We have no idea.

Well. OK.

Maybe ping Wishbone about mummy stuff, I got nothing.

He sends Wishbone their current mummy dilemma and stirs and fries.

Not my area of expertise, I'm afraid. Archeological work on the Inca human sacrifices is ongoing, and there's a lot we still don't know. Much less has been written about the Inca mummies than about the Egyptian variety - which can, incidentally, sometimes be reanimated, though only under unusual circumstances, and I would not generally consider the resulting creatures even as similar to their human predecessors as, say, a vampire.

Anyway! I can see if your brother has anything relevant in his library, if someone picks me up. Apart from that, it seems like our other sources of information are the swordsman, the mummy, and possibly the museum staff. I'd be surprised if such a valuable exhibit was being passed around without any experts involved. Maybe someone there can shed some light on this.

He bounces this to Karen.

That might be worth chasing down.

I can. Do you want me to go now, or - buddy system does sort of cut down how many places we can be at once, I guess.

Yeah.

I guess - OK, who do we have -

If you and Michael are here then the two of you can probably handle anything that comes by. We can call in Bureau people if we want me to have backup on the way to the museum, although I honestly have no idea what Bureau policy is on murder mummies. Probably be ideal to have Wishbone at the museum, in case he notices anything, although I guess if the logistics of that are too complicated you can just, like, bounce him stuff I'm seeing there, is that a way osanwë can work? - they probably wouldn't let a dog in anyway, I guess.

I can do that, yeah. They seem to have pretty lax standards of caution-for-the-exhibits for an art museum though I don't know if that extends to letting dogs in. You want a Bureau escort to your house to pick up Wishbone and then to the museum? .... I guess probably not now, it's probably closed by now.

Yeah, doubt it's so urgent that it makes any sense to break in. Tomorrow. ...I guess for tonight we just hang out with mummy girl and wait for the swordsman to find her? Shouldn't be hard for him, we're in the same place as before.

Might want a better plan of attack this time? I hope he comes.

They bring the mummy stir-fry.

Mummy happily eats stir-fry!

At some point, a man with a sword starts circling the house.

Alex sits up slightly straighter. Michael -

Yeah, I'll head out.

The swordsman doesn't immediately attack this time. He stands back, waiting to see where Michael's going.

He walks over to him, hands open. "Do you speak English?"

"What are you doing here?"

"The being you protect is dangerous. She has killed at least once. She will kill again."

"We know. We're trying to learn how to safely contain her. Do you know if she's a danger to everyone she touches?"

"She can kill with a touch if she chooses to. She must kill to sustain herself, until she in turn is killed."

"I don't know that, I'm sorry."

"Do you know what'll happen if we keep her away from people? Does she starve?"

"She will die. - she is already dead, but it will become apparent. The body will return to what it was."
