums, tone low and hungry. The girl whines, gaze darting around, then says, "I - yes - just let me go, please, my family can - pay whatever - "

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh, but we've only just met," she purrs. "We want to get to know you."

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak makes a small, pleased noise. The girl winces, trying and failing to curl in on herself, make herself smaller. "Just - please don't hurt me - "

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh, I can't promise that. I don't want to lie to you, after all." She kisses along to the girl's mouth, bites her lip.

Permalink Mark Unread

The girl sobs a bit. Doesn't kiss back, of course.

Permalink Mark Unread

They'll work her up to it.

"What's your name, sweet thing?" she asks.

Permalink Mark Unread

"A - Ahmi," she says, biting her lip.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Ahmi," she says the name with no small amount of delight. "I am sincerely looking forward to our time together."

Permalink Mark Unread

Whimper!

Permalink Mark Unread

(And, a whisper from Acererak - "The invisibility will wear off soon, darling. I can renew it if you want.")

Permalink Mark Unread

"No need," she says back to Acererak, "She ought to get one good look at us."

She switches to playing with Ahmi's hair, coincidentally pointing her head in Acererak's direction.

Permalink Mark Unread

And Acererak crouches by her as the invisibility wears off, grinning and saying, "Hello, Ahmi."

The girl whines a bit.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hello, Ahmi." Eliese says, grinning and bending her head back for another kiss.

Permalink Mark Unread

Ahmi trembles.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Interstellar Ebon Blindness." A band of pure black drapes over Ahmi's eyes, utterly blinding her. "We are going to be very good friends," she says, standing up.

Permalink Mark Unread

Ahmi cries out when her vision darkens - and, when Eliese stands, she tries to get her legs under her. She's shaking badly enough it's hard to tell where she's planning on going, though.

Permalink Mark Unread

She hasn't cancelled the leash yet, so she won't be getting very far in whatever direction.

Permalink Mark Unread

She crawls back a bit - then seems to remember that, because she freezes just before the leash would have activated.

Permalink Mark Unread

"What a lovely quick learner you are!" she coos. "Isn't she impressive, sweetheart?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Quite. Trainable pets are the best."

Permalink Mark Unread

"What should we make the first lesson, I wonder?"

Permalink Mark Unread

(Ahmi pulls her knees to her chest, crying.)

Acererak hums, tapping her chin. "Good pets should do what their masters say," she says. "Even just simple commands. Like 'sit'!"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Flame Lash," Eliese says, grabbing a whip of fire out of the air. She cracks it to just kiss Ahmi's back.

Permalink Mark Unread

Ahmi jerks forward - then freezes, squeezes her eyes shut, and eases into a more proper sitting position even as she shakes.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Good girl."

Permalink Mark Unread

She whimpers.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Now, come back to me." She snaps her fingers several times.

Permalink Mark Unread

Ahmi hesitates for a few moments, then starts getting her feet under her. She's moving pretty slowly, though.

Permalink Mark Unread

Another whip-crack. "A good pet should respond promptly to her master's orders."

Permalink Mark Unread

She cries out and stumbles - then gets her feet back under her, moving more quickly toward Eliese. Still, she stops a few steps away.

Permalink Mark Unread

She sighs. "Well, we'll work on it."

Ahmi sniffles.

Acererak comes up behind her, putting her hands on Ahmi's shoulders, making the girl jump and squeak. Acererak leans forward, murmuring, "You should thank my darling for teaching you, pet."

Ahmi freezes.

Permalink Mark Unread

She cracks the whip threateningly.

Permalink Mark Unread

A few more tears slip from Ahmi's eyes.

"Th- thank y-you. Ma'am," she says, voice quavering.

Permalink Mark Unread

"You're quite welcome, pet. But there are two of us engaged in your education, you know. Turn around and show your appreciation properly."

Permalink Mark Unread

Ahmi sniffles and turns, trembling, and says, only slightly less hesitantly, "Thank you ma'am."

Acererak leans forward, grabbing her chin and tilting it up. "You're being a good girl," she purrs, before leaning forward to brush her lips over Ahmi's. "One who knows her place."

Ahmi whimpers.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese steps up right behind Ahmi and gets both her and Acererak in a hug.

"Which is right between us."

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak rests her arm on the small of Eliese's back. "I think I'd like to hear her scream a bit, darling," she says with a grin. "Feel her writhing..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That does sound lovely. Crackling Tiger Body." Her torso lights up with static electricity where it's pressed into Ahmi's back.

Permalink Mark Unread

Ahmi shrieks, jerking into Acererak - who pushes her more firmly into Eliese, laughing as Ahmi struggles against them both.

Permalink Mark Unread

She nuzzles the back of her neck, giggling.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak kisses Eliese's cheek - then turns her head and bites Ahmi's neck, making her screams stutter a bit.

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh, this is delightful.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak bites hard enough that blood wells up in the corner of her mouth.

She lets go after a few moments - leaving a few bleeding tooth marks - and licks her lips. "I do think our pet's had enough for now," she purrs.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'd say we should put her back in her cage, but she's made rather a mess of it."

Permalink Mark Unread

She hums. "Perhaps we can test her on just a leash."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Very well." She steps back. "You hear that, pet? She believes in you. Don't disappoint her."

Permalink Mark Unread

Ahmi collapses against Acererak, sobbing.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Aw, she likes you."

Permalink Mark Unread

She strokes Ahmi's hair. "I am exceptionally delightful."

Permalink Mark Unread

"And very charming."

Permalink Mark Unread

She winks. And then, to their pet: "Do you promise you'll be good? I'll let you rest if you do."

Ahmi shakes a bit, then stutters out: "Yes ma'am..."

Acererak laughs, strokes Ahmi's hair some more, and then drags her to the center of her magical leash, conjuring a stake to drive into the ground before hardening the sand around it, and then a leash and collar for the pet's neck. Ahmi doesn't resist being manhandled, just curling up to cry when Acererak releases her.

Permalink Mark Unread

That is very cute.

Permalink Mark Unread

And Acererak leaves her lying on the sand, stepping up to kiss her Eliese long and deep.

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmm.

"That," kiss, "was," kiss, "a good idea."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!!! "A good," kiss, "Highlight." She kisses Eliese again, moaning a bit. "I love pretty girls," kiss, "when they're in pain..." Kiss. "And scared."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It adds a delightful spice."

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmmmm. "Yes. I've never met a girl," kiss, "Too pretty for fear."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kisses!

"Certainly not. But there are some other looks I think I'd enjoy seeing on you in particular..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh, it doesn't have to be exclusive, darling..." she murmurs, a mischievous look in her eye.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Are you capable of feeling fear?" she teases.

Permalink Mark Unread

Giggle. "It'd be tough." Kiss. "But with all the myriad worlds out there... People repeat, sometimes. Different circumstances, same sort of soul... Often the same faces..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hmm..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I met another me, recently," she teases, grinning, then: "And another you."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Did they... have anything to do with your discorporation?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She laughs. "Very much, though someone else struck the final blow."

Permalink Mark Unread

She hums thoughtfully.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Do you want to watch an illusion of our encounter?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Let's get a little more comfortable first. Spread out a beach towel. Open some snacks."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "Have a proper watch party."

Sadly that means untangling a little...

Permalink Mark Unread

Only temporarily. And they can try on those bikinis for real.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak gets a bit distracted from what she's supposed to be doing, when she sees Eliese in her bikini.

Permalink Mark Unread

She chuckles and poses, sticking out her tongue. "Come on, I wanted to see yours too."

Permalink Mark Unread

"How could I ever deny you, darling," she teases - and then obligingly changes into her own bikini.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese fairly pounces, dragging her down to the sand.

Permalink Mark Unread

She laughs, letting herself be dragged, and wraps herself around Eliese, pressing hungry kisses to her exposed skin.

Permalink Mark Unread

There's quite a lot of it. They're going to be at this a while.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak has rather legendary stamina, fortunately - enough to still have energy to drag out beach towels and snacks for their watch party afterwards. And then snuggle Eliese very thoroughly, of course.

Permalink Mark Unread

She sighs contentedly.

"You're the best."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle. "For you, I am."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I am the most important, so this is only natural."

Permalink Mark Unread

She laughs. "The most delightful, the most beautiful, the cleverest, the deadliest..."

Permalink Mark Unread

Smug smug.

"All of these, yes."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!!! "Mmmm, we should watch my little show, before we get more distracted..." she mutters.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Probably." One last neck kiss, though.

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmmm nuzzle.

Still, she powers through temptation, spinning up a beautifully in-depth illusion of the party of their alts - starting from the group's arrival in the world Acererak had been terrorizing at the time, progressing through their dungeon bypass, then confronting Acererak - Acererak disrupting her look-alike's heart, playing with the group at her leisure, ripping out Eliese's non-look-alike's heart... A focus on the face of Acererak's look-alike as she sacrificed herself, on Eliese's look-alike as she grieved and broke down...

"A pity I didn't have time to play more..." Acererak murmurs, squirming a bit.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese presses a kiss to her temple.

"You did give them a workout."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mmm, yes - though given that world's abilities, I bet they put my look alike back to life..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Would that be so bad?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, it means I'd need to track her down before having a second round," she teases.

Permalink Mark Unread

"But she's free to improve on her own."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Might make things exciting... Though I can create dead magic zones..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Always keep a card up your sleeve."

Permalink Mark Unread

"To use if things get out of hand."

Permalink Mark Unread

She hums agreement.

"...If it were me... I might have tried to talk, first."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle. "You probably make fewer enemies than me," she says. "I doubt the you who got caught in my life-drain would have been very forgiving, though."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Perhaps. It just seems- a waste, that two of the same people can't cooperate. Our goals should be similar enough."

Permalink Mark Unread

She shrugs. "I'm on the - " She waves her hand vaguely, "Extremely destructive and antisocial end, for my type of person. I don't like remembering whether this particular region is protected by an alt, keeping track of who I shouldn't hurt beyond a small handful, containing myself..."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss.

"Fair enough."

Permalink Mark Unread

Snuggle and kiss. "I probably shouldn't poke that particular group though, anyways - I suspect they currently don't know I'm alive."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It would save trouble. But for the record, I would back you over them."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss! "You're very good."

Permalink Mark Unread

"So are you."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I won't immediately rush out to borrow trouble, then."

Permalink Mark Unread

"After our vacation, perhaps."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss! "And I bet there's more than a few of me or you out there who haven't run across that particular group..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You want to start your own gang?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Shrug. "We'll have to see."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Or maybe a harem."

Permalink Mark Unread

Heeeee. "It's almost like you've met me."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I should warn you that I'm a jealous lover."

Permalink Mark Unread

"So I should only take disposable lovers, then?" she teases.

Permalink Mark Unread

"That would be for the best."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss! "Mmm, I sometimes get jealous..." she murmurs, "But I'm finding the thought of wrapping an alternate me up with a pretty little bow for you quite attractive..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Ooh. That does sound... enticing."

Permalink Mark Unread

"When's your birthday?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She pauses to think.

"Four months or so, I believe."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I should be able to find someone by then."

Permalink Mark Unread

Hee.

This definitely calls for kisses.

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmm yes. Very enthusiastic ones.

Permalink Mark Unread

The sun begins to set in front of them.

"When's your birthday?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She laughs. "You know, I'm not even sure I remember anymore."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You can pick a new one, then."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss! "Not one too far away..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Give me enough warning to obtain a cake. And maybe someone to hide inside it."

Permalink Mark Unread

Giggle.

"Maybe... Two months from now? Split the difference to yours."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll mark it on my calendar."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "You're wonderful."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I know."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle - and then a little yawn.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Getting sleepy?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"A bit. - I technically can just skip it, but sometimes it's cozy..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't really need to either, but we can."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Perhaps snuggle and watch the stars some... And then go wake up our pet if we get bored."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sounds like a decent plan. Do you want the blanket?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hm, sure."

Permalink Mark Unread

She rises to fetch it.

Permalink Mark Unread

She stretches out, languid, and waits for her return.

Permalink Mark Unread

Blanket! She flutters it delicately across Acererak's face and snuggles down next to her.

Permalink Mark Unread

She giggles, pushing it down a bit, and cuddles into Eliese's side to look up at the stars with her head on Eliese's shoulder.

Permalink Mark Unread

There is a truly excellent view. The horizon is completely dark, and there are no lights in the sky other than the stars. The bright trail of the galaxy sprawls across the northwestern quadrant.

"I'd tell you stories about the constellations, but uh, I don't know any of this planet's."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "We can make some up."

Permalink Mark Unread

"All right." She points up and traces out a hexagonal pattern. "How about those ones?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She hums, thinking. "Bees were clearly involved."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Storing vast quantities of honey for... appeasing that snake over there."

Permalink Mark Unread

"While secretly plotting to create a robot bee god."

Permalink Mark Unread

She laughs. "And there's their wrench!"

Permalink Mark Unread

"They were cursed for their hubris and thrown into the sky."

Permalink Mark Unread

"But by who, though?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"The existing gods, most likely."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Did any of them make a self-portrait?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Perhaps the robot bee god took its revenge for its people, and flung the other gods into the sky too..."

Permalink Mark Unread

Gasp. "A stunning twist! What drama."

Permalink Mark Unread

Giggle. "Those two triangles there, with the arc between them - that was their chief enemy, a powerful cat god."

Permalink Mark Unread

"And there's a bat, guardian of the underworld- see the wings spread?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes! I bet the bat and cat - a defeated sun god, maybe - dislike each other."

Permalink Mark Unread

"The only thing that united them was their hatred of the bees." Sage nod.

Permalink Mark Unread

"The bees successfully ended the divine civil war! Their third greatest accomplishment."

Permalink Mark Unread

Snicker.

Permalink Mark Unread

"The second greatest was making the robot god, of course. The greatest was getting all the gods killed."

Permalink Mark Unread

"The Beepocalypse."

Permalink Mark Unread

She starts giggling uncontrollably.

Permalink Mark Unread

And this of course sets Eliese herself off.

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!!!!!

Permalink Mark Unread

Giggly kisses!

Permalink Mark Unread

Best kind!

Permalink Mark Unread

"You're a good storyteller."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Awww, thanks." Kiss. "You are too."

Permalink Mark Unread

Cuddles.

Permalink Mark Unread

She's content to cuddle for quite a bit - she doesn't get bored as quickly as she used to, and Eliese is... Nice.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese thinks Acererak is nice, too.

"Gonna take a little nap," she says softly.

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle. "Alright."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Don't go anywhere."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll be right here. I promise, darling."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese drifts off into sleep.

Permalink Mark Unread

And Acererak watches her, snuggling.

Permalink Mark Unread

It's a pleasant way to wake up, shortly before sunrise.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak hasn't moved, and gives her a soft good morning kiss.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Good morning to you too."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle. "You're cute when you're sleeping."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "And I'm beautiful while awake."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Very much so."

Permalink Mark Unread

Smug smug.

"Let's go see if our guest enjoyed her night as well."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Give her a nice little wake up call," she says with a light kiss before starting to untangle herself.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Tell her she can have breakfast if she asks nicely," Eliese says, standing and stretching.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Maybe something light on the stomach. Wouldn't want her throwing up later."

Permalink Mark Unread

She shudders. "Certainly not."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!

And then off, to teach their pet to beg.

Permalink Mark Unread

Fun for the whole family. Or the members whose opinions count, anyway.

Permalink Mark Unread

She laughs.

The next while of vacation is incredibly relaxing - Acererak focuses her attention on making Eliese smile, mostly, either directly or indirectly. She demonstrates all the ways her magic can be used to torment someone, tells stories of the adventures she's had, flirts quite a bit...

(Of course, eventually the pet stops being as entertaining, will worn down and nearly broken.)

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese very much enjoys the attention Acererak pays her and the shows she puts on. She contributes some adventures of her own. Perhaps not so many but all very large-scale, fleets and armies and battles raging across continents.

She takes to treating the pet like a lapdog or a throw pillow once she stops struggling, keeping her close by her feet when she's not focused solely on Acererak.

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh good. (Kiss.) Eliese should enjoy herself.

Permalink Mark Unread

She's been doing quite a lot of that since Acererak showed up.

Permalink Mark Unread

Then Acererak's achieving her goals beautifully.

Permalink Mark Unread

Yes, she is.

Still, this island is starting to get a little stale.

Permalink Mark Unread

Well, there're islands full of university students out there, Acererak's heard...

Permalink Mark Unread

Time to make a splash?

Permalink Mark Unread

Perhaps even a few waves.

Permalink Mark Unread

They'll need to move their things back to the boat, then.

Permalink Mark Unread

Something Acererak can manage quickly enough with magic.

Permalink Mark Unread

Then Eliese will hop over with the pet and they can set sail.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak enjoys sailing as much as she did on their trip out.

Does Eliese have opinions about which island to go terrify? (Are those university students from earlier still around?)

Permalink Mark Unread

Syncing the map reveals that they are not.

There is, however, a young women's choir recently arrived.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I do like girls who can sing."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Shall I set a course?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mmm, yes."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Then it shall be so." She locks in the heading.

"How do you want to approach them?

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hmmm... There's one argument for opening in style, perhaps with an explosion or a few corpses left out over night for everyone to find... One argument for infiltrating a bit first..."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese strokes Ahmi's hair thoughtfully.

"I'd rather start strong, I think. Get to the good part."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Fair enough. Though I'd like to open with most of them alive after our debut. So they can appreciate us properly - for a bit, at least."

Permalink Mark Unread

"So nothing too lethal... Well, I can certainly arrange a lightshow."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Scare them properly."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You can follow up with some of your mind-affecting magic."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yum."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That's a delicious look on you."

Permalink Mark Unread

That calls for a kiss!

Permalink Mark Unread

Yes, it does.

Once they get in range, Eliese ties the pet's leash to the stern railing. "Ready?" she asks Acererak.

Permalink Mark Unread

The pet cooperates, pushing herself into the railing and out of her owners' ways.

"Ready," Acererak says, smirking.

Permalink Mark Unread

"See you on the ground." And she launches herself up into the sky, green aura glowing brilliantly.

She swoops over the island, sending out precise beams of fire that explode on impact, destroying cover and sending people scattering. A chorus of screams rises.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak laughs and launches herself over the side of the boat, flying idly into the thick of the chaos. Mostly preventing people from running too far away.

Permalink Mark Unread

This is helped by the size of the island (small), and the way that Eliese crashes to the ground in an explosion of ice which races out to grab the feet of their prey.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak can be the outer fire, then, giving their new friends all sorts of exciting choices about who to run to.

Permalink Mark Unread

None of these choices are very appealing! The choir is very distressed.

Permalink Mark Unread

She laughs and pushes them farther in. The reluctant ones can be examples, maybe - only left alive to appreciate their suffering.

Permalink Mark Unread

Their screams definitely strengthen the others' resolve to get away from Acererak.

Permalink Mark Unread

Which runs them right into Eliese. She begins tossing those she catches up and into a glowing cylindrical prison.

Permalink Mark Unread

Then soon enough they'll have all their new friends nicely contained (or sobbing and screaming on the ground, which is a nice enough containment).

Permalink Mark Unread

"Fun."

Permalink Mark Unread

She kisses Eliese when the circle narrows all the way.

Permalink Mark Unread

Mwah!

Permalink Mark Unread

Giggle.

"Should I heal our examples, do you think? Or let them bleed out?"

Permalink Mark Unread

This elicits terrified moans from their captives.

"Maybe if there are any that especially strike your fancy."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll see."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll go bring our ship the rest of the way in while you do that."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "Alright."

And she goes to make the rounds of the badly injured.

Permalink Mark Unread

She mauled five of the twenty girls badly enough that they never made it to Eliese to be caged. They're of varying appearance and likeliness-to-die-within-the-next-fifteen minutes.

Permalink Mark Unread

She heals the ones who can't talk well enough they can plead their case.

Two she heals entirely - one who begs very prettily, promising to be good, to do anything Acererak wants, and one who tries to spit in Acererak's eye. The other three - just enough to prolong their suffering some. Make a nice backdrop for the next act.

She walks back toward Eliese, dragging the defiant girl by her hair (struggling and cursing) and having the better behaved girl trail behind her (sobbing and not looking at what's become of her friends).

Permalink Mark Unread

She has Ahmi sitting at her feet, leash in hand.

"Two, hm? Greedy..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I felt like splurging a bit."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You're worth it."

Permalink Mark Unread

Smug grin and a quick kiss. "I am."

Permalink Mark Unread

"So what first?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She pets the well behaved one of the girls she'd 'rescued.' "This one promised to do anything I want. I think we should make her our assistant here."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That would be helpful." She takes a closer look at the girl. "Do you think you can handle that?"

Permalink Mark Unread

The girl is so unhappy!!! But she nods (jerkily, face pale and streaked with tears, eyes wide and afraid and hurt).

Permalink Mark Unread

"Show us, then. Wind's Calling." She points at one of the imprisoned girls, and they are buffeted out and down to the ground. "Flame Lash." Drawing forth a fiery whip, she hands it to the helper. "Hurt her."

Permalink Mark Unread

The helper whimpers a bit when the imprisoned girl starts calling her a traitor, then steps forward, squeezes her eyes shut, and lashes out - burning her friend rather badly. She flinches from the screams a little.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Very good!" Eliese praises, patting her on the head.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak steps up beside the helper, nuzzling her neck. "Look at her," she murmurs, "She's so pretty, crying like this, isn't she? Hurt her more."

The girl opens her eyes, stifling a whine - and keeps hurting her friend, shivering as Acererak rewards her with kisses to her neck and soft touches.

Permalink Mark Unread

Hot.

Permalink Mark Unread

She glances at Eliese, smirking, and runs her hand down their helper's sides, caressing her, especially over the shiny new skin from where Acererak healed her injuries, telling her breathlessly how best to wring pain out of her friend.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Such a good teacher," she laughs.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I take very good care of my students," she says, squeezing their helper's hips. "Especially when they're nice and obedient."

Permalink Mark Unread

"So what do you plan to do with the other one?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hmmm... Her defiance is fun. I want to give her a chance to struggle more, I think."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese nods. "Very well."

Permalink Mark Unread

She pets the helpful girl, tells her to keep having fun, and goes to physically pin down the defiant girl, kissing her and giggling at her futile attempts to try and hit Acererak.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese pulls another girl down, and forms a whip of ice.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak shifts so she can watch both Eliese and their helper as she plays with her chosen victim.

Permalink Mark Unread

She coaxes some music out of her toy.

The ones Acererak disregarded slip into death.

Permalink Mark Unread

The deaths are a minor pity, but there's far more where those came from (for now, at least).

Permalink Mark Unread

Perhaps she can still put them to use?

Permalink Mark Unread

An excellent suggestion.

The three dead girls rise to their feet, eyes empty, and shuffle over to their friends. (Triggering many horrified screams, of course).

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese lets the barrier caging them fall.

Permalink Mark Unread

Coordinating directing their helper, torturing her toy, and directing the three zombies is a bit of work - mostly a fun stretch after all this laying around, Acererak has commanded entire armies of undead before. And, of course, any who incidentally die during the fun can join their friends as Acererak's loyal slaves.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese organizes a singing competition. The ones who please her least are fed to Acererak's power.

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh, lovely. Acererak is delighted by their voices - a rather nice backdrop to the ongoing screams. (Perhaps they can keep one or two?)

Permalink Mark Unread

"Of course, sweetheart."

Permalink Mark Unread

Heeeeee. "Of course, we haven't judged our little helper's singing ability yet..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"She can be our next contestant."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Though she's being so good, it'd be a shame to kill her..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Special rules, then. If she wins, she has permission to sing while she works. If she loses, she gets a turn taking pain instead of giving it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I like how you think. Very well."

Permalink Mark Unread

She directs the helper to step up to the stage she's set up, a plank supported on the naked backs of two contestants who were not quite bad enough to warrant summary execution.

Permalink Mark Unread

The helper does so, keeping her balance better than the (more injured) girls who've gone before, and waits obediently for a command to sing.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Begin."

Permalink Mark Unread

She sings, voice wavering briefly at first then building. She's more confident than the others - which helps - less terrified - not the best soloist in the group, but she has a lovely harmonic voice.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese applauds politely at the end.

"Acceptable." Alas.

Permalink Mark Unread

Jerky nod.

Permalink Mark Unread

"And now you thank me for the chance to participate."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Thank you ma'am," she says, voice wavering only a little.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Make way for the next, hmm?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She steps down, a bit hastily. "What now, ma'am?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She pats the ground next to her.

"Sit and help me judge. You can take care of the next failure's punishment."

Permalink Mark Unread

The girl nods and sits, a vague air of unease around her.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese puts an arm around her shoulder and plays with her hair, calling the next girl up.

Permalink Mark Unread

The girl is so uncomfortable!!!

The next girl is possibly a good singer when not terrified out of her mind; her voice keeps quivering, her gasps interrupting notes, and she hiccups in the middle of singing at one point.

Permalink Mark Unread

What a shame.

That was not a very good performance at all. Doesn't her helper agree?

Permalink Mark Unread

No. It wasn't - her usual - she's usually good -

Permalink Mark Unread

She taps her lips thoughtfully. Does her helper perhaps feel she deserves another chance?

Permalink Mark Unread

...Maybe? (The helper is very, very scared herself.)

Permalink Mark Unread

How about this, then: the helper administers the punishment for failing, and then they can try again together.

Permalink Mark Unread

Terrified jerky nod! (This was not her intention at all, she needs to not contradict the scary powerful sadists - )

Permalink Mark Unread

(Eliese is having a lot of fun watching her try to hide her fear.)

She hands her a dagger made of magical ice.

Permalink Mark Unread

She takes the dagger and stands, walking over to her friend - who freezes a bit, then flinches back, trying to run away.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Don't let her get away!" Eliese calls.

Permalink Mark Unread

The helper breaks into a run after her friend! Her friend's fast - but more scared, more injured, and after some chasing around the helper tackles her friend to the ground, stabbing her in the shoulder with the ice dagger.

Permalink Mark Unread

The dagger sends a chill shock into the wound, numbing the entire arm.

Eliese walks over to join them. "Gently now. Remember she still needs to be able to sing with you."

Permalink Mark Unread

"S-Sorry ma'am."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Start with extremities, finger, toes. Peel the skin and cut away small pieces at a time. Or if you want to be artistic, you can use the tip to sketch patterns on her back and belly."

Permalink Mark Unread

Shaky nod. She pins the girl down on her front, sitting straddling her hips with her left hand pressed firmly against the unstabbed shoulder. Deep breath - and, with her right hand clutching the dagger, she gently scratches her friend's back, drawing a terrified moan.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese stands behind her and puts her hands on her shoulders, whispering encouragements in her ear.

Permalink Mark Unread

The girl shivers - she's definitely scared, but she kinda likes the approval...

She keeps torturing her friend. Artistically, of course, sketching patterns over her skin.

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh, very good.

"Sweetheart, come see," she calls to Acererak.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak drops her mangled victim and strides over, leaning against Eliese. "Oh, she's doing very well."

Permalink Mark Unread

"She is." Kiss. "Good choice."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle. She reaches out to run her hands through their helper's hair, making the girl shiver and arch her neck a bit. "Experience helps."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Maybe we should have her decorate the others, too."

Permalink Mark Unread

"She's so very good at it..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"After her next song, then."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sounds lovely. I'll listen with you, how about?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm sure that will be highly motivating."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "They'll be falling over each other for my favor."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "As is only proper."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Clearly the main reason for any nerves."

Permalink Mark Unread

"But you have so much favor to go around."

Permalink Mark Unread

"But only so much attention."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Ah, true enough."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle. "And I save the bulk of it for only the best girls."

Permalink Mark Unread

Hee.

"Which is me, of course. These poor dears must fight for your scraps."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mmmm, yes. And it's quite entertaining."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Speaking of which..." She pats the helper on the shoulder. "I believe that will suffice for now."

Permalink Mark Unread

The girl nods, leaning back and taking a deep breath. (Her victim is sobbing nearly uncontrollably.)

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think she needs a moment to recover."

Permalink Mark Unread

Their helper nods, biting her lip. "Yeah..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"In the meantime... I think you have earned a little reward."

Permalink Mark Unread

She makes a curious noise, almost reluctantly.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese smiles, and beckons her closer.

Permalink Mark Unread

She stands, walking closer - her steps aren't hesitant, but her posture's unsure, shy.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese grabs hold of her, spins her so she's pressed between her and Acererak, and kisses her.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak pushes her into Eliese, caressing her and kissing her neck.

The girl whimpers - and kisses Eliese back, hesitantly.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese kisses more deeply, moving her hands soothingly across her body.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak's not being very soothing, at all.

The girl shivers, hands clenching at her sides, and moans.

Permalink Mark Unread

"You can use your hands too," she pauses long enough to say.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak has moved from kissing to nibbling the girl's neck, her own hands getting decidedly adventurous.

The girl almost hesitantly caresses Eliese's waist, moving to grip onto her shoulders when not met with punishment.

Permalink Mark Unread

Ah, delightful.

Permalink Mark Unread

(They've found themselves such a good little toy.)

The girl keeps kissing Eliese, more boldly, shaking more and more.

Acererak gets a wicked look in her eyes - and backs off as the girl's getting properly worked up, drawing out a whine.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese disengages as well, grinning.

Permalink Mark Unread

The girl whines even more, staying standing only unsteadily.

"You'll have to keep being good if you want more," Acererak teases, brushing a hand over the girl's hip.

Permalink Mark Unread

"This is called 'incentive'."

Permalink Mark Unread

The girl whimpers and nods, shaking.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Now, let's try that song again."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Ah - with her?" she asks, gesturing to the (no longer sobbing) girl she'd just been torturing.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese nods.

Permalink Mark Unread

She pulls the girl to her feet - the girl tries to fight her off - the helper whispers, harshly, "They won't hurt you if you just - play along - c'mon - "

She gets the other girl over to the stage for their duet. The other girl is now more shell shocked than terrified, and is not a very enthusiastic singer, even as the helpful girl does her best to cover for them both. Still - the harmony's off.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mmm," Eliese says thoughtfully. "Your thoughts, sweetheart?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She taps her chin. "She," gesturing at the recently tortured girl, "Is certainly not up to snuff. She," gesturing at the helper, "Is pretty good despite that, but I think benefits more from having an actually talented soloist to back. Not good enough to carry this alone."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I agree. Alas, that means she," the recently-tortured, "has run out of chances."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Quite a pity."

(The recently tortured girl starts crying.)

Permalink Mark Unread

"Should we have our helper do the honors?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think so. And reward her if she impresses us."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sounds good to me."

She beckons the helper over.

Permalink Mark Unread

The helper comes, dragging her friend after a moment's hesitation (especially when the girl looks like she's going to try to run again).

Permalink Mark Unread

"She has failed for the last time," Eliese tells the helper. "You know what this means, yes?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"You - want her dead - " the helper says, quietly.

(The girl in question lets out a terrified moan and tries in vain to pull away from her probably ex-friend's grip.)

Permalink Mark Unread

"Just so. And this is your next task: kill her."

Permalink Mark Unread

The helper bites her lip.

"...How - fast."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Slowly enough to savor."

Permalink Mark Unread

She nods and wrestles her friend to the ground, wrapping a hand around her neck - not enough to choke her to death, not yet, but enough to inconvenience her especially with her existing injuries - and begins slowly torturing the girl to death.

Their helper's breath is coming a bit faster, now - she leans forward, pressing more weight on her friend's neck - her breath hitches - her friend struggles, of course, but she can't breathe anymore - their helper drops her dagger in favor of strangling the girl with both hands -

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese watches avidly, her hand reaching out to find Acererak's.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak leans into Eliese, breathless herself, a low pleased hum in her chest.

Permalink Mark Unread

"She's doing so well," she says softly.

Permalink Mark Unread

"She is. And it's beautiful..."

(The victim's struggles are weakening noticeably.)

Permalink Mark Unread

"We shall definitely have to reward her appropriately."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mmmm, yes..."

(The victim's still alive, but barely struggling, now.)

Permalink Mark Unread

"Finish her," Eliese commands.

Permalink Mark Unread

Their helper leans in more, squeezing, her breath coming in short little gasps as her friend dies.

Permalink Mark Unread

Time to go congratulate her!

Permalink Mark Unread

The girl goes into their arms much more enthusiastically, this time, kissing whoever puts their lips on hers, grasping desperately at both women. (She's crying a little, shaking, and that makes her more desperate, more afraid.)

Permalink Mark Unread

And more attractive.

Her neediness is delicious.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak helps reward her, of course - keeping her needy and squirming for a good little bit.

Permalink Mark Unread

It is to be savored, after all.

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmmm yes.

Of course, eventually their toy collapses against them, shaking.

Permalink Mark Unread

"There, there," Eliese pets her head. "You've done very well today."

Permalink Mark Unread

The girl whines a bit and presses her face into Eliese's shoulder.

"Ah - thank you - ma'am."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese hugs her. "Good girl."

Permalink Mark Unread

That gets her another whine.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese laughs.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak nuzzles the girl, then gives Eliese a quick kiss. "Shall we move on to the others, then?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes, they must be feeling terribly neglected."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Can't have that."

Permalink Mark Unread

She pats the helper once more.

"You can take a little break."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Th- Thank you, ma'am."

Permalink Mark Unread

And off to see to the rest of their flock.

Permalink Mark Unread

It's dwindled a good bit, by now. (Acererak's earlier defiant victim is only alive on a technicality). The handful they haven't killed already are very, very miserable.

Permalink Mark Unread

Then they will simply squeeze what the can out of those that remain.

Permalink Mark Unread

Healing spells are helpful for that - the handful barely clinging on to life can be brought back for another go around, and those alive can have their misery rather nicely extended.

Still, Acererak isn't in the mood to accumulate too many pets, and working through the remaining girls is fun.

Permalink Mark Unread

Their ship is large enough to accommodate a few, but yes, they should be choosy.

Working to destruction is just as fun.

Permalink Mark Unread

Perhaps keep the best soloist and their little helper, of this group.

Permalink Mark Unread

That sounds like a good plan.

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!

Acererak shows off a few creative uses of spells on the last few - turning pieces of flesh to stone, mental manipulation, memory manipulation, trapping someone's consciousness in a dead body (temporarily, at this power level), inducing necrosis around nerves...

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese is very appreciative of these creative uses. Her own magic is generally more... direct.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Most people use my kind directly. I'm simply exceptional."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "Wonderfully so."

Permalink Mark Unread

She nuzzles Eliese, wrapping her arms around her. "This is fun. You're good."

Permalink Mark Unread

Hee. "So are you, sweetheart."

Permalink Mark Unread

"An excellent pair." She gives her girlfriend a long, slow kiss.

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmm.

"So are we just about done with this vacation?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think so. I feel very relaxed."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Let's get our new toys bundled up for transport and back to the ship, then."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Alright."

Magic is nicely efficient for that - and for healing the soloist they're keeping all the way back to full (physical) health.

Permalink Mark Unread

Her Acererak is very convenient.

With the unwilling passengers secreted away, they can go return the hovercraft and get back to their ship without having to burn the port behind them.

Permalink Mark Unread

Makes things a bit easier, especially since Acererak's gotten most of the destructiveness out of her system (for now).

She thinks they should set up their helper with her own (small) room as a 'reward' (modified to be lockable from the outside, of course, and to be hard to kill oneself in). Ahmi can sleep at their feet or in a cage, perhaps? And they can make a nice pretty cage for their little songbird...

Permalink Mark Unread

A room for their helper seems well-earned. Perhaps one of the supply closets. (And they might want to think about giving her a name...)

They should put their songbird's cage on a float, to easily move it to wherever they desire music. For Ahmi, Eliese favors keeping her in the leash and collar, nothing else, no cage.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak's terrible at names, sadly... But those sound like excellent ideas.

Permalink Mark Unread

Perhaps 'Starjay', a common bird on Eliese's homeworld.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I like it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We can scribe it on her door."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Make it easier to find her later."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Indeed."

And then to set up Starjay's new room and inform her of it, and her new name.

Permalink Mark Unread

She nods, a bit miserably, and thanks them.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Cheer up, Starjay. You'll have lots of fun with us."

Permalink Mark Unread

Quicker nod. "Yes ma'am."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Good girl. Off to your room, now."

Permalink Mark Unread

She scurries off.

Permalink Mark Unread

"So," she says to Acererak. "New recruits and a ship at your command. Where shall we venture next, my lady?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'd like to teach you some of my magic," she says, stretching languidly. "So you can make yourself immortal. It'll take a while to get more than the basics, probably, so it's best to start soon... And of course wandering around the universe finding targets to practice on is always fun."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That sounds good to me. I'll set a course, and we can get started."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "I can't wait."

Permalink Mark Unread

That task is accomplished swiftly enough, and then they can get to the important business.

Eliese is an eager and diligent student. Learning about magic was always her favorite thing to do, and a new magic system is even better.

Permalink Mark Unread

It's been a very, very long time since Acererak actually taught someone from the ground up - usually she's more doling out secrets to the powerful.

She - enjoys it. A lot.

She's a good teacher, despite how her experience is far in the hazy recesses of her memory. Knowledgeable, aware of her student's level, demanding...

Permalink Mark Unread

Her teaching is well-matched to Eliese. By the time two months have gone by, she's mastered a handful of basic spells and planned out what she needs to create her own phylactery.

She books them a night at a fancy hotel in their most recent port of call. The penthouse suite, with a catered dinner.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lovely. Should they bring their pets?

Permalink Mark Unread

The pets can stay on the ship. This is a special night for just the two of them.

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "Alright, darling."

Permalink Mark Unread

Off to the hotel! The suite is truly extravagant, consisting of no fewer than six rooms and taking up the entire top floor. The dining table has a dumbwaiter in the center that the food is sent up in when they request it, so they needn't be disturbed by waitstaff. In the corner of the dining room is a person-sized box.

Eliese pulls Acererak into a dipping kiss. "Happy birthday, sweetheart."

Permalink Mark Unread

Cling! And deep kiss. "Awww, you're sweet."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You bring out the best in me."

Permalink Mark Unread

Heeeee. "Rather hard, with how great you always are."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You are very talented."

Permalink Mark Unread

She kisses her girlfriend, stroking her cheek. "We both are." Nuzzle. "What do you have planned for me?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Dinner, and then you can open your present." She nods at the box. "We should probably get to that in the next... oh, two hours or so."

Permalink Mark Unread

Giggle. "Then we should start dinner soon. Wouldn't want to be rushed."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Of course." To the dining room. She presses the button to signal the start of the meal. "I've ordered us a four-course galactic sampler, so I hope you can find some new favorites."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sounds delicious." She settles in at the table, grinning at Eliese.

Permalink Mark Unread

She grins back. The food rises up in the middle of the table.

"Let's eat."

Permalink Mark Unread

She tries a bit of everything, of course, eating leisurely and commenting on the food - she likes quite a bit of it (especially anything sweet, sour, or fruity), isn't fond of some of it, is very fond of Eliese...

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese saves the best bits for her, and provides snippets of commentary on the history or cultural milieu of the dishes.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak's interested in that! And in hearing Eliese talk. She's grinning the entire dinner, and laughs fairly often at this or that amusing tidbit.

Permalink Mark Unread

It's so nice to see her happy.

Eventually, they've eaten their way through everything available.

Permalink Mark Unread

She kisses her girlfriend.

"Time for my present, then?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Just about. Best not to wait any longer, I think..."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "I'm excited." She stands, offering Eliese her hand.

Permalink Mark Unread

She takes it and leads her to the box, moving it to the center of the room.

Permalink Mark Unread

She bounces and goes to open the box.

Permalink Mark Unread

Inside... is an enormous tiered cake! Beautifully decorated in climbing roses, intricately detailed with tiny droplets of crimson falling off each delicate thorn. Strapped to one side of the dismantled box is a theatrically large knife to cut the cake with.

"Start from the top," Eliese advises.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh, it's gorgeous, darling..." she says, picking up the knife and tapping her chin. "Almost a shame to cut into... But it does look rather tasty." She grins at her girlfriend and goes to slice into it - slowly, from the top.

Permalink Mark Unread

About halfway down, she hits a metal plate that makes a ting sound, and the upper half of the cake begins to rise up on a platform

Permalink Mark Unread

Fancy.

She steps back a bit, watching with interest.

Permalink Mark Unread

The bottom of the cake is hollow, and contains a blindfolded and gagged girl, wrists bound to ankles and tattoos wrapping across her back and down both arms, scrollworks and birds and flowers.

"Traditionally she's supposed to stand up and congratulate you on your birthday," Eliese says, "but when I explained that we wouldn't be doing the cake until after dinner and I needed it here beforehand, well. She became quite rude."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "She's lovely."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!

"So there are your three presents; dinner, the cake, and the girl."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm approaching full... I might have a little cake - it looks so tempting - then play with the girl some, and save the rest for later."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It is your birthday. You're entitled to do whatever you wish, today of all days."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!!!

And then: using a spell to levitate the girl out of the cake while she cuts a reasonably thick slice for herself, making sure to include at least one rose. She floats the girl into the living room, dropping her in the middle and lounging on a couch with her cake, patting the seat beside her. "I'll be hands off, for this," she says, then raises the plate with a grin. "Allows me to savor this more."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese slides into the seat next to her with a grin.

Permalink Mark Unread

She snuggles her, takes a bit of her cake - takes a moment to moan, it's so good - and then starts casting, keeping the girl's bonds in place as she traces little cuts along her rather pretty tattoos.

Permalink Mark Unread

The girl twitches at the cuts, moaning behind her gag.

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmm... She leaves the girl gagged until she's finished tracing the tattoos, leaving thin trails of blood all over her lovely skin, then deftly cuts away the gag.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Wh- Who's t-there?" Her voice quavers in fear and pain. "P-please let me g-go!"

Permalink Mark Unread

She swallows her latest bite of cake. "Awww, but we've just started having fun, and it is my birthday..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Your birth- oh god." She heaves a shuddering breath.

Permalink Mark Unread

She retraces one of the earlier cuts that's since closed, asking, "Not excited for me?" as she does so.

Permalink Mark Unread

She cries out in pain.

"H-h-happy bir-birthday," she manages, weakly.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Aw, thank you."

Permalink Mark Unread

Whine.

Permalink Mark Unread

"My girlfriend said you were rude to her... But if you're very polite now, I'll consider it lesson learned, and even let you go when we're done, alright?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Jerky nod.

Permalink Mark Unread

Ghostly hands brush over the girl's skin. "What do you say, when someone's nice to you?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Th-thank you?" She makes it sound like a question.

Permalink Mark Unread

"You're quite welcome."

The hands brush more firmly - and the invisible cuts pick back up. Acererak's escalating pretty slowly, though. (For now.)

Permalink Mark Unread

She shivers at the touches. "Ah! Ah!"

Permalink Mark Unread

An excellent present.

Acererak ramps the intensity of both pain and pleasure up slowly, still savoring her cake (and ending up getting another slice - telekinetically - at one point, it's really unfairly delicious) while snuggling her girlfriend.

(This is - nice. Almost low key, really.)

Permalink Mark Unread

The girl would like to get off this ride at any time now, please.

Eliese is very much enjoying snuggling her girlfriend and watching her work.

Permalink Mark Unread

It's fun, and Acererak has no intention to let the girl off this ride before she's good and satisfied.

She nuzzles her girlfriend, cozy, as she takes the girl apart piece by piece.

Still... She's full and comfortable, a warm haze has settled over her emotions, and her chest feels like it'll burst every time she looks at Eliese. She strings out the girl's torture for a while, of course, mostly artistically arranged cuts and slices with a few burns for good measure, but - eventually she waves her hand, knocking the girl unconscious and then healing her.

"Let's go to bed, darling," she says. "She'll keep for the morning."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese stands and scoops Acererak up in one fluid motion.

"That sounds wonderful."

Permalink Mark Unread

She giggles and leans into Eliese, pressing a kiss into her shoulder. "Going to dote on me more?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She nuzzles the top of her head. "It is your special day, after all."

Off to bed!

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak loves being doted on.

Eliese is so good, so excellent (and Acererak is just happy, somewhere deep in her bones, something in the back of her mind slowly unclenching...).

(Privately, she isn't sure the last time she felt this - contentment. She gets restless, usually, pretty quickly, she has the patience to stick with decades long schemes to fuck over universes creatively, but - not really with things she's doing purely for momentary hedonism like most of her past lovers - Eliese is wonderful and Acererak probably needs to stare at these strange emotions a bit... Later. Now is for fun.)

Permalink Mark Unread

Indeed it is, and so fun is what they shall have.

Permalink Mark Unread

Good good good - she can barely breathe through the glow in her chest - she is so so fond of Eliese, wants to snuggle her all night long, just stare at her face -

Permalink Mark Unread

"You know," she says softly, stretching languidly, "there's also a hot tub."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oooooo," she says, appreciatively. "You're going to spoil me rotten at this rate."

Permalink Mark Unread

"If it's only once a year, I can afford it."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "Oh, good."

Permalink Mark Unread

Hot tub?

Permalink Mark Unread

Hot tub!

Permalink Mark Unread

It's sized comfortably for two people, with a variety of jets and bubblers to play around with. There is also a selection of scented oils for adding to the water.

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh, nice. Acererak loves the jets and bubblers - they're fun and make her giggle when they hit her back just right - and she insists on sniffing every oil before picking out something spicy and citrusy for the water.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese giggles as Acererak checks the scents, leaning back and spreading her arms wide along the edge of the tub.

Permalink Mark Unread

She gets the tub to the right level of smelling nice, then floats over to Eliese, sighing and snuggling into her side.

Permalink Mark Unread

Hug.

"Hi."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hi." She kisses the tip of her girlfriend's nose.

Permalink Mark Unread

Hehe.

"I hope this has been memorable enough that you'll remember the date for at least a few years."

Permalink Mark Unread

Soft smile. "I think I will. Especially if you're around to remind me."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss.

"Good. You're cute when you're happy, you know."

Permalink Mark Unread

Heee.

"Awwww." Kiss. "You make me happy."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm glad." Snugs.

"I love you."

Permalink Mark Unread

There is the distinct sound of a record screeching to a halt in Acererak's brain.

She nuzzles her girlfriend's neck to hide her surprised expression, but - is maybe a bit slow at that.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Too soon?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"...Dunno."

"I've never - loved anyone."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Ah. Well."

"You're beautiful and intelligent and you make me very happy. I want to stay by your side for as long as you'll have me but- I don't want to pressure you into reciprocating if you're not ready to."

Permalink Mark Unread

She smiles a little. "You're very, very good."

Soft kiss. "I don't know yet if I love you - I like spending time with you, you make me happy, you're excellent - but..." Shrug. "I've never thought of myself as built in a loving sort of way."

Permalink Mark Unread

She hugs Acererak and kisses the top of her head.

"You don't need to change for me."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle. "That's why you're so wonderful."

And - kind of makes Acererak want to change. Which is a very, very weird feeling...

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmm.

"It should be dawn soon..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We can have a bit more fun with that girl, then head back to the ship, maybe? - And I can modify her memory if you'd rather not risk anyone connecting you to her."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm not worried. Even if she remembers something useful past the terror, there's nothing anyone can do."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Alright." Kiss. "Let's give her a proper send off, then."

Permalink Mark Unread

"All right." Out of the tub and drying off with the exquisitely soft and fluffy towels.

Permalink Mark Unread

Those successfully distract Acererak for a bit. (Perhaps predictably so; her bed on the ship is by now an unholy collection of pillows and soft blankets). Kissing Eliese also distracts her some.

And then off, to have cake and torture for breakfast.

Permalink Mark Unread

Truly the fodder of champions.

Permalink Mark Unread

Important parts of a balanced diet.

Permalink Mark Unread

Nothing but the best for her girlfriend.

(The girl would please very much please like to go home now please.)

Permalink Mark Unread

She heals the girl once they're done - and even very graciously offers to teleport her back to her house. (She has been very good, after all, and Acererak's feeling extremely glowy and happy and generous right now.)

Permalink Mark Unread

Will... they untie her too?

Permalink Mark Unread

Sure, why not.

Permalink Mark Unread

Then she will accept.

Permalink Mark Unread

She drops the girl off - unties her with magic - and then teleports back into Eliese's arms.

"That was such a good birthday."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was nothing very elaborate..."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss! "It was thoughtful, and fun, and together with you - I think I like private things, for birthdays. Elaborate social events can happen later."

She idly (magically) starts packing up the remaining cake and misc food to bring back to the ship. (Fortunately she can preserve things magically as well.)

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll be sure to keep that in mind."

Permalink Mark Unread

Heeeeee.

(Back to the ship?)

Permalink Mark Unread

Once she's got everything she wants packed up.

Permalink Mark Unread

That doesn't take long - she does spend some time lazing around, of course, but she's pretty much done here.

(She's somewhat in the mood to set a course for an amusement park, actually...)

Permalink Mark Unread

That can be arranged. There's a decent galactic-class one on this planet, actually...

Permalink Mark Unread

They don't even have to go far, then! That's always nice.

Permalink Mark Unread

Indeed. Does she want to start with the water park or the mag-coasters?

Permalink Mark Unread

Tough choices, here...

(Water park.)

Permalink Mark Unread

The water park it is.

A staff member politely requests they wear a sarong in addition to the bikinis. Park policy.

Permalink Mark Unread

The fabric's pretty enough to mostly make up for Eliese being a bit more covered up...

Still, even with silly rules (which she is not above cheating at with illusions) it's a lot of fun.

Permalink Mark Unread

Not for nothing is the Wet 'n' Wild Splashfancy Ultimate Powerventure Zone listed as a "must-see" destination in more than half of reputable vacation guidebooks.

Permalink Mark Unread

Giggle. (She loves the names of things here.)

Sightseeing's a lot of fun - possibly even worth mixing less destructive vacations into their rotation of stuff they get up to while roaming about.

Permalink Mark Unread

If her lady-love so desires, of course they can.

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss.

Perhaps just to spice things up every now and then.

Still - once they're done at the amusement park, Acererak keeps a focus on teaching Eliese magic even around all the having fun. (There's - a burning under her skin, to make Eliese properly immortal.)

Permalink Mark Unread

Learning magic is fun of a different sort. And Eliese, durable as she already is, would rather not... face the possibility of Acererak having to live without her.

Permalink Mark Unread

" - If you die and I still exist I'll resurrect you, even if I need to invent time travel to do it." She's not sure she's going to want to stay glued to Eliese's side for eternity, eternity is very long, but - the multiverse should contain Eliese, always.

Permalink Mark Unread

Hug.

"I do appreciate that, sweetheart."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle. "You're good and should always exist."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss.

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle.

She guides Eliese through increasingly complex arcane concepts over the next two months leading up to Eliese's own birthday.

And -

She thinks, in her down time, whenever she's hanging out on her own or separately from Eliese. Pauses in the middle of reading to stare into space. Turns over the emotions Eliese kindles in her chest, Eliese's love confession, the terrifying idea of loving someone -

Eliese wouldn't demand anything change. She's good like that, wonderful, doesn't expect Acererak to be anything other than who she is -

But it'd change something in Acererak's head all the same, she thinks, if she loved Eliese. (She's not sure. She meant it, about never having loved anyone before. How should she even know what love feels like?)

Acererak spends a lot of her time on planning Eliese's birthday present, too - more than she needs to. Eliese is unlikely to be upset if Acererak gifts her an unwilling alt... And caring about other people's preferences and consents and - social stuff - is hard - and Eliese might like a masochist her more, which is a terrifying thought even though it shouldn't be, Acererak's never cared if her lovers drifted away from her before -

Finding alts with the same face as Acererak and no attached alts of Eliese or ability to beat them in a fight is pretty easy. Finding alts who'd consent to being Eliese's present (or at least be able to work with them after) is - harder. Acererak ends up spending an hour scrying most nights, paging through the multiverse.

She gets jittery as Eliese's birthday approaches and she still hasn't found anyone for sure, the time she spends scrying quickly eating into her private reading time. It's stupid. She should just settle for an unwilling her - there's so many alts of her out there anyways, several of them pretty close repeats of each other, it doesn't matter if they use up and discard one - but Eliese might be sad about that thought -

And then, two days before Eliese's birthday, her scrying stumbles on a tied up her presently being tortured - apparently for an audience.

Acererak watches, fascinated, renewing the scry when it would have run out on its own, tracking her alt through the entire session and then being untied after - the alt heals herself and smiles and laughs with her torturer, jokes about this exhibit being popular -

Apparently she has at least one alt with bizarre pastimes. Well, it works, and the alt even has the same face as her...

Acererak makes sure Eliese is otherwise occupied, leaves a note that she's stepped out for a bit and should be back within a few hours, and opens a gate to her alt's apartment.

Permalink Mark Unread

Her alt is currently cooking dinner. She notices immediately when Acererak enters, spinning with a knife in her hand, examining her alt with narrowed eyes.

"Who are you?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She bows a bit extravagantly. Mostly to hide her totally irrational nerves. "My name is Acererak."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Ah huh. You're not an Art." She tilts her head, eyeing the space Acererak stepped through. "And your magic's too powerful for a Favored - and you have my face, but that doesn't really mean much... An explanation would be nice, if you're feeling like it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You're perceptive." She drapes herself over a nearby couch, glancing around the airy and bright apartment. "Have you heard of other universes?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"In theory. Most of the Arts fled from an ugly one."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, I'm from another - hopefully a pretty one - and people sometimes repeat across universes, and I had reason to find another of me."

Permalink Mark Unread

She raises an eyebrow and relaxes. "You're not lying." She turns back to her meal prep, pausing the cooking process, and goes to sit across from Acererak. "Is that reason shareable?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes - and you're taking this well."

Permalink Mark Unread

Her alt snorts. "An alternate universe me feels less weird than some of the other things I've run into."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Fair enough." She shrugs. "May I have your name?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure. I'm Lace. And you were going to share why you came here - ?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She nods and tries not to fidget. "It's perhaps a bit of a story - but, well, I have this girlfriend, and her birthday's in two days..."

Permalink Mark Unread

Laugh. "And our first interdimensional contact since the dawn of the universe is a booty call?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She laughs a bit, too. "You could say that, I suppose."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sounds fun."

Permalink Mark Unread

She raises an eyebrow. "That easily?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, I'm hot, and I know I have good taste..."

Permalink Mark Unread

Heh.

"We'd want to hurt you, quite a bit. Maybe keep you for a time."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I have three weeks of paid leave saved up, and nothing major scheduled coming up. Two days is enough warning for the museum to cover for me."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You," she says, "Are a strange me."

Permalink Mark Unread

Her smile softens. "You're not a masochist, are you?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She shakes her head. "Not at all."

Permalink Mark Unread

"And your girlfriend's a sadist."

Permalink Mark Unread

She nods. "A delightfully inventive one."

Permalink Mark Unread

"So you tracked down a masochistic you - that's adorable."

Permalink Mark Unread

She blushes a bit. "Yes, well, only the best for her..."

Permalink Mark Unread

Awwwwwwwww.

"Well, I'm delighted to be the bizarrely masochistic and easy us, then."

Permalink Mark Unread

She grins. "Good."

Permalink Mark Unread

Heh.

"For limits - I'm down with everything that'll leave me alive and free at the end. I'm a demigod of Battle, so I can survive pretty extreme injury, but I'd rather not test my immortality too much... And I'd like to at least get a chance to return here before my three weeks of leave are up, I've put down some roots that're worth at least being more careful about undoing."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I can be careful - though I do have lossless resurrection..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Extreme risky injury objection withdrawn, though I'd recommend leaving how far you go there up to your girlfriend."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Fun."

"I can be back tomorrow evening to collect you, if that's okay? I'd like to get a place set up for my girlfriend ahead of time..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That's plenty of time."

"And - if your weird foreign magic includes memory modification... I don't want to permanently forget consenting and then taking my leave, but I wouldn't object if you wanted to suppress the memory of this conversation. For a bit of extra fun."

Permalink Mark Unread

"The reversible kind would undo itself after a few days and might be less sticky on a demigod, but that does exist, yes. I'll knock you out and ask my girlfriend what she thinks before waking you, how about."

Permalink Mark Unread

She nods. "She's lucky to have you."

Permalink Mark Unread

Grin. "I'll leave you to your dinner, then...?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Only if you're in a rush to get out - I don't mind feeding you, and it'd be nice to use up some of my perishables."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Then I'll stick around - Eliese isn't expecting me back for a few hours, and... I'd like to get to know you."

Permalink Mark Unread

She grins. "Same."

Permalink Mark Unread

And, after a rather lovely dinner and a light conversation about favorite art styles (apparently a bit of a universal obsession in this world), Acererak returns to their ship, humming happily and going to find Eliese to flop on.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Was your errand successful?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Very much so." Kiss.

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss.

"Good."

Permalink Mark Unread

Snuggle.

She swings from jittery to very excited over the next day, flirting with Eliese a lot, thinking some... Mostly planning the finishing touches on Eliese's birthday, but also still mulling over the love question in the back of her head.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese believes Acererak to be Planning Something. She doesn't want to spoil the surprise for herself, however, and so will politely restrain her curiosity.

Permalink Mark Unread

She vanishes after dinner the day before Eliese's birthday, only slipping back just before Eliese normally gets up for the day.

When Eliese does get up, there's a small feast of her favorites for breakfast and a grinning Acererak.

Permalink Mark Unread

Something is definitely Up.

"Good morning, sweetheart."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Good morning, darling. Happy birthday."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese beams at her.

"Why, thank you."

Permalink Mark Unread

She pulls out a seat for her girlfriend, and then with a totally innocent expression on her face doesn't mention a single thing that might be Up the entire breakfast.

Permalink Mark Unread

So it's a challenge, then.

Very well, Eliese will contain herself until Acererak decides to reveal whatever it is she has to reveal.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak has not obtained any more patience in the last forty eight hours, alas. She's squirming before Eliese is.

Once they've eaten: "Can the ship handle itself for a little bit?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"How long would a little bit be?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Perhaps... Until sometime tomorrow?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hmm... We might want to feed and water the pets, but I think it should be fine."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We can leave them with full bowls."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Then I suppose there's nothing stopping us."

Permalink Mark Unread

She holds out an arm invitingly.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese takes it with a smile.

Permalink Mark Unread

And a few seconds later, the world blinks around them -

And they're elsewhere.

There's clover and small flowers and moss under their feet - exceptionally soft - and artfully arranged willows around them, and a blue early morning sky overhead without a cloud in sight. The air has an almost unreal quality to it, everything beautiful and artistic in a way reality tends not to be. They're standing with their backs to a stacked stone wall that seems to run around the forest, and a small waterfall trickles over it a few dozen feet to their left, landing in a gently babbling stream. A smooth stone path leads ahead of them, and the highest turret of a large mansion just visible through the trees.

Permalink Mark Unread

"A beautiful world."

Slyly, "Did you make it for me?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She squeezes Eliese's hand. "Yes. Just for you, darling. And there's more presents inside."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh my. I can't wait."

Permalink Mark Unread

Heee. "Then let's not dawdle." She starts pulling Eliese gently down the path.

Permalink Mark Unread

Down the path to the mansion!

Permalink Mark Unread

It's just as beautifully designed as the rest of the world - thoroughly to Eliese's tastes (Acererak's been paying attention) and large and sprawling, surrounded by impressive gardens. Acererak leads Eliese inside, kissing her just after the threshold.

"Now... Do you want your smaller presents first, or your big one?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mmm... Work me up to it. Gently."

Permalink Mark Unread

She kisses Eliese's cheek. "Alright, darling. Your smallest ones are in the sitting room, through here..."

She leads Eliese into an airy study with two wooden jewelry boxes sitting on the desk, a bounce in her step.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Ooh." She opens the boxes.

Permalink Mark Unread

They contain: a necklace and a bracelet! Both are a shimmery silver metal Eliese can't really identify, with deep black gemstones woven along their length. Both have an apparently somewhat precariously attached pendant hanging off.

"They're magic," Acererak says, eagerly. "Both linked to planar travel spells - if you break the pendant off the necklace, you'll be teleported to this plane, and if you break the pendant off the bracelet, I'll be teleported to you, no matter where I am. They can't be activated by other people, but the necklace has a rudimentary intelligence - it can break itself if it senses you're in extreme and imminent danger and unable to break the necklace yourself."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh, that's so sweet-" Time for kisses.

Permalink Mark Unread

Kisses!!!

"I'm glad you like them - I can repair them pretty easily, so it's okay to use them outside of emergencies, but they can't self repair..." Yet, growth mindset.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I will keep that in mind." She puts the bracelet and the necklace on, then poses flirtatiously. "How do I look?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Stunning."

Permalink Mark Unread

She caresses the bracelet.

"I love them, thank you."

Permalink Mark Unread

Heeeeee!!!

"You're so very welcome, darling."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!

"And you said there was more?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes." She gestures to some grand double doors across the room from them. "The next bit's just through those doors..."

Permalink Mark Unread

Let's see what's behind them, then.

Permalink Mark Unread

Appears to be...

An enormous library! It has sitting areas, of course, and art, and a computer, but it's three stories, probably a significant chunk of the mansion's floor space, and mostly books by volume. There's a few closed cabinets that look promising, too.

Permalink Mark Unread

Wow.

"Wow."

Permalink Mark Unread

Heeee!!!

"Arcana books don't digitize well..." she says, a bit teasingly. "The cabinets mostly have digital servers in pocket dimensions, but one also has some grouchier books it'd be inadvisable to store with the others."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Is that one... marked?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"The plaques on the doors describe their content," she says, gesturing to a nearby one (which is marked as containing some of the promised electronic data). "The dangerous one is that one over there, the doors have a different design, too..." She points across the room.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Fair enough, then. I suppose I will be spending quite a bit of time here."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss! "You'll have eternity for it, after all."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!

"That I will."

Permalink Mark Unread

She makes a happy noise.

Permalink Mark Unread

"This seems like a big present..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I already owned most of these books, and I enjoy being extravagant..." she says, shrugging a bit. "But..." She rubs the back of her head, a bit sheepish. "I - really like you. And... If I can love anyone, I think I love you."

It's said quietly, earnestly, and -

She's kind of having the revelation as she says it.

It feels - freeing.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese sweeps her up in a giant hug.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eeeeee!

Hugs, and kisses, because - she loves her girlfriend, or if she doesn't liking her feels so nice it's the same in everything but the tiny details -

Permalink Mark Unread

"I love you too, sweetheart."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Love you, darling - that feels so nice to say."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It does, doesn't it?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"It does!!! You're wonderful, and I love you."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!!

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!!!

(She's going to get distracted from her last present, probably, but Eliese's so good and Acererak wants to keep her to herself for a few moments longer.)

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese is happy to be a distraction.

Permalink Mark Unread

Best distraction.

Still, eventually... "I did have one more gift for you."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh?" Eliese is intrigued.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Just this way, darling..." she says, leading Eliese back out into the hallway - and to a room nearby the library, with a good view of the garden.

It appears to be a bedroom, richly and tastefully appointed, well lit, a four poster bed in the center, cabinets along the walls, an en suite bathroom...

Permalink Mark Unread

And a woman with Acererak's face spread out on the blood red sheets, naked and deeply asleep, golden chains attached to each limb, securing her to the bed with just enough give she'd be able to struggle, her hair loose in a halo around her head.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese gives a startled burst of laughter, grabbing on to Acererak.

"You didn't."

Permalink Mark Unread

Giggle. "Only the best for my darling."

Permalink Mark Unread

Firm kiss.

"I love you."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!

"I love you too." Nuzzle. "She agreed to this, by the way - I know you'd said alts should be able to work together, so I - wanted someone we wouldn't make an enemy of, doing this."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese kisses her cheek and pets her hair.

"So thoughtful."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle. "I can suppress her memory of ever meeting me, though, if you'd rather she not remember consenting."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Ooh. That sounds fun."

Permalink Mark Unread

Grin. "I thought so too."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Let's do it, then," she decides.

Permalink Mark Unread

She gives Eliese a quick kiss then walks over to Lace, casting with a bit of a flair and tapping her forehead. "The memories will stay suppressed for two days, or until I release them."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Good, good." She taps her lip with a finger, contemplating.

Permalink Mark Unread

"How do you want to start?" she asks, voice almost breathless.

Permalink Mark Unread

"A blindfold, I think. Maximize the disorientation. And it seems like it would give the game away if she sees you too early..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mmm, yes..." She turns and opens a cabinet - which turns out to be full of bondage supplies - pulling out a blindfold to fix around Lace's head.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I might ask you to turn invisible at some point, if that's all right."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It is, darling. And I can go inaudible to her, too."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Wonderful." Kiss.

Permalink Mark Unread

Heeee. Kiss!

"I'm excited," she murmurs.

Permalink Mark Unread

"So am I." She goes to look through the cabinet and pull a few choice toys out into easy reach.

Permalink Mark Unread

The cabinet is exceptionally well stocked, and there's even a little side table that can be used to hold their toys.

Acererak hums, looking over Eliese's selections.

"I don't even know if I'm more excited to get my hands on her, or to watch you torturing her..." she breathes.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese winks. "I'll save you a turn."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Thank you, darling."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think I'm just about ready to begin, then."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Alright. I'll wake her, then?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes please."

Permalink Mark Unread

She taps her alt on the forehead and then steps back, giving Eliese room to work.

Permalink Mark Unread

And Lace stirs, making a confused, uncomfortable noise, reflexively tugging at her bonds then stilling.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese reaches out to caress her face.

Permalink Mark Unread

She flinches a bit. "Who's there?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese runs her thumb across her lips. "My name is Eliese."

Then she slaps her. "You will address me as 'mistress'."

Permalink Mark Unread

She shivers and jerks. Then, voice only lightly quivering: "No."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Arcing Bolt." Lightning jumps from Eliese's fingertips into Lace, then to her chains, then back to Lace, over and over again.

Permalink Mark Unread

She spasms, screaming.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese waits until she stops.

"Would you care to rethink your answer?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Small whine. She's breathing a bit heavily. Her fingers and toes curl a bit.

"Mmmm..." Shaky breath.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Scorch Wave," Eliese says, and a blast of superheated air gusts over Lace's supine body, crisping all her exposed skin pink at once.

Permalink Mark Unread

That gets her a nice scream and a small jerk, arching Lace's back.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She moans a bit. "Hmmm, I think you need to be a bit more persuasive..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Ice Breath," Eliese whispers, and begins kissing down her body, leaving crystalline imprints of snap-frozen flesh.

Permalink Mark Unread

Wiggle! She gives little yelps and moans at every kiss.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think," she says between kisses, "that you like this."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Wha - " moan "whatever makes you" whine "think that - " yelp.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I can see it," she ghosts up to press a kiss to either side of her mouth, "in your face."

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmm!!!

"Still," she says, moaning when the sides of her lips crack, "Need to impress me..."

Permalink Mark Unread

She takes a blade from the side table and begins cutting away the patches of skin she's kissed. In the wounds she places Flame Droplets, everburning. She pauses now and then to mix in some more electrifications.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace writhes, screaming and whining, her limbs all shaking -

And then, after a particularly painful bit: "M- Mistress - "

Permalink Mark Unread

Can you heal her, sweetheart? Eliese sends to Acererak.

Permalink Mark Unread

She nods and does so - from a distance, to not reveal her presence.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace's wounds close over. She collapses as much as she can, shaking and crying.

Permalink Mark Unread

"There, there," Eliese pets her. "You're a good girl, yes you are."

Permalink Mark Unread

She whines.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Dancing Sparks," Eliese says, and causes lines of static to ripple down Lace's body.

Permalink Mark Unread

That gets her a wriggle and a deep moan.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Tell me your name, pretty girl."

Permalink Mark Unread

"'M Lace."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Laaace." Eliese draws out the name, singsonging it. "Did you like it when I carved you up like your namesake, Lacey?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She wiggles.

Permalink Mark Unread

"That wasn't an aaaann-swer, Laaaacey. Arcing Bolt."

Permalink Mark Unread

She screams again, back arching dramatically.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Come now, I'm waiting."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mmmm, yes."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You say 'Yes, mistress'. Ice Slide." She freezes the sheet beneath Lace.

Permalink Mark Unread

Shriek!

"Yes, mistress."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Good girl." Pet pet.

Permalink Mark Unread

She wiggles a little more, moaning low in her throat.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese laughs.

"Now that we've been properly introduced, why don't we play... a getting-to-know-you game? Does that sound like fun?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmmm. "Maybe."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese stabs the knife through Lace's palm.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eeeeeeep!

She screams and jerks, but can't get very far what with the chains.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I expect you," she says evenly, "to be polite when you speak to me, Lacey."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes ma'am," she breathes out, voice shaky.

Permalink Mark Unread

She leaves the knife where it is.

"Now. The way this game will work is: you pick a body part, and I will pick one of fire, frost, or lightning. Then I will introduce the two. We'll go until we've covered your whole body. If you repeat yourself, or if you take longer than three seconds when I ask for the next place, you'll get a penalty. Do you understand?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes, mistress, I understand." Wiggle.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Then let us begin."

Permalink Mark Unread

She names her uninjured hand, first.

(She is mostly very good about naming body parts quite promptly, and consistently very, very good about screaming and writhing when hurt. Still, she earns a few penalties, mostly from spending a bit too long putting her thoughts back together after an introduction somewhere particularly sensitive.)

Permalink Mark Unread

A penalty means the last three places get repeated, with their elements swapped.

Eliese has a lot of fun with this game.

Permalink Mark Unread

She ends up with one penalty happening twice in a row. That leaves her sobbing - she might need a bit of a delay before Eliese asks for the next place, now, to avoid a bit of a loop there.

Permalink Mark Unread

Because she is a kind a generous soul, Eliese lets Lace collect herself a bit after that. Chaining penalties is work for her too, after all.

Permalink Mark Unread

It doesn't take her too long to pull herself together, at least. Maybe a minute, mostly spent crying and trying in vain to curl into a ball.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Give me the next one, dear Lacey."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Ah - my left calf."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Shock Needle." She weaves it in and out of the muscle, and the game is back on.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace is still coherent when Eliese finishes, but her burned chest is heaving with sobs, her frostbitten lips screwed up in pain. Most of her muscles have locked up, pulling constantly - uncomfortably - against her chains.

Permalink Mark Unread

Simply beautiful.

"There now. Wasn't that fun? I feel like I know you much better."

Permalink Mark Unread

Whine.

"Yes mistress."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese pets her hair. "You are a good girl. Do you want to be healed?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes ma'am."

Permalink Mark Unread

Will you oblige us again, sweetheart? she sends to Acererak, bending over to kiss Lace.

Permalink Mark Unread

Of course, darling.

She times her heal perfectly for when Eliese's lips properly meet Lace's.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace whimpers a bit.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese nibbles her lip.

Permalink Mark Unread

She kisses back, the edges of her lip curling up some.

Permalink Mark Unread

Yummy.

Permalink Mark Unread

She tugs at her bonds, perhaps testing them, perhaps a bit impatient, as they kiss.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Getting twitchy, are we?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Only a little bit, mistress."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I like to feel you squirm beneath me. Ice Slide."

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmm!!!

She definitely squirms at that.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese giggles. Kisses!

Permalink Mark Unread

Squirmy kisses!

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmm.

"If I take these chains off, are you going to keep being a good girl?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She hums, considering that.

(She doesn't feel that she really needs to maximize her chances of escaping, here; even if her captors don't release her eventually someone will notice she's gone, notify her dad, who'll notify her bio dad who'll storm the place and then probably taunt her about getting caught without a fight. Getting rescued would be more embarrassing than not that, but honestly this is also a pretty fun kidnapping.)

(Something feels wiggly about that thought, but she's not really in the right mindset to poke it, right now.)

"Maybe," she teases. "I've been told I'm a brat, though."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese takes the knife and punctures her other hand.

"You really are."

Permalink Mark Unread

Aaaaaaah!!!!

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sparking Tether." A chain of electricity binds itself to the knife, sparking out to her fingers and wrist and back, causing the muscles to convulse involuntarily.

"Remember what I said about politeness, Lacey?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Aaaah - ah - yes - ah - ma'am - !"

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese pats her on the cheek. "Do try to keep it in mind."

You can have a turn when she's loose, sweetheart, she sends to Acererak.

Permalink Mark Unread

Yummy.

Should I be invisible or disguised for that? Or are you ordering her to stay blindfolded?

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace, meanwhile, whines and spasms. "I - I'll be - be good - I - I prom-mise - mis-istress - "

Permalink Mark Unread

She'll stay blindfolded. I don't want to miss out on your face.

Eliese hums and lets her squirm for a few seconds more before cancelling the spell and taking the knife out. "All right Lacey, I'll give you another chance. But the blindfold stays on. You haven't earned your sight yet."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes ma'am, thank you ma'am."

Permalink Mark Unread

She stands up.

Let's take the shackles off, sweetheart.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak waves her hand, causing the shackles on Lace to undo themselves, popping open and retracting just enough to be out of the way of their fun. She steps closer as she does so, gaze flitting hungrily between her girlfriend and alt.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace sighs and curls in on herself, rubbing her wrists a bit. She doesn't make a motion toward the blindfold. "Thank you, mistress."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm going to hand you off for a little while now, Lacey. I expect you to remain on your best behavior."

Permalink Mark Unread

Interesting. Implies there's someone who's been watching... (Exciting.)

She nods. "Yes ma'am."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese bumps her hip against Acererak's, stepping back.

Permalink Mark Unread

She tags in, going to cup Lace's face with one hand. "You've been very pretty when you're screaming..." she says, breathless. "I want to see how you look when scared."

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmm!

She leans her cheek into her new tormenter's hand. "Might be challenging, ma'am."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh, I think you'll find me quite creative there..." She leans down, catching Lace's bottom lip between her teeth.

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmm! (Kiss!)

Permalink Mark Unread

She swings one leg over Lace's prone body, stradling her waist, resting her weight on her left hand on the bed while her right grips Lace's hair tight enough to hurt, her kiss growing in intensity.

Permalink Mark Unread

Laces kisses back, hungrily, winding her now free hands into Acererak's hair.

Permalink Mark Unread

She smirks...

And casts, silently, stilled, the most painful spell in her arsenal, followed immediately by the most pleasurable spell she knows. Both should be debilitating alone, direct attacks on her victim's nervous system...

Permalink Mark Unread

She screams, loud and agonized, mind flying apart, for the six seconds between Acererak's pain and ecstasy spells -

And then her whole body jerks, seizing out of her control, limbs shaking and flailing for a minute - two - she can't keep kissing Acererak, can only scream - and moan, some, when her throat gives out from the screaming, writhing for more, too overwhelmed to beg -

The ecstasy spell wears off after three minutes, leaving only the pain.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak laughs, pressing her hips down, anchoring Lace to the bed. Helpfully, of course. Wouldn't do to have her falling off.

She dispels the pain spell after another minute; perhaps if she and Eliese decide to take a break for cuddles she can leave Lace under for the full six hours it lasts on its own, but, well - for now, she wants a coherent toy. One capable of appreciating her suffering.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace sobs when the pain cuts off.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak kisses her again, nuzzling her and grinning until she seems to have recovered herself a bit.

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh, you've got to teach me those, sweetheart. That was amazing.

Permalink Mark Unread

Heeeeee.

Of course, darling.

Permalink Mark Unread

Seems a bit hard to follow up on...

Permalink Mark Unread

Well, I still need to scare her...

Permalink Mark Unread

I'm looking forward to it.

Permalink Mark Unread

What do you think about me threatening to kill her? Implicitly or explicitly.

(She pets Lace's hair, pining the girl as her alt sobs into her shoulder.)

Permalink Mark Unread

She licks her lips.

So long as you don't actually do it.

Permalink Mark Unread

I'll be cautious. But I bet I can sell the threat all the same.

Permalink Mark Unread

Then go for it.

Permalink Mark Unread

She grins at Eliese, then turns to nuzzle Lace, coaxing her into calming down some.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace bounces back pretty quick for someone who just spent four minutes basically entirely checked out from reality.

She nuzzles Acererak.

"Mmmmmm, that was - so much - but don't think I'm scared ma'am..." she says, a bit breathlessly teasing.

Permalink Mark Unread

She kisses her alt, summoning a knife to her hand, and rests the tip on the hollow of her throat. "Oh, you will be, pet."

Permalink Mark Unread

She tilts her chin back, swallowing reflexively.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak pushes just enough to pull up a single droplet of blood.

"Now the question is methods... There's so many fun options here. Strangulation, evisceration, magic, crushing, fire... Something slow, I think, painful, wouldn't want to cut this short..."

Permalink Mark Unread

That gets her tensing up! Not afraid yet, but - wary. Unsure if there's a bluff, here.

(She hasn't told them she's a demigoddess, almost no one knows or can tell that - she can survive nearly anything, and can enter a false death state if she must, but they might push - )

She shivers, whining a bit, low in her throat.

Permalink Mark Unread

She drags the knife down Lace's sternum, pressing enough to paint a pretty trail of blood.

To Eliese: "What do you think, darling?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Strangulation," she says slowly, "can have a nicely personal touch... though a noose is easy enough to tie. Rig one to have her just at the edge then cut her organs out one by one. Cauterize the wounds and provide healing... It would last quite some time, I imagine."

Permalink Mark Unread

She hums. "That sounds lovely. Though there's a special delight to feeling someone's pulse jump under your hands..." She rests her free hand over Lace's neck demonstratively, the heel of her palm pushing into the cut at the base. Pushes just a little.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace's kink brain kicks in before her fear brain because she is very herself - she moans as both feelings start swirling in her head at once.

Permalink Mark Unread

"We could work together," Eliese says. "Best of both worlds."

Permalink Mark Unread

The thought of Eliese with her hands around Acererak's alt's neck is startlingly hot - Acererak tilts her head back, moaning a little. "That sounds lovely, darling."

And, leaning down to give Lace a kiss (her hand squeezing around her neck), "Do you need to be tied back up, good girl? It's okay if so." Perhaps her arms fixed behind her back, to give Acererak clear access to her vulnerable belly...

Permalink Mark Unread

She makes what is probably the most conflicted noise in the multiverse.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think that's a yes," Eliese says.

Permalink Mark Unread

Giggle. "I think so, too."

She pulls Lace into a sitting position, kissing her more - gestures, and magical shackles shimmer into existence around Lace's wrists, dragging her arms behind her back with no regard to her comfort, securing each wrist to the opposite elbow with far too short lengths of chain, forcing her back to arch quite uncomfortably (and very, very attractively). "You can sit behind her, darling, if you want..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think I will," she says, moving to do so. She gives Acererak a kiss on the cheek in passing.

Permalink Mark Unread

Heeee!

She pulls her hand farther away from Lace's neck so Eliese can move in, keeping her alt pressed to her with hungry kisses.

Permalink Mark Unread

She slides her hands smoothly into position, giving a little test squeeze.

Permalink Mark Unread

That gets her a whining, conflicted moan, as Lace tilts her chin back a bit, accommodating Eliese's hands, pulse picking up as her fear brain asserts itself a little - mixing strangulation into this is so unfair, really muddles her threat processing centers, the feel of her tormenters' hands on her neck is amazing -

Permalink Mark Unread

She squeezes tighter momentarily, enough to cut off the moan.

Permalink Mark Unread

She gasps - quietly, fruitlessly, she can't breathe in that moment - and shivers.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese lets up slightly, her hands still definitely present but no longer so constricting. She leans forward to nibble the edge of Lace's ear.

Permalink Mark Unread

Whine!!!

Permalink Mark Unread

Squeeze.

Permalink Mark Unread

Cheating cheater who cheats.

Permalink Mark Unread

I think she's enjoying this.

Permalink Mark Unread

She certainly is. And she's scared, too, beautifully, I'm recording her face so you can watch this later properly...

She gives Lace one more peck on the cheek before sitting back, eyeing her and planning on where to start with carving her up.

Permalink Mark Unread

I love you.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eeee!

I love you tooooooo!

(She traces the knife lightly down Lace's body, skimming over a few sensitive points Eliese discovered earlier.)

Permalink Mark Unread

She keeps a grip on Lace's throat, squeezing whenever her pulse spikes.

Permalink Mark Unread

(That's quite often with all the emotions racing through Lace's body right now.)

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak's knife cuts a bit more deeply when it reaches Lace's bottom ribs, slicing through the flesh all along the bottom front edge.

She has every intention of taking Lace apart methodologically - slowly - delightfully - and Lace is oh so wonderfully durable, and active bleeds are simple to close without compromising the hollowed out art she's turning her alt into...

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace moans whenever Eliese allows her to, sometimes rising to a wrenching scream.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese grins, watching Acererak concentrate. She is very much looking forward to this recording.

Permalink Mark Unread

She cuts away the skin from Lace's ribs to her pelvis first - the layer of fat under that - slices through the muscle... The organs here aren't instantly deadly to remove, fortunately, especially for someone of Lace's talents. She goes slowly, healing any major bleeds as she works, sometimes using more major healing spells ever so carefully - enough to renew the blood rushing through Lace's cut veins, not enough to regenerate the organs Acererak is reverently cutting free. She examines each as she removes it, turning it this way and that, holding it up for Eliese to admire at times, and she sets them aside carefully, amassing a small collection around her.

She gets through everything in Lace's abdomen she can survive a few hours without, and then starts working her way upward - breaks open Lace's rib cage one bone at a time, exposes her fluttering lungs, her struggling heart, and grins, wickedly.

"I know you're healing yourself, pet," she purrs. "I want you to keep yourself alive for a little bit, here - prioritizing the blood flow to your brain, of course. It wouldn't do for you to fall unconscious..."

(She weaves together contingency healing spells as she does so, setting the nets to a few separate fallback triggers. Lace won't die - but she might very well come close.)

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace has moved past screaming or moaning and into terrified sobbing, the grip around her neck the only thing keeping her upright.

She makes something resembling an affirmative noise.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Pay attention, pet."

She gestures... And Lace's beating heart rips its way out of her chest, landing in Acererak's hand.

She kisses it as it flutters a few final pulses against her lips.

Permalink Mark Unread

Permalink Mark Unread

She kisses Lace, lips bloody -

And her contingents kick in as Lace's own healing falters.

Lace falls unconscious, first, darkness overtaking her - her organs reform, knitting themselves out of nothing - her pulse evens out as her body's healed entirely in a split second.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace slouches, unconscious, breath deep and even.

Permalink Mark Unread

Simply... stunning. Eliese lets Lace fall so she can lunge at Acererak.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eeee!

She lets herself be tackled, throwing herself into a bloody kiss with Eliese - crushing Lace's heart in her hand before dropping it in favor of wrapping herself around her girlfriend.

Permalink Mark Unread

"That" kiss 'was" kiss "the absolute" kiss "hottest" kiss "thing I have ever" kiss "seen you do."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kisses!!!

"That was" kiss "the" kiss "hottest thing" kiss "I've" kiss "ever done."

She presses herself into Eliese, moaning - "I kept thinking, about what she was feeling - I should've set up to read her mind - and your hands around her neck - my face - " Another moan, her hand reflexively going up to feel her own neck.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese moves down to kissing Acererak's neck.

"I have a great need," she murmurs, "to see that recording."

Permalink Mark Unread

She arches into her girlfriend. "Mmmmm, here - " She gestures, hand shaking a bit, and creates a screen - an illusion from Acererak's perspective of everything from when Eliese first stepped behind Lace.

Permalink Mark Unread

It's even better than she had imagined. And gives her lots of motivation to show her girlfriend just how much she loves her.

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmmmm!!!

Acererak writhes against her girlfriend, breathing heavily, pressing kisses into her skin at every opportunity.

Permalink Mark Unread

Hopefully Lace is deeply asleep...

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh definitely, she won't be waking up on her own anytime soon...

Permalink Mark Unread

Then there's no reason not to fully savor how much she loves her girlfriend right now.

Permalink Mark Unread

Good, so good, Acererak loves her so much.

Permalink Mark Unread

Best. Birthday. Ever.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I love," kiss, "how much," kiss, "you've enjoyed this - "

Permalink Mark Unread

"I love that you found a version of you who let herself be cut open and eviscerated. You are beautiful when you're terrified."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!!! And a small moan. "She took me two months to find, she's wonderful - I wanted the best gifts for you - "

Permalink Mark Unread

"Two months- Oh my sweetheart-"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I love you."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I love you too!"

Permalink Mark Unread

!!!!!!! (Wiggle!!!!)

Permalink Mark Unread

"I want some time with just you. Let's tie her up and come back after she wakes."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sounds lovely."

Permalink Mark Unread

So then a brief break to nicely pose Lace. Eliese does like the arms behind the back, and maybe a gag...

Permalink Mark Unread

It's a very delightful pose.

They still have a long while before Lace's memory block runs out on its own - Acererak assumes Eliese wants to leave that in place for now?

Permalink Mark Unread

At least a little longer. See what she's like when she wakes up from dying.

Permalink Mark Unread

And Acererak can actually cast the mind reading spell this time...

Permalink Mark Unread

Exciting!

But for now, she wants Acererak in the library...

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmm, good. (Kiss.)

"I'm all yours, darling."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!

Eliese wants her right here, in the middle of this fantastic present.

Permalink Mark Unread

Yes.

Permalink Mark Unread

Very much yes, prolonged and repeatedly.

Permalink Mark Unread

She ends up with a happy melty cuddly Acererak by the time she's done. And possibly also a hankering for a late lunch.

Permalink Mark Unread

Best Acererak.

Is this place supplied with a kitchen?

Permalink Mark Unread

Yes. And a very nice pantry. Its ability to make food for them is bit limited, though.

Permalink Mark Unread

With two delicious Acereraks readily available, she only requires a minimum of sustenance to keep going.

Permalink Mark Unread

Heeeee.

Acererak is very tired, though... Maybe Eliese should feed her.

Permalink Mark Unread

Poor tired baby... She can just lay her head down in Eliese's lap and be hand-fed choice bits.

Permalink Mark Unread

Wonderful.

Permalink Mark Unread

Yes, she is.

Permalink Mark Unread

Best Eliese. (And yummy food.)

Permalink Mark Unread

After eating, she wants to go see Lace again.

Permalink Mark Unread

Alright. (Lace is still asleep.)

Permalink Mark Unread

"I want to wake her up and take off the blindfold. Can you go invisible?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure thing, darling." She'll have to renew it every thirty minutes or so, but that's no problem.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese gently removes the blindfold, then positions herself to be the first thing Lace will see.

She shakes her shoulder. "Wake up, sleepyhead."

Permalink Mark Unread

She twitches, eyes sliding open, arms reflexively tugging against her bonds.

"Ah?"

It takes her a second to remember - she lets out a confused whine -

She is pretty sure this is not the afterlife??? Though the pretty girl and the bondage honestly would not be strange for most people's theories on that...

Permalink Mark Unread

"Did you enjoy your death, Lacey? Because I did. Very much so."

Permalink Mark Unread

She's - still captive -

The full memory of what happened hits her - she's not still dead, regardless of what happened in the meantime -

She tilts her head back, squirming a bit.

She's not dead, and her fear brain is pretty much throwing its hands up and giving up in exasperation at her.

She's gagged now, though, and can't beg - her kink brain is pretty thoroughly engaged now and yeah that was so hot. In retrospect. Given the lack of actual dying.

So she just moans and squirms a bit more, hopefully demonstratively.

Permalink Mark Unread

"So that's a yes." She licks her lips appreciatively.

"You're very pretty, Lacey." Eliese reaches out to caress her face. "Now that you can see her, do you think your mistress is pretty too?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She tilts her cheek toward Eliese's hand and nods a bit.

Permalink Mark Unread

She laughs.

"You're much less of a brat like this." She runs her thumb over the gag in Lace's mouth. "I like it."

Permalink Mark Unread

Whine!!!

Permalink Mark Unread

"Dancing Sparks." Eliese traces static around her neck and down her side, along the lines of the cuts Acererak made earlier...

Permalink Mark Unread

Ooooohhhh, the electricity - the memory of that knife -

Lace just moans.

Permalink Mark Unread

"You make such lovely noises," she says, leaning back. "Let's hear some more. Arcing Bolt."

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmmm! (That gets Eliese some muffled screaming.)

Permalink Mark Unread

Just what she was hoping for!

She plays with ramping the intensity of her attacks up and down for a while longer, getting Lace to express her full vocal range. When she's satisfied, she looses the gag enough to tug it out of Lace's mouth, letting it hang around her neck like a collar.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace gasps and moans, squirming a bit.

"Mistress," is the first thing she says.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Good girl." Kiss!

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmmmmm kiss!!!

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh, I could just keep you forever," she murmurs.

Permalink Mark Unread

Kink brain is not allowed to make life decisions for Lace but that sounds so hot to hear.

Small squirm. "But we've only just met..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"In a manner of speaking, I suppose..."

Sweetheart, do you want to introduce yourself now?

Permalink Mark Unread

Sure, darling.

She steps forward, brushing an invisible hand through Lace's hair.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace tenses a bit, gaze darting around. "Who - ?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak leans over to kiss her - and drops her invisibility. "You, of course."

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmm!

Also???

(Something is niggling in the back of Lace's brain, almost like a memory.)

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmm this is very very hot.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm - confused?" Shapeshifter with odd aesthetic choices??? Feels weirder than that, though...

Also though someone with her face who wants to kiss her sounds like a very wonderful fantasy.

Permalink Mark Unread

Heh.

Kiss!!! Long and slow and consuming.

To Eliese: She might break the memory suppression on her own soon; I can go ahead and remove it, or try and strengthen it - whichever you'd like.

Permalink Mark Unread

Go ahead and remove it. She's about broken in, anyway.

Permalink Mark Unread

So she dispels the block, smirking.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace tenses as the memories reassert themselves -

Permalink Mark Unread

Then relaxes, moaning and squirming a bit. "Oh, fuck."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Does everything suddenly make much more sense?" Eliese teases.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mmmmm! Yes! That was good and so intense, thank you - " mmmm squirm. "Am I a good present?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"You very much are." Kiss.

Permalink Mark Unread

Happy squirmy kiss!

Permalink Mark Unread

Yes good. And Acererak should have some too.

Permalink Mark Unread

Of course. Acererak strokes Lace's hair, one hand cupping the back of her neck, as she kisses her.

"It's still your birthday, darling..." Acererak teases, after a particularly intense kiss. "And we still have your present all tied up for you..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It'd be a shame to waste her, then. Why don't we work together?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sounds yummy."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Positively delicious."

Permalink Mark Unread

She nuzzles her girlfriend. "Any thoughts on what to do first, then?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hmmm... Actually," she turns to Lace, "now that we're all on the same page, do you have any requests?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She hums, thoughtfully, shifting against her bonds. "Mmm... I like predicament stuff," she says, "And you probably noticed the breath play thing..." Hum. "Maybe tie me up so I'm having to hurt myself to pleasure one of you? Though that's less a three person activity, unless you get creative..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We can do creative."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mmmmm yum."

Permalink Mark Unread

She smirks and pulls Acererak aside for some planning.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace will just be here... Whining and squirming impatiently...

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak laughs and steps aside with Eliese.

Permalink Mark Unread

And after a bit of brainstorming, back to Lace. They'll need to twist her up a bit, so she should hold still...

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmm can do.

Permalink Mark Unread

Such a good cooperative girl.

Permalink Mark Unread

Heeeeeeeeee.

(She's really looking forward to whatever Acererak and Eliese have come up with.)

Permalink Mark Unread

Well...

She unties Lace first - they're going to have to shift her anyways - and gets a bit distracted with a proper make out session, Lace's hands tugging at her hair... But then she pulls her alt to her feet, giving her a peck on the cheek and a wicked grin.

She pushes Lace down so she's bent over the bed, face pressed firmly into the sheets, legs hanging off the side, and summons a bar forcing her knees apart - and keeping them in place relative to each other - as she presses kisses and bites down Lace's spine, pining her down through her weak struggles to breathe.

Next... A web of conjured ropes, forcing Lace to arch her back, securing her arms behind her back again in a different uncomfortable position than before, pulling her knees to her chest, and suspending her in mid air. One noose wraps around her neck, the long end trailing invitingly down her back for whoever's standing behind her to tug on. It drags her head back on its own when not being actively manipulated - not strangling her unless she tries to press forward, but reminding her of its presence and forcing her neck to arch back as far as it will go.

And then Acererak sits on the bed, arrays Lace floating face down in front of her, head hovering over Acererak's lap, pets her hair, and says, "I want you to give me your best here, pet. If you stop, even to take a breath, or if I feel you're not enthusiastic enough, my darling here will give you a penalty until you remember your place. If you delight me, I'll let you rest - and even maybe give you a reward. Perhaps a bit of pleasure to mix in with the pain..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mmm, yes ma'am, I'll do my best."

She's going to have to strangle herself to actually touch Acererak even lightly, let alone enthusiastically...

Permalink Mark Unread

"Good toy." Pat. "Begin."

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace pushes her head down quickly - twitching when the noose tightens around her neck -

She has a very, very good lung capacity, and can heal herself if she gets dizzy.

Still, it's a bit of a race here...

Permalink Mark Unread

A race Eliese is not above fixing with a few strategically timed tugs on the noose. In addition to the penalties, of course.

Permalink Mark Unread

It is well established that they're horrible cheaters.

Lace does her best to swallow her screams - and her desperate need for air and an working neck - to keep pleasuring Acererak, though, even when Eliese is making that very hard.

Permalink Mark Unread

The sight of Lace's head between Acererak's thighs is almost enough to make her ease up.

Almost.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak is having such a good time - she laughs every time Lace earns a penalty, pets her hair and compliments whenever she gets back to work, moans and squirms a good bit.

She finishes with a full body shiver and lays there - hand still on the back of Lace's head - as Lace keeps working her, until she's ridden through the aftermath and is in a mood to tug Lace away.

"You did very well, pet, despite some... Issues..." she purrs, content, and gestures to make the noose relax some. "I think you've even earned a small reward..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Thank you ma'am," Lace murmurs, beaming, head light and fuzzy. She wiggles as much as she can - which isn't much.

Permalink Mark Unread

She floats Lace forward, into her lap, kissing her and getting to work on her reward.

...And stopping when Lace is squirmy and panting and not quite there yet.

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmm!!! Whine!!! "Please ma'am - "

Permalink Mark Unread

Smirk. "A small reward, pet. But perhaps you can do better with my girlfriend..."

Permalink Mark Unread

Wiggle. "I'll try."

Permalink Mark Unread

"My standards are higher," she says, sitting herself down opposite Acererak.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll try really hard."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I hope you do, Lacey."

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak laughs and floats Lace up, moving her into a mirror of the position she was in earlier.

(Acererak is meaner than Eliese).

Permalink Mark Unread

Unfair!!!

(Lace does, in fact, try really hard. She's adjusted more than she had with Acererak, but the disruptions are still making it difficult for her...)

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese cajoles her into greater effort with kind words and laughter.

Permalink Mark Unread

She cuts off the blood flow to her brain at several points - not to mention the damage opposing Acererak's tugs is doing to her trachea. It's very lucky she has a healing factor, here, she might pass out otherwise.

Permalink Mark Unread

Persistence is a virtue, as they say.

Permalink Mark Unread

Still... It seems Lace won't be getting a reward for this part.

Permalink Mark Unread

How very disappointing. There shall need to be an appropriate punishment.

Permalink Mark Unread

Perhaps the pain spell again?

Permalink Mark Unread

That seems nicely hands-off. Frees Acererak for... other matters.

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmm.

She nudges Lace a bit away from Eliese, so Acererak can plop in her girlfriend's lap - and start up the pain spell.

Permalink Mark Unread

Scream!!! And writhe, as much as her bonds allow her.

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss.

"It's still my birthday," Eliese whispers in her ear. "I hope you didn't sabotage her on purpose so you could have a turn."

Permalink Mark Unread

Giggle and kiss. Also in a whisper: "You can have another turn then, darling. I'll be nicer to her."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Not that this is a terrible outcome..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Mmmm, not at all." Kiss. "Perhaps you can be a bit meaner to her, my next turn..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Since you ask it of me."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle. "I rather like watching her penalties, I'll admit."

Permalink Mark Unread

Gentle kiss. "Her reactions are impressive."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm very beautiful when I'm in pain, aren't I?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"You are."

"And at other times as well, I suppose," she adds.

Permalink Mark Unread

"All the time." (...Why is there a weird feeling in her chest, weird feelings should highly consider Stopping It.)

Permalink Mark Unread

"Now that you mention it..." Kiss. "That's right."

Permalink Mark Unread

Heeeee.

"I love you, darling."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I love you, sweetheart."

Permalink Mark Unread

Happy kiss.

(Despite the backdrop of Lace's screams, Acererak's kind of... Forgetting about her, a little, in exchange for doting on her girlfriend.)

Permalink Mark Unread

That's what background music is for. To set the mood, and fade into the background.

Eventually they should let her out, though.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eventually.

Acererak undoes the spell once she's in a more cuddly mood.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace slouches in her bonds, gasping and sobbing.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese drags her into the cuddle pile.

Permalink Mark Unread

She nuzzles them both, shaking, crying into whichever shoulder's presented to her.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese brushes her hair back and kisses her forehead.

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmm.

It takes her a bit to recover.

Permalink Mark Unread

Once she has, Eliese informs her they've decided to allow her a chance to redeem her failure.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Thank you, mistress."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese ruffles her hair fondly. "My good girl deserves it, doesn't she?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Heeeee. She kisses Eliese. "I'll try to be worthy, mistress."

Permalink Mark Unread

Cute when she smiles.

"I hope so, Lacey."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle.

Permalink Mark Unread

And Acererak starts a new round for Eliese. She's nicer to Lace, this time.

Permalink Mark Unread

And Lace is very enthusiastic.

Permalink Mark Unread

And a little more successful, this time around.

Permalink Mark Unread

Does Eliese think she's earned a reward?

Permalink Mark Unread

She has!

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak scoops up Lace, pulls her in between Eliese and Acererak, and shows her a very good time.

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmmmm yes thank you thank you thank you - good -

She wiggles and slumps against them, sighing happily.

Permalink Mark Unread

Pet pet.

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think it's my turn next," Acererak teases. "Though we might want to give our toy a break... What do you think, darling?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Do you need a break, Lacey?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Hum. "Small one? If you want to give me one, mistress."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss. "I think the schedule will stand it."

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak gestures, dismissing her bonds.

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle kiss as she shakes out her arms. "Mmmm, I'd like to stretch... And maybe get some water..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We can give you the tour."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sounds fun."

Permalink Mark Unread

Tour! There's the bedroom (here), kitchen (and glass of water), library (many magic books, very impressive), the garden (beautiful view, Acererak worked very hard on it, she's so talented)...

Permalink Mark Unread

"You guys are cute."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes we are." Eliese kisses Acererak's cheek and wraps an arm around her. "She loooooves me."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle!!! "And she loves me!!!" Which still feels kind of surprising even though it's been two months! Delightfully so, though.

Permalink Mark Unread

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!

"That's adorable and great and I'm really happy for you two."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Thank you," Eliese says smugly.

Permalink Mark Unread

Cute!!!

"How long have you guys been together?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"A little over four months, now."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Though I might've only noticed I loved her this morning..." Acererak says, a bit sheepishly.

Permalink Mark Unread

...

She reaches up to pat her alt on the head.

Permalink Mark Unread

Aw, that's cute.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak pouts and swats at her hand.

Permalink Mark Unread

She giggles and darts in to ruffle Acererak's hair.

Permalink Mark Unread

No that is undignified. (Pout).

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think you might have some useless lesbianitis," she teases, mock serious.

Permalink Mark Unread

Nope that is DISRESPECT.

Acererak chooses to solve this by lunging at Lace.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace laughs and ducks behind Eliese.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese blocks Acererak deftly, and traps her with cuddles.

"She might have a point, sweetheart..."

Permalink Mark Unread

Cuddles! Her only weakness!

She pouts. "Fine, team up on me..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Being defeated by facing two girls at once only strengthens her argument."

Permalink Mark Unread

"And properly double teaming you sounds fun..."

Permalink Mark Unread

Blush!!! (And smaller pout as she tries not to smile.)

Permalink Mark Unread

"See? Lesbianitis! Inflammation of the lesbian. Terrible condition."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese ropes Lace into the hug. "Thank goodness we found you, Doctor Lace! Tell us, is it treatable?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Hug! "There's only one cure!" Faux serious face. "Kisses. And lots of them! All over the inflamed spots."

Permalink Mark Unread

She pokes a finger at Acererak's reddened cheek.

"I may need to enlist your assistance," she says solemnly to Lace.

Permalink Mark Unread

"We'd best administer the cure quickly. The lesbianitis seems to be spreading." (She says, as Acererak's flush spreads down her body.)

Permalink Mark Unread

"How terrible. You start at the top; I'll remove her clothing so we can get at the rest of it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes ma'am."

Kiss! Right on Acererak's forehead; Lace has to stand on tip-toe.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak is really having to struggle to maintain a pouty poker face. Her lips keep trying to smile.

Permalink Mark Unread

She'll struggle more as Eliese tickles her while getting her undressed.

Permalink Mark Unread

Nooooooooooooooooooo she's pouting, definitely not swallowing giggles...

Permalink Mark Unread

Still afflicted, then. Eliese will start at the hips and work up until she meets Lace.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace has more blush to kiss, but less overall surface area... They'll meet in the lower part of the rib cage, most likely - where Lace's type of person is exceptionally ticklish.

Permalink Mark Unread

How terrible... for Acererak.

Permalink Mark Unread

Her composure cracks when they start both working on her ribs, bursting into giggles.

Permalink Mark Unread

Great success.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think our treatment's working."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh good." She kisses the tip of Lace's nose. Since it's right there.

Permalink Mark Unread

That gets a giggle from Lace, now.

Permalink Mark Unread

"You're cute," Eliese informs her.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Exceptionally adorable. Must be a common trait among alts."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Based on a sample size of two, I can only assume that is exactly correct." She turns her head back to kiss Acererak's navel.

Permalink Mark Unread

Giggle.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think we need to expand our sample sizes for proper science."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll have to find another one of me to keep up."

Permalink Mark Unread

Giggle. (And kiss Acererak's side.) "Maybe there's a you whose problems are best solved via copious amounts of extreme masochism."

Permalink Mark Unread

"...I have no idea what that kind of problem would look like."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well in my world you can get magic from the god of suffering if they like your style..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That would do it."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm not sure if Art of Suffering can see into other worlds... I wouldn't be surprised if I get some goodies when I go back to my world, though, especially if I share all those delightful memories..."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eleise smirks. "You're welcome."

Permalink Mark Unread

Heeeee. Kiss!

Permalink Mark Unread

"And I was recording, too..." Acererak says, licking her lips.

Permalink Mark Unread

Ooooooooooooooooo. More kiss!!!

Permalink Mark Unread

"She had a very good angle. Well worth the watch."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You guys are getting me all excited..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Really? How entirely unexpected."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle. "I think I've had enough of a break, mistress..." she purrs.

Permalink Mark Unread

Hee.

"Let's go get you properly trussed up again, then."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yes ma'am."

To the bedroom?

Permalink Mark Unread

Indeed. It is, she believes, Acererak's turn again.

Permalink Mark Unread

That's Acererak's memory too...

(Reapplying the magic bonds - using the same system as earlier - is easy enough, fortunately.)

Permalink Mark Unread

And Lace is going to have to work much harder than last time if she wants to satisfy Acererak. She's already had one chance, after all.

Permalink Mark Unread

She's very enthusiastic and still very willing to choke herself.

Still... If Eliese's being mean, she'll have some trouble. Certainly some penalties.

Permalink Mark Unread

More than a few.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak strokes Lace's hair when she finishes, sighing happily.

"Not horrible... But that really wasn't up to standards, pet."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nervous whine!

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese shakes her head sadly. "She must enjoy being punished."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think she does. Still, perhaps something severe enough will chastise her properly."

Permalink Mark Unread

"There is nothing for it but to try." She walks over to the toy cabinet and pulls out a pair of whips. "Let's get her standing and spread."

Permalink Mark Unread

She gestures, adjusting Lace's bonds so her arms and legs are forced well apart and so she's floating upright between Eliese and Acererak.

Permalink Mark Unread

She passes one of the whips over to Acererak.

"If you take her back, I will see to her front."

Permalink Mark Unread

She licks her lips, raising a finger to twirl Lace around so she's facing Eliese. "Mmmm, begin together?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Nervous whimper. (She squirms a bit.)

Permalink Mark Unread

"On three." She raises her whip. "One. Two. Three." And she lets it fly with a crack, aimed right at Lace's belly.

Permalink Mark Unread

Her strike lands across Lace's tail bone, very precisely aimed.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace jerks and yelps.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese laughs, and lines up more strikes.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak keeps a pretty good rhythm with her - slowly breaking the coordination so Lace has less warning about the lashes to her back.

She doesn't do anything fancy with her whip - unless Eliese starts up mixing in magic first - just a good, old fashioned beating.

She draws more than a bit of blood, of course, but that's to be expected with punishment.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace quivers and yelps and moans, helpless to stop them.

Permalink Mark Unread

No magic here, not until Lace is dripping red from head to toe.

Permalink Mark Unread

So! Many! Whines! (And she bleeds very prettily; her skin's a few shade's paler than Acererak's, and it contrasts wonderfully with the red covering most of her body now.)

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese sets her whip down.

"What do you think, sweetheart? Does our Lacey look sorry?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She taps her chin, still holding the whip. "I think she's learned a lesson."

Permalink Mark Unread

"But was it the lesson she needed?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Perhaps we should give her a test."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Oh, good idea."

Permalink Mark Unread

Back to work for Lace, then... And surely she can work with her wounds still open. As a little reminder of what punishments await for failure, of course.

Permalink Mark Unread

Whether she can or not, she's going to have to.

Permalink Mark Unread

She tries very very very hard, nearly passing out a few times from how much she's straining against the noose. She's definitely learned an enthusiasm lesson.

Permalink Mark Unread

Points for effort, anyway.

Permalink Mark Unread

Worth some small reward, at least.

Permalink Mark Unread

But not quite enough to get healing.

Permalink Mark Unread

Their toy's been just fine without so far.

Permalink Mark Unread

And prettier for it.

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmm yes. (She strokes Lace's hair, then digs her fingers into a cut on their pet's shoulder.)

Permalink Mark Unread

She whines and squirms a bit. "Please mistress..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Please what, Lacey? Use your words like a good girl."

Permalink Mark Unread

Squirm! "Can I have my reward please, ma'am?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Aww, she can't resist that face.

Lace may have a small reward.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eeeeeeee! (Wiggle!) "Thank you mistress."

Permalink Mark Unread

Kiss!

Permalink Mark Unread

Mmmm kiss!

Permalink Mark Unread

"Lovely girl," she says softly.

Permalink Mark Unread

Awwwww. Happy wiggle.

Permalink Mark Unread

Pet pet.

Permalink Mark Unread

Heeeee.

She's a very good and eager to please toy the entire rest of Eliese's birthday, even as the intensity winds down a bit over time. She helps Acererak cook dinner, even, and joins her alt in doting on Eliese.

Permalink Mark Unread

Best birthday, best present.

Permalink Mark Unread

All for the best girl.

(Does Eliese want to spend the night here, or head back to the ship, or send Acererak to check on the pets then come back here...?)

Permalink Mark Unread

Would Lace like to visit the ship?

Permalink Mark Unread

Hm... She's never been on a spaceship, though she has the sneaking suspicion the beds here are cozier...

Permalink Mark Unread

They own a very high-quality spaceship. And Acererak has made several upgrades to the bedding.

Permalink Mark Unread

Fun!

She'll sleep wherever Eliese wants her to, then, but wouldn't mind seeing the spaceship at least once.

Permalink Mark Unread

Then to the spaceship they shall go for the night. The spot at the foot of the bed is taken, but Lace can squeeze in next to her.

Permalink Mark Unread

She's okay with getting cozy, fortunately.

Permalink Mark Unread

Good!

Permalink Mark Unread

Sleepy snugs!

(She probably falls asleep before Eliese.)

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese watches her with a smile before falling asleep herself.

Permalink Mark Unread

She's up early the next morning. She basks in watching Eliese for a bit, then gently detangles herself to go get breakfast - trying not to wake up Eliese, of course.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eliese is a very sound sleeper.

Permalink Mark Unread

Lace is a quiet walker, too.

She pokes around the kitchen cabinets for a little bit.

Permalink Mark Unread

Acererak detangles herself shortly thereafter, following Lace to the kitchen.

"Looking for the coffee?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah. And some kind of very light just-woke-up breakfast. Dunno if you guys have eggs and toast..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll see what we can manage."

She makes coffee and a light breakfast for herself, too, sitting across the kitchen table from Lace to nurse her coffee.

Permalink Mark Unread

Good. And cozy - Lace likes morning afters.

Permalink Mark Unread

Between sips - "Are you thinking of letting us keep you?" she teases, voice light.

Permalink Mark Unread

Shrug. "Uh - complicated feelings about that."

Permalink Mark Unread

" - Oh?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Acererak - do you actually, endorsedly, honestly, fully want to have me as a permanent piece of your relationship right now?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Pause.

"...Eliese really likes you. And I want her to have things she likes."

Permalink Mark Unread

"She likes hooking up with me." She shrugs. "I'm definitely down for more booty call kidnappings, but..." She sighs and places a hand over Acererak's. Gently: "You noticed you love her less than twenty four hours ago, right?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Slow nod.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Is this your first romantic relationship?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I've..."

Had lovers she was either using up and throwing away or manipulating towards an end or often both.

Not - Eliese.

"...It kind of is. She's - good and wonderful and no one else has ever been like her - "

Permalink Mark Unread

She squeezes Acererak's hand and smiles a little. "She is. You should hold onto that, and - onto your own pleasure, not just hers."

She leans forward to kiss Acererak's cheek - oddly chastely. "And you should learn to love one person before you try to love two."

Permalink Mark Unread

" - I could love you, though, or - I think I could - and I know how to love Eliese now, it's - everywhere in my chest - "

Permalink Mark Unread

Squeeze. "Feeling love and knowing love is - different." She hums. "There's - a certainty you can get, that I don't think you two have yet." Deep breath. "Would you be upset, if she fell in love with me, and if she then looked at me in a way she doesn't look at you, because I give her something you can't?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"...Yeah."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It'll feel different, once you're used to being loved, but - "

"Just because your heart's big doesn't mean you need to cram it to the brim."

Squeeze.

"And - Acererak, we're immortal. There's no rush. In a decade? Chances are I'll still be functionally single or with someone who'd like to share. Take your time. Learn how to love your girlfriend, and what being loved means, and - when you're ready, when you can think about me and her separately from you and just feel unabashed happiness for the both of us - then you can try to add me. Or someone else, even."

Permalink Mark Unread

She thinks.

"...I don't think I'd be - happy, right now, if you two wandered off for alone time without me..."

Pause.

Then, slowly: "And that's not - fair to her, or to me, or to you."

Pause.

"But - I want her to be happy, and to have every little thing she wants..."

Permalink Mark Unread

Small smile. "I bet she wants you to be happy, too, and to have all the little things you want. Much more than she wants to own me. And - you guys can absolutely still have days like yesterday with me. I'm not turning those down, at all, that was great. Just..." Shrug. And, wryly: "I'd rather be the occasional spice than a main dish, at least for now."

Permalink Mark Unread

Sigh.

"I - see your point." She turns her hand over to squeeze back. "And... Thank you."

Permalink Mark Unread

Quick kiss. "It's no problem. Sensibility is one of my specialties. Alongside the masochism."

Permalink Mark Unread

Grin. "I'll stick to horrifically insulting the basic fabric of reality, I think."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We all have our talents."

Permalink Mark Unread

Heh.

The rest of breakfast can be spent in lighter topics, then...

Permalink Mark Unread

Quite happily.

They're still sitting together cozily, whenever Eliese wakes.

Permalink Mark Unread

Which is an hour or so later.

She yawns as she moves unerringly in the direction of the coffee.

Permalink Mark Unread

She's adorable and Acererak loves her.

She moves aside a bit to make room for Eliese at the table.

Permalink Mark Unread

She squeezes in next to Acererak, giving her a peck on the cheek.

Permalink Mark Unread

Nuzzle.

"Sleep well, darling?"

Permalink Mark Unread

She takes a drink.

"The best. Good morning, sweetheart. And Lace."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Good morning."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You two looked cozy."

Permalink Mark Unread

"We've been talking," she says, smiling a little.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Only good things if it was about me, I hope."

Permalink Mark Unread

Heh. "All things about you are excellent." Sip. "Discussion was more about the 'two of us' part, though," she says, gesturing to encompass herself and her alt.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Ah." She takes a moment to think. "I had wanted to ask you about doing this again sometime."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'd love to, though my job'd probably appreciate some more warning next time."

Permalink Mark Unread

She elbows Acererak playfully. "I don't think it'll be quite so last minute."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I can do warning." And, teasingly: "Or at least enough spying to figure out your vacation days."

Permalink Mark Unread

She snorts.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't think anything will match the first time... But breaking you in was fun."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It was. Sadly, I don't think I can pull off fear like that when I know what's going on..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I will cherish the memory," she says gravely.

Permalink Mark Unread

Heee. "It's a good thing the recording exists..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Indeed it is." She hugs Acererak.

Permalink Mark Unread

Happy snug. "I'll give you something to watch it from, if you'd like."

Permalink Mark Unread

"That'd be great, yeah."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll get right on it."

She fortunately has a stash of crystal balls in her own demiplane; it's easy enough to modify one for Lace's use. Dropping off Lace goes easily enough, and then it's back to wandering and learning and exploring for Acererak and Eliese.

Lichdom is hard to obtain, but - Acererak's a good, dedicated teacher, and they have all the time in the world now. And several of the spells on the way to it are fun in their own right...

Acererak relaxes around Eliese over time, trusting her more and more. It's - easy and natural and good, so good.

Permalink Mark Unread

She loves her Acererak so, so much. And they are going to be immortal together forever. They don't stop kidnapping Lace, but Acererak will always be the one Eliese goes home with.

Permalink Mark Unread

It's everything Acererak never knew she wanted.

She's happy.
