"Oh, congratulations. I'll do something magic, since Edie can't conjure that. Were you planning to pretend both gifts were from you?"

"Yeah, Edie said she'd only stop hating you if it was obviated by you hating yourself enough. Pick out a present anyway? I think Tyelcormo will appreciate it."

He passes him some catalogues.

"Effectively at random, Bar's supply is I guess finite but very very large."

"Huh, 'finite but very large' is actually more surprising than 'infinite' in some ways -"

"Crossed my mind. Finite but very large is what we'd expect in a single universe if intelligent life evolved pretty readily -"
