He can't bring the sculpting stuff somewhere else easily but if anyone gets to the conference he will sculpt them. He might do a video of him making something simple later!

Meanwhile he starts opening auctions.

Things get bid up quite merrily.

A green at the conference gets her niece in through screening and presents her as a sculpture model.

Hello! This should be interesting. I might not get details all right, like your face and hair, I'm going to focus on the spirit lines.

He sets out a tarp, some weird tools, and a few blocks of metals plus a big chunk of translucent glass.

"Can I take a selfie of us first so my friends know I really got here?"

Sure! We are very exciting, after all.

She beams and snaps a photo.

He holds two claws on one hand up and sticks his tongue out!

What's your name and what do you do? Nobody's sure what makes spirit lines a certain way but I like to make guesses sometimes.

"I'm Kah Mian and I'm an artist, I do papercraft."

That sounds interesting. I've never seen paper or plastic made into things before. I made something that was probably plastic once by cooking tar, but I like working with metal and rocks and glass better. Mostly metal and rocks, glass is so tricky.

He has brought out a large shallow bowl from somewhere in the depths of his big box and puts the lump of glass into it, then starts breathing fire over it.

Mian watches in fascination. "I've done other materials but I've been paying the bills with quilling recently."

This part takes a while. No Draak can be happy without enough precious things to call their own, and turning something into art makes it even more precious. I guess Amentans like art too but maybe not the same way. There's a lot of kinds of art, what's that one like?

Fire, fire. He turns the little brick of glass over and over in his claws, applying heat evenly and seemingly not bothered by it.

"It's making little strips of paper into curly shapes and assembling them into stuff, I sell ornaments and framed stuff for walls and sometimes I cast something in resin to be jewelry or a phone case or whatever. I'd show you but you're busy."

I wouldn't use paper because it's not a very Treasure-like material, but it sounds pretty. You can think about it 'at' me and I'll get the idea! The Song is a much nicer way to communicate than vibrating a bunch of air.

So she thinks about paper quilling art.

Soon he has the block of glass at a nice malleable but non-molten temperature.

I think a simple and relaxed pose will work best for my first try.

She sits in the clover, cross-legged, leaning back on her hands.

That works!

He gets the rough shape right, then uses weird tools that are probably magnetic somehow to draw long, thin strands of the metals all through the sculpture. He spends a lot of time tweaking those to be just right before fixing up the shape of the glass with tiny careful puffs of flame and taps from tools or a claw. The last thing to get added is a twisty and spiky corona of grey wire around the sculpture's head with a single curlicue of bright white hovering directly above the head like a question mark.

He cools it gradually by breathing flame to keep the temperatures up.

Ah! I should have recorded that. What do you think of it?

"I like it! Makes me look sort of like a grey but the whole thing's monochrome so it's fine. Those tools you're using to get the threads in the glass are really cool, do you sell those?"

The head aura is mostly grey. You have a bit of bright white in yours, see, which is unusual for Amentans. Probably because you're green, white is Air, it means... Alacrity? Mental sharpness?

...I think probably not. If you don't have these already they can be my secret weapon, something no stupid commission artist copycat can do.

"Aww."

Go ahead and take a bunch of pictures, make it famous! And, I'll give you one part of twenty of whatever it sells for when it goes. It's only fair.

"Ooh, thanks. Lemme give you my payment info." She writes it down, and takes pictures of the sculpture and herself with the sculpture.

Wire takes the payment info and keeps plying the internet. He discovers celebrity crush lists and makes one of the most attractive Draak (in his opinion)!

Looks only, not any of the other reasons one might want to be with them. The movie star Sunwind is at the top. He is a prime specimen. Bloom is second and attractive in a neat and pretty way rather than a raw power way. He makes similar comments for every other Draak he can find or take a picture of, even River, his sister (Draak do have an incest taboo by the way, but he can still judge attractiveness!) and ranks them all.

This list goes promptly viral and people post their own opinions, either purely aesthetic or suspiciously not depending on the person.

The things a Draak will find especially attractive in another Draak include: A nice tail, orderly scales or feathers, a correctly proportioned neck, good crest feathers, big wingspan, a nice scent, and some qualities of the spirit/soul that are hard to think of a visual metaphor for. None of these things vary by gender so while he's never heard of Draak autumning sideways it doesn't really matter for this list.
