"Are you mostly annoyed about his preferences per se or about the ways they affect you?"

"...I thiiiink the latter? And, like, worried that it's going to become a thing. There's a... Creeping doom sorta feeling."

"I agree that you should communicate about your creeping doom."

Head, meet table. She mutters something too quiet to make out.

Teddy, any words of advice to impart?

"Anxiety sucks, but at least you're aware of it? And working yourself up to deal with it? I don't know him either but I think you'll probably be fine, especially if you approach it calmly. And if it's not fine, and he's secretly a huge asshole, we'll still be here."

Head leaves table. "It would really surprise me at this point if he's a huge asshole instead of occasionally acting like a medium-sized one." Sigh.

"He seems prickly, but maybe in a way that - softens - after a while of knowing him? I don't know."

"'Prickly' sounds about right. Like, some people, you just have to figure out the rules for existing near them and then you're good? I'll deal. Want to do anything in particular while he's getting pizza?"

"Nothing leaps to mind. Cricket, are there rules for existing near you?"

"No, I actually allow people to exist near me even if they are inferior."

"Okay. Hey Teddy, want to try figuring out what happens if a big bomb goes off in the hydroponics tank? Plausible-engineering wise? The reactor clans are escalating..."

Some time later, the social visit ends, after pizza is delivered and devoured. Wendy and Nick leave town. Teddy makes no move to resolve the lingering tension of working in Toronto.

Well, as long as he'll give Haru enough notice to cancel his dungeon availability before he goes anywhere.

There's nothing more permanent than a temporary solution and at some point he's just going to be in a state of living in Toronto permanently without ever having decided so. 

But in the meantime, they can both clear more dungeons.

And kiss afterwards. That part is important.

Oh, not just kissing. Or at least, not just in one place.

What a delightful Teddy he has for as long as Teddy is willing to be had.

He gets an apartment in Toronto. Nearish or at least not super far from Haru's place. At this level of esper money there's no real reason not to even if he might move somewhere, eventually. He sets up the expensive gaming PCs he talked about once, and has a lot of fun with that. The place has a soda fountain, another indulgence, and hired cleaners and one bedroom.

Is it suitable to silo in? That is to say, how big a bed.

It's plenty big. He planned for this.
