"-I prefer being with you to what I would otherwise have been doing by quite an extremely substantial margin."

"Oh. Well then I'm not sorry."

"Good."

Kiss.

Annie looooooves her and is going to do her damndest to marry her.

Lucette is in favor of this!

Lucette's mother was apparently considering the names of Oliver, Felix, and Hugo, if any of those strike her fancy...or more likely strike Annie's fancy, given Lucette's inability to pick names.

"Oliver is the best of the three, I think."

"That will do. Have you picked something for yourself?"

"My middle name is Merry and I haven't brought it up to anyone here yet, will it pass?"

"It will....And we'll need a last name for the two of us?"

"That'll have to be a British one and I don't know the range."

Lucette grabs a genealogy book that's sandwiched between two books on medieval warfare in the library. What's on this random page over here?

Passages covering the lineages of Tunstall, Turley, and Turpin.

"... are any of these good?"

"Merry and Oliver Turley."

"-looks like the Turley's died out a century ago, which is appropriately timed for me to be a distant descendant without having it be likely that anyone would claim to know my family."

Meanwhile, Lucette has to begin preparations for the wedding she is dearly hoping not to have. She shops for wedding dresses, chooses who will be her head maid after the marriage, and arranges the logistics of the wedding which is almost fun if she ignores who the wedding is for. Sophie asks her exactly what went so horribly wrong, so she can avoid it. So Lucette explains that and then receives a hug from an uncertain Sophie when she starts crying, along with a promise to visit and discuss the weather as much as she would like, or as much as Andrew would hate if Lucette decides she wants to be vengeful after all.

At mass the next week her grandfather informs the priest of her impending nuptials, and the congregants are asked if they have any objections.

No one does.

Yes they fucking do but not for this audience.

(Lucette's parents are not there due to how scandalous they are, but they also object.)

"I-" oh what is her mom's hand doing there.

Lucette's mother brings an extra trunk when she goes to visit the Oakhill Manor to keep vigil before Lucette's wedding. It's filled with as much money as she can spare, as well as at least a few days of clothes.

What's the transportation plan, is Lucette just going to fly away really fast?

"I'm not fast enough to make it safely in one go, but we can do it over a number of days and stop at towns on the way."
