"Maybe your type is yetis, whatever."

"Maybe. At the moment it seems entirely academic."

"Fair enough."

"It's certainly--interesting, the way thaumosexuality works."

"You're telling me."

"It seems peculiar that it leaves asexuals alone but flips heterosexuals instead of making them asexual."

"I guess. I would have been even less enthused about becoming asexual, though."

"I'm not saying it's not convenient--but it has different implications."

"Yeah, it does."

"And if I'm going to figure out the deep mysteries of magic, I have to pay attention to those."

"What do you hope to learn by investigating thaumosexuality?"

"More about how magic affects the brain in general. Whether it's reversible or preventable, in cases where that would be desirable."

"People who lose or surrender their powers aren't thaumo any more..."

"I would prefer a less drastic solution than that."

"Yes, but it's information!"

"You're welcome. I'm planning on doing my next presentation on thaumosexuality, actually."

"I'll have to consider what to do when she calls upon me."

"Think fast, you only get a few weeks' grace period before she assigns you. I like to get mine done well in advance so if she surprises me I don't have to whip it together in a week of spare time."

"Perhaps I'll prepare two. A default and a contingency in case she turns out to be egregiously irritating and merits a sharper tongue."

"What presentation topic does she get if she irritates you? Or do you just mean you'll talk about it differently?"

"If she irritates me she gets a presentation on the relative merits of her preferred system and circle critiques."

"I'm not sure that counts as a presentation about magical girls and magic."
