Belrun is so close to getting this damned flu strain to calm down in this one egg. She copies the change across to a few more eggs' worth, iterates, writes everything down, and Fetches the egg that is getting scary into her pot of simmering water before it makes a break for it. It's getting on toward dark and if she keeps working she's going to have to do it by candlelight, and she doesn't like that - it's already too easy to bump into things when she can see them. She calls it a day and closes up the lab for the night and heads out to walk over to the university cafeteria. It's a nice evening, and it's Flatbread Night, and she's in a generally good mood.
"Yes we're worried she's gone off to jump in the river, however, we can't exactly ask her Companion where she is, can we!"
"Can everyone be QUIET?" Savil snaps. "We've got people looking - right now we need to make a decision about Belrun, focus, please."
"What, really? Are we not just obviously sending her back at this point?"
"Tran! Please!" Sigh. "Probably we should but - damn it. Goddamnit." Savil kicks a stone in frustration.
"...Yes." Pause while he concentrates for ten seconds. "Belrun, do you know anything about or have any involvement with Dara recently disappearing?"
"She Mindspoke me about it. I expect she's fine and left of her own accord."
"Both of she asked me not to and I wasn't clear if I was allowed to talk to anyone."
"Apparently not!" Vanyel looks very frustrated. "Why are we still standing here?"
"You know, with the way things are going, maybe we should! She's been here, what, two days, do we really want to try our luck at a third–"
"Tran, please." Savil flings up both hands. "I know everything is descending into chaos around us right now but the additional shouting is really not helping!"
