Well, even though Seeker's the one who might be able to do the thing we're most hoping for, we've been hoping for aliens in general for a long time and you're still an alien in general.

Makes sense! Why cover yourself with cloth things? Doesn't it scratch? How come Amentans can barely smell? Thumbs seem useful even though I like claws better. How did the internet start?

We cover ourselves with cloth things for warmth and decoration, and most fabric doesn't scratch. We might not smell as well as you do but don't usually need to use smell to navigate. Thumbs are really useful. The internet's development had a lot of steps and I don't know them all, would you like someone to look up an article on it for you?

Decoration is good. Too much slows you down though. Just look at Bloom! So careful not to scratch a claw or bend a feather! She's very pretty, though. Warmth makes sense... Aha! You see better. I can't see tiny details like words without a lens, especially from far away.

Maybe later, I don't know what I even want to know, yet!

Maybe with some lenses you'll want to read a lot of the internet to learn more!

Or just making the words bigger? Lenses are pretty breakable. And I can only read Elder Darktooth's sigils now. But it sounds like the internet has lots of interesting stuff and it will probably be worth the effort!

Devices with larger print exist too, but I don't know how large you need it.

Try one and see! Thats how you find out!

Seeker said Tapa and maybe Voa and maybe Tuviri seemed like the best places to go when I'm here, and you're from Tapa right?

Yes, I am!

So I could go to Tapa for a week or two until it's time to go home for the Moot. Or is this already Tapa? A city in Tapa.

This island belongs to Tapa but isn't a central example.

My Treasure is the things I have experienced. I can't pay for this. I don't know what you would want from me except to make a good impression on my father.

The relationship doesn't seem important, just relevant - one can expect River and Seeker to be similar, and for the latter to care if the former flourishes or dies.

We generally let people visit Tapa to look around even if we don't want to make good impressions on their families. If you want anything very expensive or complicated, we might want to talk that over.

People pay to talk to interesting people sometimes! If I end up wanting expensive things could try that.

That would work! I bet a lot of people would love to chat with you.

River flaps her wings once, shedding excitement into the air.

Talking to people is one of the best things about wandering! Few people want to talk to a barely-flying-one without much Treasure you can touch. Luckily, I'm good at running away.

- what does that have to do with running away?

I wander. I got good at running away, so I don't get hurt when people find me in their territory!

That sounds stressful.

It makes sense to chase away someone you find in your territory. They could be hunting your animals or trying to steal your Treasure, and it's yours. So I'm not upset when it happens. I don't hunt in claimed territories much and only little things and I usually leave a few shiny things if I have some as an apology so nobody actually hates me.

Well, you'll have a chaperone along when you visit a city, so it'll be easy to avoid accidentally wandering onto private property, and the streets are for everyone to walk on.

What if I want to climb a tree or go somewhere faster than you walk or there's something interesting on private property or-

Seeker clacks his teeth sharply. River shivers all over.

Okay okay chaperone.

If the chaperone's too slow for you, maybe you can ask them to get a bicycle.

I'll behave, I promised I would if I came here and I get to see a new planet so it's worth it even if I'm far more Water than Earth.

More Water than Earth?
