"Then let me introduce you to my servants. Our food will not be healthful for you, but we can provide water safely enough, and of course a comfortable place to rest."

"Lead on."

She does, introducing Ellisaria to a cadre of women. All of them have robes only slightly less rich than Amaterasu's, and seem to have themes of light and fire in their decorations.

"I'll leave you, then, to prepare myself," says Amaterasu.

She dips her head in acknowledgement.

She departs, and the servants see Ellisaria supplied with water, and ask her about what sort of area would help her recover best.

She only needs to refrain from spellcasting. She has an aesthetic preference for mountainous or volcanic region, but that has no real bearing.

"Ama no Iwato is a mountain cave, and not too far," says one of the women, "And it has an august history. There might still be lava within from when her shining majesty retreated there for a time."

"That will do."

Then they lead her to it. It's a soaring peak, overlooking the sprawling palace district, and the cave within is more massive than the mountain should hold. There are, indeed, pools and streams of lava, placed like one might arrange a water garden.

Quite nice. The spatial manipulation is in somewhat poor taste, but she refrains from mentioning this.

She's provided with water, and a way to summon servants, and left to recover.

She curls up next to a lava pool, and contemplates the merits of remaking the body she lost versus creating a new face.

And, after an indeterminable amount of time has not-passed, but surely enough for a recovery, one of the servants returns, and says, "My Lady is ready to see you. She may not enter this cave without plunging the world into darkness; rather she awaits you on the peak."

Ellisaria bestirs herself. "Very well." After exiting the cave, she flies up the mountain.

The peak is fairly simple. There are no shadows, and the sun here seems omnipresent. The air is hot and still. Four orange gates sit at four exits, in what might be the cardinal directions. A circular mural of black stone and opals sits in the center, depicting the shining sun. Amaterasu stands to its north, gazing into the distant south, and she turns to face Ellisaria as the dragon arrives.

There's enough room for a dragon to be comfortable up here.

That's good, because she still hasn't generated a mortal form.

"You called?"

"Yes. The extent for which I can stretch this moment grows thin, and I am ready to pass power unto you."

"Very well. Do I need to do anything?"

"Try to keep your mind clear and calm, but it isn't needed."

She can do that much.

And the sun appears to descend onto the circle, blindingly bright, and Amaterasu is outlined in black flame -

Ellisaria's talons are flame incarnate, her scales unconquerable, her eyes piercing, laying out all burning secrets -

For a moment, all that the light touches is her domain, and then it recedes -

Yet still, the light is almost palpable, a total awareness of all around her. The burning in her chest is sun-hot, impossible to quench, and her claws and teeth are sharp as obsidian. Fire flickers across her scales.

These are the simplest traits of the sun-exalted.

Ellisaria's power is the forge of the sun. To form anew the materials of life, and shape them - great heights will take time, perhaps tremendously so, but she can feel how easy it'd be to create single elements, to stoke the flame in another, to mend what was lost...

And, more, to know what the light of day lays bare. It'll take practice, too, to tear secrets away with a glimpse, but it'll be an edge in combat.

Yes. Yes.

She makes her approval, and pleasure, known in a low rumbling growl as she stretches and flexes her wings.

"Quite something, isn't it?"

"I could challenge Deathwing himself with this power."

"Take care you do not grow haughty; you are not a god, merely akin to one."
