When lunch is over and they're alone, Kaleva asks, "okay, seriously, what was that with Asher?"

"He noticed Chen's been so much more relaxed since we've all three been together and wanted to let me know that he knows I'm gay, he's gay too and also he's interested, I think he was saying people in New Orleans are in general more accepting than the rest of Auradon but I'm not actually sure of that so don't take it too seriously, and he knows other queer people here and can introduce us. I said I didn't think Chen was ready for that but I'd be thrilled and he invited me to something that is probably a party although it might be an orgy, we'll find out." 

"...I really don't think Prince Asher's gay. He is kind of famously not gay."

Sasha shrugs. "Probably he's bi, then, but I definitely know that look." 

"Bi is... both gay and not gay at the same time?"

"Attracted to both men and women, yes. I am not that but I'm guessing Asher is." 

"He has made out with a lot of people," Kaleva says dubiously.

He shrugs. "I barely know him and you and Chen learned what being gay was like a month ago, if he was halfway discreet about it we wouldn't have noticed one way or the other." 

"Also what's an orgy?"

"It's like a party but with a lot more sex." 

"...That sounds fun. Am I invited?"

"I don't know about to this one but if it goes well then probably to the next time I see these people? I don't actually know if there'll be sex at this party." 

"Oh well. I guess I'll go hang out with Chen."

Kiss. "Have fun." 

Finding Asher's room is a challenge, but he gets there. 

"Hello! Welcome!"

Carlos, who is wearing a skirt, is snuggled between Fairy Godmother's daughter Jane and King Ben.

Sasha wasn't sure what he was expecting, but that was definitely not it. 

"Hello, thank you for inviting me! Also thank you for going through so many bats when you were a kid, by the way, I keep meaning to tell you but not getting the chance." 

"You're welcome?"

Excellent, if they're both confused they're on much more equal footing than if Asher knows exactly what's going on and Sasha has no idea. 

He smiles at Asher, then at the rest of the room. "I don't even know how many times my ass got saved by those," he says instead of an actual explanation, and tries not to show how unsure he is of what he's supposed to be doing here. 

"Happy to help!"

"Hey, Sasha! I really wish I could have been more welcoming to you guys when you first came from the Isle, like I was with the first batch, but being king is incredibly time-consuming and I didn't get a chance."

How....do you.....react.....to that. 

"...You got me out." 

He puts as much gratitude behind his voice as is humanly possible. 

"I can only get people out four at a time, it's not fast enough. I'm sorry. I am doing my best but I know that's not enough."

the Literal King Of Auradon is in the same room as me and he is apologizing to me what is happening 

"I don't know how to communicate how much it means that anyone is even trying. You don't need to apologize for doing the best thing anyone has ever done for me." 

"I'm the king. Everything that happens in the kingdom is my responsibility."

"He's like this all the time." 

(Asher's tone of voice and body language is recognizable to any Islander as 'this is my leader.')
