She nods, decides to save mentioning 'this is the last loop' for later when they're not rushing. "Anything else - " she asks, as she pulls the nail out of the wall and goes to stuff the excess items into her new backpack.

Nothing happens immediately, as there's crashes and flashes of light from outside.

Except maybe a feeling like tension. A coil wound tight.

"-Shit, the hamper-" Jenn starts, but it's already too late.

The tension unwinds, and the world springs back to the tunnel.

"Wait, you forgot something - ?"

"Yeah, shit- this is gonna-" She sways, unsteady, eyes already starting to unfocus.

"Crap - there's nowhere to lie down - " She does however swing the backpack on and dart over to Jenn.

"Know-" Jenn manages, trying very hard to stop her knees from buckling, eyes closing not entirely of her own volition.

AHHHHHHHHHH.

Bina is, at least, ready to catch her if she falls.

(How do you treat seizures, forget journalism she's going into medicine if she survives this - )

Jenn manages to keep her feet, just, and partially by lurching close enough to lean on Bina's shoulders.

Bina sags a bit at first then manages to compensate.

Jenn grunts, sounding somewhat apologetic.

"Um can you walk?"

Jenn grunts again, tries to take a step and-

-Apparently that was the extent of her ability. Because she's abruptly dead weight.

Bina staggers, has a mild freakout, tries to check on her, determines she's probably unconscious -

Then, well, there's nothing to do but try and get her somewhere dry and flat so she can lie down out of the cold mud -

The tunnel exit feels far away.

A little island of concrete sticking out of the mud in the main cavern is even farther, and there's tripping hazards hidden where she can't see.

Bina doesn't know how long it takes her. The worst is after she falls, maybe twenty meters from the little island as much as she keeps trying to tell herself it's only ten. She doesn't think Jenn breathed in too much of the mud. She hopes Jenn didn't breathe in too much...

Her body starts going kind of numb by the end. She wants to rest. She wants to sleep, but the mud's high and her body's given up on shivering and if she stops she'll never start again -

She gets them onto the platform, she thinks, hard cold concrete under them. She gets Jenn out of the mud.

And then she passes out.

If she dreams, she doesn't remember it, and she wakes some time later.

"Hamper," Jenn says when she realises Bina's awake. "Was closed. I left the lid open."

"Oh." She doesn't really know what to say. Her brain feels like treacle. Frozen treacle.

"I'm glad you're alive."

"Thought you might not be."

Jenn makes an almost amused sound. "Not quite decided on the 'alive' part yet."

"Oh." She thinks. It's hard. "Yeah."

"Yeah." Pause. "S'cold."

"Think we might be freezing to death."

"Hey. Hey. You need- you're small. You're gonna. You need to sit up. Wake up."

"But I'm tired..."

"I know. I'm sure your day's been so much longer than mine. But if you sleep now you aren't going to wake up."

"Oh....."

"Yeah. The rucksack? Is there anything useful in there?"

"Had the cleaning stuff. And the office stuff. Dunno what else."
