I haven't had a chance to see any of those, can you describe the relevant similarities?

Plots revolving around juggling information and secrets are a thing? I don't have an exact plot in mind.

I would really rather not have any secrets because they seem practically guaranteed to blow up in our face eventually but I doubt talking with you is the avenue by which they're going to do that.

Yeah, I'm not telling, it's fine. Just don't get R-rated or anything.

I have sisters of my own and a sense of how little one wants to know about their sisters' personal lives.

Isabella is fantastic.

Gosh, really, hadn't noticed.

You were right when you said I wasn't going to find a better human.

Of course I was.

I did look. The not having to lie would be appealing.

Yeah that part sucks. Isabella thinks like in a really long time it might not be a problem any more?

Not even that long, the way Elves count it, but - plausibly like a hundred Years, so very long for humans.

Do you like, not experience half of the minutes you live through, or something, that this doesn't seem like a long time.

No, it's more - the reference class? I'm almost two hundred Years old, so you can think of a hundred Years for me as like a decade for you or Isabella -

A decade is also kinda a long time!

Really? In that case I don't know what the difference is. Maybe one of those 'we're actually aliens' things.

Maybe. I mean, I do notice that a decade is less time than a millennium. Because math.

And Valinor has this effect to make - everything seem recent, and nothing urgent.

That's spooky, very Fairylandish.

My mother's very annoyed by it, she spends as much time in Tampa as feasible without abandoning her children. I wish we'd known we'd make contact with another world someday, and that time mattered because it mattered how much we'd achieved by the time we did, but I don't mind the effect in itself.

I don't super notice it when I'm around, which is all the spookier. Isabella just looks at her watch all the time. What do you think you would've got done if you'd known?

I don't know. We invented writing 1500 Earth years ago, how much had Earth invented by then - but it should really be more than that, we don't die and we don't have to have the vast majority of our population working for sustenance -

Earth definitely had writing 1500 years ago. I don't have a super good timeline of inventions though.

Maybe I'll look it up sometime. It also could be that Elves invent slower than humans even outside Valinor, we won't know that until we properly meet the Endorë Elves...

Also I think a lot of our inventions were inspired by the sustenance thing? And also killing each other all the time, that too.

I can see how that'd be motivating.
