Edie was perusing the latest correspondence from her fork. She still should have been paying enough attention to realize that the door didn't go where it ought before it swung shut and she couldn't sense anyone else anymore, but she wasn't.
After opening and closing the door a couple times to make sure she hadn't just been abducted somehow, she looks around.
"Can you bounce it to one of the non-Space Elves and have them bounce it to me?"
I suspect the limitation is not one of napkins but of mental architecture.
"I do not think giving her counterfeit currency is strongly likely to be more disruptive to anything than giving her non-counterfeit currency," she reports to traumaMaitimo.
"...okay. In that case by all means pay the magic interdimensional bar with counterfeit currency."
Edie pays the magic interdimensional bar with counterfeit currency.
"Wait--first--you said you could make--anything?" she asks her alt.
"...Not antimatter, have to be able to specify it well enough."
"...I should be able to do that!"
She does that.
She tosses over one glass and one metal-and-gemstone ring.
"Thank you," he says fervently, and puts it on, and clasps her hand and glows at her like the day they first exchanged these -
- Except that this time it's her turn to be too overwhelmed with happiness to actually put the ring on.
She thinks about the parallelism and raises his hand to her lips to kiss the knuckle just below the ring and beams at him and is so, so happy.
And so, so, getting carried away upstairs right now, that's a thing that is happening.
Ooh!
She definitely does not object but she might be kind of accidentally obstructive if he finds her throwing her arms around his neck without being overly careful about his hair and kissing him especially distracting.
Yep very distracting but he's not in fact going to stop moving, that just delays them finding their room - why is it hard to find their room - how many rooms does this place have -
Too many! But then Idaia sees their door number almost by accident and points it out to him and fumbles with the doorknob since he has his hands full with her.
And then the door is open and they can go through and she can kick it closed and oh look there's a bed right there.
Oh, love. I missed you too and I had such a short span to do it in, I can't imagine what it must have been like for you, but it's over now, it's over, I'm here and safe safe safe.
Forever and ever and ever. He flops with her onto the bed and kisses her and bursts with relief and joy and the feeling of breathing for the first time in millenia -
