Moving. Yet again. Because this ducking stupid—
No. Get yourself under control. You know what happened that time—
Okay. New school. Mmhm. It's alright.
He arrives at the school...
"Oh I have, but I didn't remember which specific terrible mentor you'd mentioned yesterday, sue me."
"You thought they weren't interesting? What did you think they were?"
"Well the deep analysis here was that I found the villains somewhat shallow and unconvincing, the heroes' philosophy simplistic and unsympathetic, and the whole plot seemed a little bit too Manichaean?"
"The villains are shallow, because they're running an empire after lots of work to get to that point, and also, they have a magical force poisoning their brains. The heroes are charming, if kind of simplistic, yeah, but it's space fighting!"
"I mean, as a piece of entertainment, Star Wars is fun, it just didn't appeal to my sense of plot and storytelling."
"Shut up. We're watching them again. Movie marathon at Scott's place, just the three of us."
"I would say 'sounds like a date' but the joke utterly fails due to Scott's presence. And ownership of the place."
"I'm pretty sure you need someone around who isn't going to be seduced by you in the middle of an argument, Stiles. It's good for you."
"Oi, I can totally be seduced and not change my mind! Seduction isn't an argument!"
"No, see, first I make very good points, and then I distract you until they sound even better than they are."
"That," he murmurs to Stiles under his breath, "sounds very tempting."
Ade does like to learn! Ade will learn. The teacher will have very little to do with this fact.
The teacher will teach them, no matter how stubborn they are.
Look at all this syntax, wow. So much grammar. Don't they feel enriched?
Stiles ignores the teacher and writes notes to himself like "Star Wars as a genre movie, contextualize better" and "Luke x Han x Leia, why threesomes are great".
Oh if only Ade knew what was going on in Stiles' head he would be so delighted. But unless he shares these notes, Ade will remain ignorant.
Tragic, indeed.
Class ends, and Stiles waves at the movie heathen.
"When should we do the movie marathon thing?" he asks as he's gathering his stuff up and leaving.
