Moving. Yet again. Because this ducking stupid—
No. Get yourself under control. You know what happened that time—
Okay. New school. Mmhm. It's alright.
He arrives at the school...
"He was pretty excited yesterday when I suggested it, but if you think that could help, I'll accept."
"You impressed coach? That's good, my endorsement might not mean much, then. Can't hurt, though. He likes me. Do you know what happened with Scott, by the way? He was acting kind of intense during practice."
"I'm not really sure," he lies. "I think it might've been something to do with Allison?" Because that's the most plausible thing he could think of that'd affect Scott like that.
"Maybe, yeah. He's been different, lately. More confident, more aggressive...I think the only thing I could have said about Scott McCall last month was that he was nice."
"Well, I only met him yesterday," he shrugs. "Can't really comment on what he used to be like."
"And when your new kid charm wears off, you'll need a new excuse! Anyway, more importantly, have you considered joining clubs?"
"I have! But I haven't followed through on actually looking up what clubs there are, I should do that today."
"I'll let you decide for yourself, probably better that way."
And they have class.
Stiles sits behind them, indicating the seat next to him.
"Hey, it's our good friend Ade. Say hi, Scott."
He taps Scott's shoulder with his pencil.
"Alright. Mom and I spent a long while talking." Then, in a lower voice, "About whether we'd stay here."
"We decided we'd stay, because moving is a hassle and being around other people who might know what's going on is oddly comforting and anyway it's not terribly likely anyone will find me. If I'm careful."
"We're really a nice town, besides that stuff. And yeah, having someone else who knows what's going on helps."
He smiles. "I'm gonna stay, don't worry. Might need to figure out a way to get Scott to learn how to hide his scent, actually."
