I'm not sure what standard rates are, I've never thrown a concert, but I bet we can finagle you at least half!

I won't complain about more but I don't trust too-complicated deals. Make things harder than they need to be. At least half.

I'll let them know.

Young one, while Stone and other materials can muffle your song, you can generate an estimate of your range by walking away while maintaining it.

River does that! It's about eighty feet if she's not really shouting until it gets muddled and indistinct.

I'm sure there are theaters that radius which would love to have you.

But not right now? Tomorrow maybe?

Oh, of course not right now. Tomorrow will be fine.

Good. I want to listen to lots of music and pick things to play and find a story to tell. Good songs are stories, if I will sing for such a long time I have to have a story.

There are a lot of kinds! Amseli's assistant whispers to her. My assistant suggests that there's a program that is designed to help figure out people's musical tastes which would expose you to many genres.

Sure! Just show me how. Computers are strange.

The assistant offers her a pocket everything (they brought a few new ones to the meeting) and gets the app for her.

Claws prove to be bad at using touchscreens. She has to hold her 'fingers' awkwardly to allow the fleshy underside a ways down from the sharp point to touch the screen.

Seeker managed it, somehow, so she can't let that stop her from using the pocket everything!

...She cracks the screen.

They get her a new one and somebody gives her their stylus.

She attempts to learn the stylus. This is somewhat less awkward than claws.

Sorry! Our tools have buttons and ridges recessed into things mostly. And we don't have as many of them. Seeker makes things you can Sing to, it's kind of amazing!

We've got a lot of tools, and if enough Draak come by the planet I'm sure someone will invent specialty accommodations for your appendages for them.

I don't think you could use my grabstick either! It grabs things from far away. And I can charge it back up with fire. I traded a weird fossil I found for it, it was a good deal since I couldn't carry around a big fossil forever.

(She gravitates towards string instruments and complicated percussion sequences in the music-taste app.)

Do you need to be telepathic to use it?

Nope but your fingers are too short and soft to aim it right I think.

That makes sense. Could we make one that was shaped differently?

Probably! But I didn't make it. I'm not really a making-things kind of Draak. Because if you make things, they have to be perfect or it's infuriating and you want to break the thing you made, and I'm bad at perfect.

Is that how all Draak feel about making things that aren't just right?

I think so. It probably varies. Stuff you found or traded for being not perfect is fine, though.

If we knew the principles of the stick I'm sure we wouldn't mind going through a few prototypes to get it right.

If you want it maybe I'll sell it! Seeker didn't tell me not to.

We can see what people will bid for it! Maybe they can figure out how it works. I think they'd like instructions on how to make it even better, though.
