She is sitting in the library, studying. It's her most common pastime, by hours; spending time with her sister is more enjoyable but Jaromira prefers to socialize more broadly and Katarzyna would only get in the way. This is better on net; the two of them share a room, so it isn't as though her sister's time is entirely hogged by the other girls who call this boarding school "home." Or at least "prison." Katarzyna doesn't mind it, though; the school library is excellent, and basic manners and care for the books has endeared her to the librarian to a sufficient degree to lubricate the interlibrary loans process when there's something she wants to read that they don't have.

Once the family has been shuffled off the receptionist makes eye contact with her.
Smile, Katarzyna, it's a useful social lubricant.
"Hello! I'm a magical girl and I'm looking for the paperwork to join a hospital volunteer program?"
"Okay! You want Thaumo, it's in suite 421, elevator's that way."
Suite 421 is between the injection clinic and the laboratory. The guy at the desk says, "Juanita?"
"You're not Juanita, are you. - she tries out new faces a lot. What can I do for you?"
"My name is Katarzyna Kozlov and I'm looking for the paperwork to join a magical girl volunteer program."
"I've got that back here, one second." He hunts around for a bit, humming under his breath, and finally hands her a fat blue folder.
"Right back here!"
"Thank you," she says, tucking the folder under her arm and heading back to the elevator.
"No problem!"
She flies back to school and gets started on the mountain of paperwork.

she texts Isabella.
Not on purpose, but the download link was broken and I had to find out which hospitals would have it.

She spends the next few days filling out and returning the paperwork, and before too terribly long magical girl club rolls around again.

And her girlfriend is there!
Mercedes announces that she's organized a double club meeting with another school, and they all need permission slips to meet at the other school. "If it works out we'll take turns and they'll come here."
"They're like us. Just another high school in flying distance. Those of you who don't fly can get on bus 6 at the end of the day, get off at the last stop, and get within ten blocks of their meeting place."
"Did you go to a pro?" Gabrielle asks Katarzyna.
