Nnnnnnnnngh but waaaaarm. She follows him a little as he moves, but does in fact allow him to disentangle and run off to pee.

Okay good. He'll also brush his teeth and wash his face for good measure and then come back to bed.

Yeah he's busted, she's awake and blinking blearily.

"... Hi," she says, somewhere between sleepy and shy.

"Oh. Hi."

"Good morning."

The smile seems to put her at ease, and she smiles back.

"Good morning." She summons a little tiny light mote, just for the hint of backlash, then dismisses it and reaches out to touch him. "Your backlash feels better, I think? I don't know if I've gotten you to zero, but I feel like I am still properly fulfilling my partnery duties."

She sounds very pleased about getting a good grade in being his partner.

Grin. "Yeah. I'm—pretty close to zero." Though, uh, there is one thing they could do to make sure he—no, it's early but not that early, he does not have time for that. Actually he should start reading up on his upcoming dungeon. He can do that while snuggled up, though, right?

Yeah, absolutely. Hye-jin checks the time, assures herself that she's not late for anything in particular, and settles in for snuggles.

"Do you mind if I read over your shoulder?" she asks, when he summons the comm screen. "It's dungeon info, right?"

"Oh sure, yeah." He widens his commscreen so they can both read it comfortable.

Excellent.

Less excellent: some of this does not... make sense. Which she doesn't like.

"..... would it be okay to ask questions? Uh, as in, will it not waste your time and attention to ask questions, specifically, I know how explaining stuff makes things take twice as long at best and whatnot."

"Oh. Sure. That's useful practice, probably, and I've already read all of this, I'm just reviewing."

"Okay!"

She has a basic understanding of how dungeon clears are traditionally run, with the different teams handling different aspects of the operation. He's in the last wave, of core retrieval and final rescues of those pulled into the dungeon while it's been active, which makes sense for this type of dungeon. Nonlethal kidnapping, like most are. Minimal security of victims, retrieval possible by non-esper strike squad with esper support. The majority of rescues take place in the third wave, after both sides of the portal's been secured and the place has been checked over by a sensor for classification, but dungeons do still continue to kidnap stragglers after their opening bout when they appear. Lee Tae-gun is pretty suited for flexing between final rescues and punching through whatever defenses are in between him and the core, which is probably why he's the only combat esper assigned to this shift. It's all pretty by the book for this ranking, though...

"So in this case, why isn't there a final sensor checkover?" she asks, peering at the commscreen. "This isn't one of the, er, big open dungeons where you can see everyone that's been taken. Isn't that a bit dangerous?"

"This dungeon is fully mapped and easy to traverse, and sensors are relatively thin on the ground and their time is at a premium, so unless we strictly need to it's not the best use of our resources to bring a sensor over again. And in this case, we don't strictly need to, because I am highly-mobile and fast so I can do the final check with some help from the support team on the ground. The marginal minute I spend in the dungeon doing that check is cheaper than what it would be to get another sensor in."

"Hm. Okay, fair enough. ... So I should probably work on my mobility, huh, that seems really useful to working in a team."

"...well, if we go in together, you can ride my hoverboard with me, but, what did you have in mind?" Her power does not seem to obviously lend itself to mobility.

"Oh, um, so I can control directionality in my exothermic reactions? Have it be pushing more in one direction than another, and create force that way. So in theory I could do what rockets do, just I would need to be careful to not burn myself and my surroundings to a crisp."

"—oh! That sounds really cool."

"Right! But I haven't done any testing there because, well, I was bottlenecked on backlash, and aaaaalso that seems super dangerous."

"...oh, right, yes, you might get hurt." He sometimes forgets not everyone can take an explosion to the face and come out of it only slightly horny for wear.

"Yeah. Be it active power use or the backlash, deadly either way, that's me." Is she still kinda mad about this? Yeah. She could have had something cool that could be used to build stuff!!!

"Well, um, the backlash at least we can manage? We'll figure it out."

"Yeah," she agrees, still a little deflated. By how she's a danger to herself and everyone near her with her existence.

"...do you want to practise, um, safety-related stuff later...?" She seems upset.

"Oh, um. Maybe, yeah. Sorry, didn't mean to interrupt your review time."

"Well I mean I think I'm done? But safety practice will have to be tonight."
