Some weeks later, Mr. Wonka is sitting atop his favorite tree, watching the sun come up over the misty forests of Lake Idyll, the Great Cave, the Two Lesser Caves, and the rest of what they've dubbed Apperside-on-the-Water.

Absolutely lovely. Today, he should catalogue the rest of the vine specimens and see if they might provide better rope and/or other appurtenances. He should check the distillery. He should finish the packing for their next exploratory jaunt. He should take a stroll round the lake. Where's Kevin got to, by the way? Oh, and then there are twenty-three—no, twenty-six—confection ideas to jot down once he's got himself down to terra firma.

Kevin is digging a hole in the ground with a wooden shovel! He was originally digging a hole because saw a weird round mole critter pop up out of the ground and then back down into it and wanted to give chase, but at this point he's about 80% of the way to admitting he's not going to catch it and is just digging a hole for the joy of digging a hole. He did also gather, shell, and chop a bunch of the not-exactly-acorns for the pantry earlier, because Wonka's fried acorns in mushroom oil are delicious.

Paras is helping dig the hole and has NOT given up on getting that other guy.
