Moving. Yet again. Because this ducking stupid—
No. Get yourself under control. You know what happened that time—
Okay. New school. Mmhm. It's alright.
He arrives at the school...
The game looks interesting! The players are really hot!
But he does manage to get enough mental control to say to Lydia, "So, um. You mentioned you and Jackson are bi and. Is that, like, a secret?"
"From who? I don't want you spreading any rumors, but it doesn't hurt to confirm it if someone asks."
Scott attempts to get past Jackson.
He fails completely, getting knocked to the ground.
"Well it's just that, he himself didn't mention it and Danny seems to think he's straight and, they've been friends since childhood apparently?"
(Also: ouch.)
"A while, but not since childhood. Anyway, if Jackson doesn't want to admit his sexuality to his best friend, it's not my business."
"Yeah, that's why I'm asking, didn't know how much of a deal it was. It does cast Jackson's new project under a new light, though..."
Ade might be distracted by the sudden laughter of the lacrosse coach.
It reaches his ears, despite the distance.
Of course it does. He glances that way, but says, "I mentioned how violently queer I am, he offered to help with that, and apparently decided to make the other colors of the rainbow more well-known and accepted here."
"My grandmother can move faster than that! And she's dead. You think you can move faster than the lifeless corpse of my dead grandmother?"
"Well, there was some context, he said he didn't know whether to wish me luck, help me, or run for the hills..." He looks at the field again and furrows his eyebrows, but continues, somewhat distractedly, "I asked what 'help' would look like, he um... said he could either make people not... give me a hard time or make people more accepting in general, I mentioned..." He trails off.
Scott runs back to the line of players. His helmet still conceals his face.
Lydia smirks at the field, and turns back to Ade.
"That doesn't exactly sound like Jackson."
